MARSHA KAY PANTALEO

Benton - Marsha Kay Pantaleo, 38, died Monday, June 2, 2003, in St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, at the Johnston Funeral Home in Whittington. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, Whittington. Visitation is after 11:30 a.m. Friday until time of service.

Marsha Kay was born on Dec. 26, 1964, the daughter of Loyd Gale and Katherine Tucker.

She is survived by her father, Loyd Gale Johnston of Benton; two brothers, Jackie Pantaleo of Eldorado, Lyle Jones; twin sister, Lisa Bixler of Murphysboro, and sister, Gayla Johnston of Benton.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to the family.

JUANITA KINKADE

Benton - Juanita Kinkade, 89, died Tuesday morning, June 3, 2003, at the Benton Health Care Center.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, with Galen Dalton officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday to the funeral home.

Mrs. Kinkade was born in Benton on Nov. 14, 1913, the daughter of John and Mary Mollie (Butler) Hayse.

On June 24,1938, she married Charles Kinkade. He died on Jan. 6, 1992.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in West Frankfort.

Survivors include two sons, Leland and James Kinkade, both of Zeigler; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Frank, Glenn, J. B. and Lester and three sisters, Thelma, June, and Hazel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Franklin-Williamson County Workshop or the Colonial Manor in Zeigler and will be accepted at the funeral home at any time.

WAYNE HUTCHCRAFT

Benton - Wayne Hutchcraft, 76, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at his home.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 6, at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home, Benton, with Revs. Leland Widick and Richard Lance officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. on Friday until time of service to the funeral home.

Mr. Hutchcraft was born in Hamilton County, the son of Amos and Rose (Miller) Hutchcraft.

He was a retired farmer.

A longtime member of the Macedonia Methodist Church, he led the singing at the church for many years.

On Jan. 14, 1961, he married the former Glenna Clark. She survives.

In addition to his wife Glenna, he is also survived by two sons, Jay Hutchcraft and wife Kim of Benton, Joey Hutchcraft and wife Rhea of Ewing; six grandchildren, twins Amie and Amanda, Marcus, Michael, Benjamin and Ike; one sister, Nadine Campbell of Decatur; one sister-in-law, Kathryn Hutchcraft of Macedonia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, James.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc. and will be accepted at the funeral home at any time.

WAYMON ROBERTS

Sesser - Waymon Roberts, formerly of Steger, died on June 2, 2003, at his home in Sesser.

Visitation is from 2 until 9 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at the Steger Memorial Chapel, 3046 Chicago Rd., Steger. Burial will be at Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 6.

Survivors include his wife, Mae Roberts of Sesser; son, Bruce and wife Marsha of Sesser; three grandchildren, Ronald and wife Lisa Grasser, David Grasser, and Lacey Mae Roberts; great-grandchildren Nicholas, Erik, Sarah Mae and Devan Grasser; two brothers, Wayne Roberts of Bonsecour, Ala., and Farrell and wife Rhonda of Herrin; and two sisters, Delores Herman of Crete and Linda Lou and husband William Brockman, also of Crete.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janis Pansa, in 2001.

MARY M. CUNNINGHAM

Christopher - Mary M. Cunningham, 66, died at 9:10 a. m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at Benton Health Care.

Her wishes were to be cremated.

Mrs. Cunningham was born on Jan. 9, 1937, in Colorado Springs, Colo., the daughter of James Walter Johnson and Sula August (Squires) Johnson.

She was married to Joseph Cunningham, who preceded her in death in 1994. She was a homemaker and attended the Whittington Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Bill Cunningham of California; two daughters, Josephine Anderson of Dristan, Ohio, and Merina White of Carmi; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Marvin Marshal Johnson, Denver, Colo., and Charles Richard Johnson, Yellville, Ark; and sister, Edna Jean Micci, Colorado Springs.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

EDNA M. BANFIELD

Chistopher - Edna M. Banfield, 91, died at the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., on Wednesday, June 4, 2003.

She was a homemaker.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Christopher, with the Rev. Frank Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in the Mulkeytown Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday, June 6, to the funeral home.

