He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sesser. He was also a member of the Sesser VFW, American Legion and UMWA Local No. 9905.
He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by his children Ron and wife Donna Perjenski, Mt. Vernon and Tom and wife Shirley Perjenski, Waltonville; five grandchildren Stephanie Clarke and husband Max, Tara Perjenski, Amanda Perjenski, Amanda Dycus, Ellen Strothmann and husband Matt; three great-grandchildren Madison, Austin and Lilly; one brother Chester Perjenski, Affton, Mo. and one brother-in-law Anthony Gerdgen, Sesser.
JOSEPHINE EOVALDI
Benton - Josephine Eovaldi, 90, of Benton died at noon Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at the Herrin Hospital.
A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Benton, with Father Joseph Trapp officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic & Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton.
Miss Eovaldi was born on Jan. 26, 1913, the daughter of Joseph F. and Jennie (Borrona) Eovaldi.
Miss Eovaldi was a court reporter. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Benton. Also, she was a member of the Benton Business and Professional Women's Club, and past president of the University of Illinois Alumni Association.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, by four brothers, Benedict, Bill, Joe and Louis, and by three sisters, Jennie, Katie and Louise.
DAVID L. HAM
West Frankfort - David L. Ham, 71, died at 3:10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home, Christopher, with the Rev. Dale Carson officiating. Friends may call after 10 a. m. on Wednesday to the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the Shriners and will be accepted at the funeral home.
He was born on Oct. 16, 1931, in Granite City, to Leonard S. Ham and Mildred (Lewis) Ham. They preceded him in death.
He is survived by three daughters, Becky Wade and husband Steve of Creal Springs; Ronda Murphy and husband Brad of Carterville; and Rosemary Bourland and husband Jack of Yuma, Az.; three sons, Raymond David Ham and wife, Linda of Azusa, Cal; David Ham Jr. of Collinsville and Ron Ham and wife, Lisa of Plant City, Fla. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Danny Ham of Boulder, Colo. and a special friend, Delores Oyler of Benton.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Benton.
WILLIAM J. WILSON
Herrin - William J. Wilson, 57, died at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at the Carbondale Nursing and Rehab Center.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Sesser. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home, Sesser.
Mr. Wilson was born on Dec. 10, 1945, in Chicago, the son of Floyd and Lucy (Morales) Wilson.
He is survived by three children, Michael Wilson of Mt. Carmel; Paula Jones of Sesser; and Richard Wright of West Frankfort.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, David Wright.
He is also survived by Lana Wilson.

Benton - Karen Spanos, 51, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, in the Franklin Hospital, Benton.
Arrangements will be under the care of the Poulson Funeral Home, Benton.
KENNETH D. HOLLEY
Mulkeytown - Kenneth D. Holley, 63, died on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, in the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, in the Mulkeytown Cemetery. Friends are asked to meet at the Cemetery. The Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Holley was born on Nov. 12, 1939, in Draftonville, Ky., the son of Floy and Lottie (Bloodworth) Holley. He married Marie (Neeley) Holley.
Survivors include his wife Marie; four daughters, Sherry Kinsell of Tamaroa, Jennifer Holley of Scott City, Mo., Sheila Holley of Memphis, Tenn., and Donna Aldridge of Elkville; a son, Lee Holley of Elkville; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lugene Tubbs, Doris Anderson, Patsy Downing and Linda Stevenson, all of Ky.; and one brother, Rudy Holley, of Boonville, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, and two granddaughters.
STEVEN KENT ROSS
West Frankfort - Steven Kent Ross, 46, died at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
He was born July 12, 1957, in Benton, the son of John Wendell "Salty" Ross and Mary Alice (Gwyn) Ross.
Mr. Ross attended the Christian Worship Center in West Frankfort, and had been a commercial truck driver for Cox Trucking in Murphysboro and Donald Orr Trucking of West Frankfort.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at 11 a.m. in the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with the Rev. Toedy Holley-Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Denning Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. on Friday to the funeral home. Memorials may be made o the Christian Worship Center and will be accepted at the funeral home.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Alice Lawrence of West Frankfort; two sisters, Jill Shelby and husband Robert of West Frankfort, Lynn Lamb and husband James Earl of St. Charles, Mo; a brother, Gary Ross of Benton; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
