CHARLESTON – Gene Harpster, 77, of Charleston died at 2:20 p.m. Monday (Sept. 27, 1999) at St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston. The Rev. Ray Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn cemetery, Charleston.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Edna Johnson

CISCO – Edna Margaret Johnson, 91, of Cisco died at 1 p.m. Monday (Sept. 27, 1999) at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Brintlinger's Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo. Burial will be in Croninger cemetery, Cisco.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Josephine Kent

SAVOY – Funeral services for Josephine R. Kent, 86, of Savoy, formerly of Urbana, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Road, Urbana. The Rev. H.B. "Sunny" Mooney will officiate.

Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery, Champaign.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ms. Kent died at 5:45 p.m. Monday (Sept 27, 1999) at her home.

Edward Laramee

CLINTON – Edward A. Laramee, 93, of Clinton died at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 29, 1999) in the DeWitt County Nursing Home, Clinton.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at Calvert Funeral Home, 201 S. Center St., Clinton.

Marie Lucas

SIDELL – Marie Lucas of Sidell died Tuesday (Sept. 28, 1999) at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at Carrington Funeral Home, 110 E. Court St., Fairmount.

Mary Maxwell

URBANA – Mary R. Maxwell, 96, of Urbana, formerly of Longview, died at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 28, 1999) at Manor Care of Urbana.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at Freese Funeral Home, 202 W. Main St., Sidney.

William McClard Jr.

CHAMPAIGN – William Eddy McClard Jr., 73, of Champaign died at 11:55 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 26, 1999) at the Danville Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville. The Rev. Jim Blue will officiate. Burial will be in Danville National cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Post 210.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mildred Neff

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – Mildred Parker Neff, 89, of Delray Beach, formerly of Danville, died Thursday (Sept. 23, 1999) at Boca Raton, Fla.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lakeside Funeral Chapel, 3550 N. Vermilion St., Danville. The Rev. Ken Bostwick will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville.

Alonzo Osborn

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Alonzo W. Osborn, 80, of Fort Wayne died Monday (Sept. 27, 1999) at Fort Wayne.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at E. Harper and Son Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 East, New Haven, Ind. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. cemetery, New Haven, with combined graveside rites by the American Legion and VFW posts.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Joseph Osby

CHAMPAIGN – Joseph Osby, 65, of 1305 N. Neil St., C, died at 12:18 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 29, 1999) at home.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at Twin City Memorial Chapel, 1203 N. Market St., C.

Charles Powell

FANWOOD, N.J. – Charles Wright Powell, 64, of Fanwood died Monday (Sept. 27, 1999) at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, Plainfield, N.J.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 8 p.m. at Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Ave., Cranford, N.J. Cremation will take place privately Friday.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ralph Pumphrey

CHAMPAIGN – Ralph Pumphrey, 67, of 808 W. Harvard St., C, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 29, 1999) at home.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., C.

Ethel Rainwater

MONTICELLO – Ethel Rainwater, 75, of Monticello died at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 28, 1999) at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, 215 E. Washington St., Monticello.

Don Reed

MONTICELLO – Funeral services for Don Frederick Reed, 82, of Monticello, formerly of Cisco, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine St., Arthur.

Burial will be in VanVoorhis cemetery, rural Hindsboro, with military rites conducted by Craig/Reed American Legion Post 1181 of Cisco.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Reed died at 10:45 p.m. Monday (Sept. 27, 1999) at Kirby Hospital, Monticello.

Roger Richerson

OGLESBY – Roger Wayne Richerson, 64, of Oglesby, formerly of the Ellsworth and LeRoy areas, died at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 28, 1999) at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, 101 W. Center St., LeRoy. The Rev. Brian Eble will officiate. Burial will be in Dawson cemetery, rural Ellsworth.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Eleanor Smith

GILMAN – Eleanor Smith, 82, of Gilman died at 10 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 28, 1999) at the Gilman Pavilion.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion United Methodist Church of Christ, Gilman. The Rev. Connie Williams Moodie will officiate. Burial will be in Danforth cemetery, Danforth.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Redenius Funeral Home, Gilman, is handling arrangements.