Mrs. Banfield was born on Jan. 21, 1912, in Mulkeytown, the daughter of Allie and Pearl (Barrett) Price.

She was married to Raymod Banfield, who preceded her in death in 1990.

She was a homemaker, and a member of the United Methodist Church in Christopher.

Survivors include one daughter, Dorthy Browning of Woodbury, Tenn.; granddaughter Ramona Adkins and great-grandchild, Jay Adkins, both of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one brother, John Price, Valier; and one sister, Lila Gruner of Carbondale.

LORAN McCLINTOCK

Benton - Loran McClintock, 66, died at 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2003, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home, Benton. Revs. Charles Issler and Gary Hall will officiate. Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday to the funeral home.

Mr. McClintock was born on Aug. 30, 1936, the son of Robert and Rose (Carpenter) McClintock.

On Sept. 4. 1954, in Benton, he married the former Phyllis Holmes. She survives.

He was an Army veteran serving from Feb. 1956, to Jan. of 1962.

Mr. McClintock ran a trash route in Benton for several years, and also pastored several churches.

In addition to his wife, Phyllis McClintock of Benton, he is survived by three daughters, Wendy McGlasson and husband Jerry of Benton, Rose Gosnell and husband Allan of Monteagle, TN, Gwin Odle and husband Dennis of Benton; one son, Rick McClintock and wife Loretta of West Frankfort; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Denzyle McClintock and Richard McClintock, both of Glendale, AZ., Larry McClintock of Benton; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Vivian, three brothers and four sisters.

VICKIE BELBAS

West Frankfort - Vickie Belbas, 83, died at 12:10 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2003, at her home.

She was born March 26, 1920, in West Frankfort to Anthony and Madeline Giachino. She was married to Mike Belbas and he preceded her in death on June 16, 1984.

Private services for Mrs. Belbas were held on Saturday morning, June 7, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John's Catholic Cemetery in West Frankfort, with Father Joseph Trapp officiating. The Parker-Reedy Funeral Home of West Frankfort was in charge of arrangements.

She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church of West Frankfort. She and her husband Mike, were the owners and operators of Mike's Confectionery in West Frankfort for many years.

Survivors include two daughters, Shiela Blackwood and Pat Brock. both of West Frankfort; a son, Mike Belbas of Benton. Also surviving are two grandchildren, James Blackwood of West Frankfort and Jennifer Brock of St. Louis, MO; nephews, Mike Smith, Ken Golish, and Phil Belbas and a niece, Diane Sims.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mike, by three sisters and one brother and by a son-in-law, James "Skip" Blackwood.

Memorials can be made to the West Frankfort Wit & Wisdom, the St. John's Catholic Church of West Frankfort or the St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Benton and will be accepted at the funeral home.

MAMIE MARIE GOSNELL

Benton - Mamie Marie Gosnell died at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, in her home.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, in the Poulson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Severin officiating. Burial will be in the Herrin City Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. to the funeral home.

Mrs. Gosnell was born Feb. 17, 1916, the daughter of John and Flora (Lane) Swatsell. She was married to Amos Gosnell who died in 1987.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Fires of Revival Church in Benton.

Survivors include one daughter, Joyce and husband Walter Chrostoski of Benton; 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Swatsell of West Frankfort, sister, Ethel Stanton, Murphysboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Billy Gosnell, three daughters, Maxine James, Carolyn Dothard, and Joann Groom.

JOHN KENNETH MATLAVISH

Christopher - John Kenneth Matlavish, 81, died on Monday, June 9, 2003.

A Mass will be held a 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Christopher with Father Steven Poole officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Tamaroa. The Gilbert Funeral Home of Christopher is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Matlavish was born on Dec. 25, 1921, in Christopher, the son of John J. and Nettie (Mendell) Matlavish. He was married to Ruby Matlavish.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church, and the Christopher American Legion.

He was a retired mail carrier and mortician.

Survivors include one brother, Honey (Matlavish) Taylor of Orlando, Fla; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
