Marie Estelle McGovern of Round Lake Beach
Funeral services for Marie Estelle McGovern, 88, will be held at 11:30 a.m. today, at Irving Park Cemetery chapel, 7777 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago. Family and friends will gather directly at the cemetery chapel.
Born Aug. 9, 1910, in Chicago, she passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at Winchester House in Libertyville.
She had made her home in Round Lake Beach for the past 15 years.
She leaves her daughter, Kathy (Bill) Smock of Round Lake Beach; son, Tim McGovern of Brooksville, Fla.; grandchildren, Victoria (Mark) Wegge of Grayslake, Lori Smock of Round Lake Beach, Susie Smock of Fox Lake and Steve Smock of Round Lake Beach; great-grandchildren, Sean and Dana Wegge; sister, Ann (Bob) Young of Chicago; brother, George (Rita) Brink of Arlington Heights; and sister-in-law, Eleanor Brink of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas on Feb. 14, 1974; and five brothers.
Arrangements were made by Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., Grayslake.

Arline M. Mundy of St. Charles
Services for Arline M. Mundy, 75, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles. Rev. William Nagy will officiate.
Born Feb. 18, 1924, in Chicago, she died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at home.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, St. Charles.
Arline graduated from Farragut High School in Chicago. She then went on to attend Bryant and Stratton Business College in Chicago. After graduation, she was employed with the U. S. Treasury Department in Chicago. She met her future husband, Bill Mundy in 1939, while attending the fair at the Littlewoods School in St. Charles. After dating for five years,Arline and Bill were married on Aug. 18, 1944, in Berwyn, Ill. Following their marriage, the couple moved to California, where Bill was stationed in the Army. After the war, they moved back to St. Charles. A short time later, Arline went to work for River Bank Acoustical Laboratory in Geneva for 30 years. Her interests included gardening and traveling throughout the world. She and her husband have traveled to all seven continents, which consists of more than 80 countries and islands. Arline and Bill had presented more than 400 travel logs to many organizations in the Chicagoland area. Arline was known for her love of decorating at Christmas time.
She and Bill spent many hours decorating their home and entertaining with their friends over the holidays. She was a member of the Wayne Township Seniors and The Friends of Baker in St. Charles.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Bill; several cousins; and aunt, Elsie Kadlec of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mae Prusa.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Donald A. Neltnor formerly of West Chicago
A memorial service for Donald A. Neltnor, 49, of Chicago, will be held at 7 p.m. today, at Norris-Walen Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago.
Rev. Ronald Sanford will officiate.
Born Aug. 14, 1949, in Aurora, he died Thursday,Feb. 18, 1999, at home.
He resided in West Chicago until he moved to Chicago 20 years ago. Mr. Neltnor had a background in civic affairs as well as extensive experience in the media and media relations, crisis media management, government affairs and producing special events. Hewas former executive director of the City Club of Chicago and board member of the Old Town Triangle Association.
Survivors include his parents, Louis and Carolyn Neltnor of West Chicago; sisters, Nancy Neltnor Adams of Boxborough, Mass., Jeanne (David Meehan) Neltnor of Geneva, Barbara Walter of Elgin and Paula (Randy) McShane of West Chicago; brothers, Gary (Lynn) of New Jersey and John (Cindy) Neltnor of West Chicago; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until the time of services today, at the funeral home.

Anton E. Noel Jr. of Woodstock
Services for Anton E. Noel Jr., 84, formerly of McHenry, will be held at noon Tuesday, at McHenry County Memorial Park chapel, 11301 Lake Ave., Woodstock.
Born Aug. 16, 1914, in Chicago, he died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock. Interment will follow.
Mr. Noel retired as a supervisor from Chicago Rawhide of Elgin, where he had been employed for 40 years.
Survivors include hiswife, Rose (nee Martin) of Woodstock; son, Donald E. (Susan) Noel of Carpentersville; daughter, Jacqueline (Edward) Steadman of Crystal Lake; grandchildren, Scott (Chastity) Bowe of Crystal Lake, Denise (Mark) Michaelis of Wonder Lake, Randy Bowe of Crystal Lake, Katie Noel of Carpentersville, and Danielle and Brittany Steadman of Crystal Lake; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Lillian Bradley of Benton, Wis.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday, at the cemetery chapel.

Joan M. Novota of Naperville
Services for Joan M. Novota (nee Nielsen), 69, formerly of Downers Grove, will be held at 1 p.m. today, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
Born Oct. 27,1929, in Chicago, she died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Interment will be in Naperville Cemetery, Naperville.
Mrs. Novota was born in Chicago and moved to Downers Grove at an early age. She was a graduate of Downers Grove High School. She then went on to earn an associate degree in business.
Mrs. Novota moved to Naperville in 1954. She was primarily a homemaker, but worked at Edward Hospital and American Nursing Home (now ManorCare) as a nurse's aide. She also later volunteered at Americana. Mrs. Novota was a resident of Martin Avenue Apartments.
Survivors include her children, Kathleen (Greg) Baker of Naperville, Timothy Novota of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Julie (Michael) Boyce of Bolingbrook; grandchildren, Shannon and Tyler Baker of Naperville, Jennifer, Marcella and Zoe Novota of Cocoa Beach, and Kelly and Jordan Boyce of Bolingbrook; sister, Natalie (Ned) Potter of San Diego,Calif.; former spouse, Robert A. Novota of Naperville; three nieces; and many friends.
She was preceded in death byher parents, John and Myrtle Nielsen.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services today, at the funeral home.

