Kermit F. “Kay” Wright, 91, of Decatur, IL, passed away 9:39 a.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 5, 2007 in Pleasant Valley cemetery, Kenney, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, IL are assisting the family with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
Mr. Wright was born on August 4, 1916, in Clinton, IL, the son of Francis and Eliza (Prather) Wright. He married Eva Mears on June 21, 1941, in Atlanta, IL. She preceded him in death on April 30, 1988. He then married Ada Highley on October 7, 1988.
Mr. Wright served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1941-1945. He previously worked for A.E. Staley for 38 years, and also worked at Staley Express. Mr. Wright was a avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
He is survived by his wife Ada; children Janet Lawrence and husband Ed of Warrensburg, IL; Margie Wright of Fresno, CA; Jean Riddle and husband Phil of Warrensburg, IL; Paul Wright and wife Sheryl of Aurora, IL; Betty Mayfield of New Mexico; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; stepdaughter Michelle Sierpina and husband Vic of Galveston, TX; and sister Alice Delancey of Las Vegas, NV.
Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents, wife Eva of 44 years, daughter Betty, grandson Colin, three brothers, one sister and nephew Phil Wright.
Kermit and Eva provided a loving home for all their children, grandchildren, and 19 foster children.

John W. Yakle, Sr.

John W. Yakle, Sr., 72, of Decatur, IL., died on Friday October 5, 2007 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday (October 9, 2007) at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with Masonic Rites conducted by the Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge #979 AF & AM. Cremation rites will be accorded. Private inurnment will be Wednesday (October 10, 2007) at Harristown cemetery, Harristown, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.
John was born on September 27, 1935, the son of Ralph E. Yakle and Vada (Lappin) He married Teresa Wilcoxen in Springfield, IL. in 1962.
John made a career in the military retiring as a Master Sgt. in the United States Army in 1980, serving in Vietnam. He worked for ten years with the United States Postal Service in Decatur, IL. John was a member of the Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge # 979 AF & AM. He was also a member of the American Legion, Decatur, IL.
Surviving are his wife Teresa of Decatur, IL.; Three children: John M. Yakle and wife Anita of Jacksonville, IL., Julie Means and husband Tom of Effingham, IL., and John W. Yakle, Jr. of Decatur, IL.; Sister: Peggy Riley of Decatur, IL.; Grandchildren: Daniel, Joe, Josh, Aryn, and Andrew; One great-grandchild: Matthew; and Friend: Jeanie Vogelsang of Decatur, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Bobby Lappin.

Helen Yobski

Helen Yobski, 85 years, lifelong resident of Decatur, passed away at 5:00 p.m., February 23, 2008, at Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Denver, Colorado. Visitation services will be at 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 29, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 1 at the funeral home. Burial services will follow at Graceland cemetery Decatur, IL.
Helen was born January 31, 1923, daughter of Lewis and Grace Staab. She had two sisters, Cecile and Mary. Helen married Jack Yobski Sr. on March 22, 1943, and celebrated 63 wonderful years together. They had one son Jack Jr.
Helen was a dedicated homemaker all of her life. She was also instrumental in making the Jack F. Yobski Realty Company a success. Her first job was with Mueller Co. in Decatur.
She loved spending time with her family. She was an avid golfer and won a medal for her skills in the Senior Olympics. She enjoyed card playing, cooking and sports. She was a huge fan of the University of Illinois Fighting Illini basketball team.
She is survived by granddaughter Lora Sattler and husband Stephen, and great grandchildren 9 year old triplets Luke, Kyle and Paige, of Littleton, Colorado; and granddaughter Jennifer Cade, and husband Greg, and great grandchildren Avalon, 5 years old, and Trinity, 23 months, of Empire Colorado, and sister, Cecile Mosser of Decatur, IL.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Sr, son, Jack Jr., and sister Mary Barding.

Turner W. York

Turner W. York, 89. of Cerro Gordo, IL., passed away on Friday (November 23, 2007) at 9:23 A.M. in McKinley Court Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday (November 27, 2007) at Brintlinger and Earl Cerro Gordo Funeral Home, with visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday (November 26, 2007) at Brintlinger and Earl Cerro Gordo Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo cemetery, Cerro Gordo, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: the Cerro Gordo Ambulance Service.
Mr. York was born on April 5, 1918, the son of Lorena York. He married Ann Elizabeth Igleheart August 4, 1939 in Dyersburg, TN.
He was raised in the Baptist faith, and after moving to Cerro Gordo became a member of The Church of the Brethren in Cerro Gordo. Turner was a member of the Piatt Co. Farm Bureau and served on the Board of Directors. He farmed for many years retiring in 1984. Turner also sold Pioneer Seeds for 21 years. He enjoyed going to the mall and meeting people.
Surviving are his wife Ann Elizabeth York of 68 years of marriage; two sons: Russell York and wife Mary Jo of Cerro Gordo, IL and Gerald York and wife Valerie of San Diego, CA.; two grandsons: Michael York and wife Dawn of Cerro Gordo, IL, and Adam York of San Diego, CA; two granddaughters: Christine Reed and husband Brian of Sherman, IL, and Gina Boccia and husband Guy of Chula Vista, Ca.; and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Wright Freeland

BARRINGTON – Wright “Doc” Freeland, 80, of Barrington, formerly of Rantoul, died Wednesday (May 29, 2002) at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Village Church of Barrington, 1600 E. Main St., Barrington.

The Rev. Dave Barber will officiate.

Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Barrington.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St., Barrington.

Mary Leevey

CLINTON – Funeral services for Mary Joan Leevey, 67, of Clinton will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Calvert Funeral Home, 201 S. Center St., Clinton.

The Rev. Tracy Ray will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Clinton.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Leevey died at noon Thursday (May 30, 2002) at LeRoy Manor, LeRoy.

Clifford McGuire

OKEECHOBEE, Fla. – Funeral services for Clifford A. McGuire, 88, of Okeechobee, formerly of Perdueville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ford-Baier Funeral Home, 406 E. Pells St., Paxton.

The Rev. Chet Travis will officiate.

Burial will be in Glen cemetery, Paxton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. June 5, at the funeral home.

Mr. McGuire died at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday (May 29, 2002) at Okeechobee Health Care Facility.

Emil Mosser

WHITE HEATH – Emil Mosser, 77, of White Heath died at 6:34 p.m. Thursday (May 30, 2002) at Kirby Hospital, Monticello.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church, 1509 W. John St., C.

Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery, Champaign.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy.

Michael Palmisano

CHAMPAIGN – Michael V. Palmisano, 79, of Champaign died at 9:50 p.m. Thursday (May 30, 2002) at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 403 W. Clark St., C.

The Rev. Albert Hallin will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery, Champaign.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, with a wake service at 3:45 p.m., at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign.

Leota Roberts

ARTHUR – Leota Pearl Roberts, 88, of Arthur died at 1 a.m. Friday (May 31, 2002) at the Arthur Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine St., Arthur.

The Rev. James Elder will officiate.

Burial will be in Arthur cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Eleanore Schafer

CHRISMAN – Eleanore S. Schafer, 85, of Chrisman died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday (May 30, 2002) at Golden Oaks Nursing Center, Enid, Okla.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Scott-Bolen Funeral Home, 602 E. Madison Ave., Chrisman.

The Rev. Richard Mick will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery, Danville.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Douglas Smith

RANTOUL – Douglas M. Smith, 54, of Rantoul, formerly of Georgetown, died at 10:12 p.m. Tuesday (May 28, 2002) at Rantoul.

Funeral services will be at noon Monday at the First Missionary Baptist Church, 306 W. 14th St., Georgetown.

The Rev. Clyde H. Brooks will officiate.

Burial will be in Forrest Park cemetery, Georgetown.

Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove, Rantoul, and from 11 a.m. to noon Monday at the church.

Leek and Sons Funeral Home, Danville, is also handling arrangements.

Karen Tinder

DANVILLE – Karen Tinder, 60, of Danville died at 3:30 a.m. Friday (May 31, 2002) at SunBridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Danville.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville.

The Rev. James Blue will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Robert Ward

CHAMPAIGN – Robert Ward, 50, of 1204 Hedge Road, C, died at 12:55 a.m. Friday (May 31, 2002) at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at Twin City Memorial Chapel, Champaign.

Lona Wilkey

SAVOY – Lona Myrtle Wilkey, 93, of Savoy died at 11 p.m. Thursday (May 30, 2002) at The Carle Arbours, Savoy.

Memorial services will be at a later date in the Paloma cemetery, Paloma.

Morgan Memorial Home, Savoy, is in charge of arrangements.