Ramon Poblet
A memorial Mass for Ramon Poblet will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 467 N. Benton St., Palatine.
He was the beloved husband of Regla Poblet (nee Barrso), and loving father of Ramon and Alexander Poblet.

Arthur C. Rock of Geneva
Funeral services for Arthur C. Rock, 80, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St., Geneva.
Born July 17, 1918, in Oak Park, the son of Edward C. and Mabel (nee Ihm), he died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at Provena Geneva Care Center. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Geneva.
Mr. Rock was employed for many years as an accountant for Western Electric in Montgomery, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Adele L. (nee Giebel); sons, Arthur C. (Shirley) of California, James K. (Karen) of Wheaton and Andrew T. (Dawn) of Geneva; grandchildren, James, Daniel, Michael, Julie, David, Christopher, Jeffrey, Megan, Anne, Thomas and Peter; sister, Dorothy Rock of Wheaton; brother, William C. (Leona) of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rock was preceded in death by his parents; son, John R.; and brother, Edward.
Visitation will be from 4to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

John P. Schmidt of Northbrook
A funeral Mass for John P. Schmidt, 88, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Our Lady of the Brook Worship Center, 3700 Dundee Road, Northbrook.
Born May 12, 1910, in Chicago, he died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at Glenview Terrace Nursing Home, Glenview. Burial will be private in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Fifty years ago, Mr. Schmidt was the co-founder of the National Machine Accountants Association. He was also founder, president and CEO of Chicago Tabulating Service in Chicago.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Schmidt (nee Rees); son, Larry Schmidt; daughters, Judy (Peter) Marino, Roberta (John) Brown, Nanette (Dennis)Brown and Mary-Lynn (Mitchell) Weinger; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the church.
In memory of Mr. Schmidt, masses or donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.

Robert N. Staflin of Des Plaines
Services for Robert N. Staflin, will be held Tuesday, at Cremation Society of Illinois, 770 Northwest Hwy., Mount Prospect.
Born Jan. 1, 1924, Mr. Staflin passed away Sunday,Feb. 21, 1999.
Survivors include his wife, Madeline Staflin of Des Plaines; son, Robert Staflin of Des Plaines; grandson, Robert Staflin Jr. of Des Plaines; sister, Ginger (Peter) Poulos of Des Plaines; sister-inlaw, Bernice Staflin of Des Plaines; and nieces and nephews, Maryanne (David) Jenkins of Des Plaines, Pat (Larry) Grose of Streamwood, Rick (Nancy) Poulos of Florida and Janice (Jim) Kowlakowski of Rolling Meadows.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Eld; brother, Larry Staflin; and nephew, Larry Staflin Jr.

Edmond B. Stofft of Arlington Heights
Funeral services for Edmond B. Stofft, 100, formerly of Park Ridge, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights.
Born July 10, 1898, in Winchester, Ill., he died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at Church Creek Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Having retired in 1960, Mr. Stofft was the vice president and counsel for Continental Illinois Bank and Trust Company.
Survivors include his wife, Ferol T. (nee Turner), whom he married on Aug. 19, 1922; son, Edmond T. (Letitia) of Boynton Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Suzanne Holland, Randall E., Cynthia, Linda Salcedo and Gary W. Stofft; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Jason A. Teafoe of Geneva
A funeral Mass for Jason Andrew Teafoe, 24, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva.
The Rev. Joseph F. Jarmoluk will officiate.
Born May 14, 1974, Jason passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 1999. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Geneva Township.
Jason was a 1992 graduate of Geneva High School and currently worked as a self-employed roofer. In his spare time, he enjoyed many sports, including golf, bowling and fishing. He was best known by his family and friends for being a free spirit and living life to the fullest. Jason touched people in many ways but will be remembered most for his smile and spontaneity.
Surviving are his mother, Linda Marie Thielman of Geneva; father, Laurence G. Teafoe ofSt. Charles; stepfather, John T. Thielman of Geneva; stepmother, Terri Teafoe of St. Charles; brothers, Jeffery Teafoe of Geneva, Jimmy Teafoe (fiancee Stacy Zipay) of Batavia and Lauren Teafoe of Wisconsin; sister, Jennifer Thielman of Geneva; stepsister, Shelley (Jeremy) Kerr of Missouri; grandparents, Bud and Lucielle Dorgan of Stevensville, Mont., Peggy and Vern Phister of St.
Charles and Jerome Teafoe of Montana; several aunts, uncles, cousins, andone extremely special nephew, Tryston John Teafoe, his little buddy as well as his pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by six great-grandparents; and great-uncle, the Rev. Joseph Teafoe of Freeport.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Yurs-Wittenberg Funeral Home, 1771 W. State St., Geneva.
