Joan Belle Meyer of Kildeer
Prayers for Joan Belle Meyer (nee Northup), 64, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St Francis de Sales Church in Lake Zurich. The Rev. Rich Yanos will officiate.
Born Oct. 9, 1934, in Escanaba, Mich., the daughter of Donald and Katherine (nee Grill) Northrup, she died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998, at her residence, following a lengthy illness. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel cemetery, Palatine.
Mrs. Meyer graduated from Escanaba High School in 1952 and then attended Evanston Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated with her nursing degree in 1956. On March 2, 1957, she married
James Daley Meyer at St. Athanasuis Church in Evanston. Joan also received her B. S. degree from St. Francis College and her master's from the University of Illinois.
She resided for several years in Boulder, Colo. before moving to Arlington Heights, and most recently lived in Kildeer. For 28 years, she had been employed as a school nurse for District #23, Prospect Heights.
Survivors include her husband, James Daley Meyer; mother, Katherine (Grill) Northup of Mount Prospect; sons, Donald (Teri) Meyer of Paris, France, James (Karen) Meyer of Palatine and Michael Meyer (Linda Coronado) of Palatine; daughter, Lori J. (John) Heffernan of Highland Village, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and sister, Lorranine Henderson of St. Albans, W. Va.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald A. Northup.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Jaclyn `Jackie' Michelle Knewitz of Lily Lake
A funeral Mass for Jaclyn `Jackie' Michelle Knewitz, 11, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Saint Peter and Paul Church, Meredith Rd., Virgil, Ill.
Fr. Aloysius Neumann will officiate.
Born Aug. 13, 1987, in DuQuoin, Ill., the daughter of John Michael and Arlene Rose (nee Doland) Knewitz, she died suddenly Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, where she was taken following an auto accident. Burial will be in Lily Lake cemetery, Lily Lake.
Jackie and her family lived in St. Charles until Jackie was four years old, when they moved to make their home in Lily Lake. Jackie was a student in the sixth grade at Central Middle School in Burlington. She attended the Lily Lake Elementary School from Kindergarten through third grade, and Howard B. Thomas Elementary School for fourth and fifth grade, where she played fifth grade basketball.
She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Church in Virgil, where she was an altar server and in CCD. Active in the A.Y.S.O. Outlanders Soccer Club, Jackie played forward and goalie, scoring her team's only goalin her last game on Saturday for a 1-0 win. She was a member of the Central Softball League, where she played on the `Cubs' team as catcher and first baseman. Her interest in sports continued as she aspired to someday be in theWomen's National Basketball Association. She was also a drummer in the school band.
Jackie was deeply loved by her brothers, Dan and Scott, and was always ready to basketball with them. Her eyes were mischievous and she was quick with a joke, keeping everyone laughing. She always put her `all' into everything she did. Jaclyn loved playing games with her family, `Charades' and `Sorry' were her favorites. She enjoyed playing with little children and liked to help them. She loved talking on the phone. `I Love Lucy', `Boy Meets World', `Full House' and `Wonder Years' were her favorite television programs. A child who loved school, Jackie's favorite subjects were spelling and math, and her teachers were her role models. Perhaps that is what influenced her to want to be a teacher or a doctor when she grew up.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brothers, Daniel Alan (12) and Scott Anthony (8); maternal grandparents, William and Corrine Doland of Long Grove; paternal grandparents, John and Gladys Knewitz of Belleville, Ill.; great-grandfather, Gus Knewitz of Belleville; great-grandmother, Mary Matthis of Cicero; aunts, uncles and cousins, William Doland II of Barrington, Carol (Lawrence) Weber of Louisville, Ky. and their children, Megan, Melissa and Meredith, Diane (James) Rosemeyer of Mount Prospect and their children, Bill, Ray and Mary Clare, Elissa Doland of Schaumburg, Frank (Karen) Doland of Lincoln, Neb.
George W. Mitchinson of St. Charles
Services for George W. Mitchinson, 53, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St., St. Charles. Father William R. Burden will officiate.
Born Aug. 29, 1945, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of George Woodrow and Mary (nee Grier) Mitchinson, he died Monday, Oct. 26, 1998, at Mercy Center in Aurora.
Mr. Mitchinson was an industrial technology teacher at West Aurora High School for 24 years.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Barbara (nee Cody); two sons, who like their father, are both teachers, William (Sara) Mitchinson of South Elgin and Michael Mitchinson of South Elgin; grandchild, Benjamin Mitchinson; sisters, Carol (Ron) Kruger of Henry, Ill. and Mary Beth Mitchinson of Schaumburg; brother, Thomas (Bonnie) Mitchinson of Naperville; and mother-in-law, Georgia Cody of Wheaton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lee A. Mores of Deerfield

Judith Ann Mosenson of Elgin

Born May 31, 1949, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Vern and Geraldine Cooler Childers, she died peacefully surrounded by her family, at her home, Monday, Oct. 26, 1998, after a courageous struggle with breast cancer.
Judy is survived by her husband, Jerry, to whom she was married
for 25 years, and their beloved children, Jason and Jeffrey. She was adored by all who knew her, including her brother, Chris (Patricia) Childers of Cary; sister, Margaret (Steve) Hall of Boca Raton, Fla.; Lester and Chere Morrison of Elgin and Robin and Bill Berry of Deerfield; mother-in-law, Natalie Mosenson; and her best friends, Pat, Fran and Val.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John.
Judy asked that she be remembered for her health, vitality and sense of humor. Judy was, and always will be, the very heart and soul of our lives.

Michael J. Reczek of Arlington Heights

Mr. Reczek, an Army veteran of World War II, worked as an assistant foreman for the United States Post Office with 42 years of service. He retired in 1984.
He was a member of Polish American Federal Employees, Amvets and the Chopin Park Post Polish Legion.
He was the loving husband of Emily M. (nee Stachnik), they married
March 19, 1944, in Cicero; dearest father of Paul E. (Joanne) Reczek of Niles; dear grandfather of Brian M. and Sherry M. Reczek; dear brother of William J. Darlene Ruth Sass of Marengo
Services for Darlene Ruth Sass, 55, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, atSt.

Born Sept. 24, 1943, to Harold and Ruth (nee Miner) Bean, she died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998, at her home. Interment will be in Marengo City cemetery.
Mrs. Sass was employed at Harris Bank in Woodstock for more than 11 years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Union and was very active in their adult choir, the AAL, the Ladies Aid, and the Altar Guild, and also served in the Stephen Ministry.
Survivors include her husband, Roger H. Sass, whom she married
Oct. 25 1969, in Marengo; children, Roger Jr., Renee and Michelle, all of Marengo; sisters, June Sarbaugh and Phyllis (Russell) Reed, both of Woodstock; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Hansing.

Norbert J. Smith of McHenry
A funeral Mass for Norbert J. Smith, 76, formerly of Johnsburg, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Church of the Holy Apostle, 5211 W. Bull Valley Road, McHenry.
Born Dec. 15, 1921, in Johnsburg, Ill., to Fred J. and Clara M. (nee Schmitt) Smith, he passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998, at his home. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist cemetery, Johnsburg.
Mr. Smith was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army. He worked in the family business at Smith Central Garage in Johnsburg from the age of 14 until he was 56.
He also worked for 20 years at Community Auto Supply in McHenry.
He was a member of many organizations which included the McHenry VFW for more than 50 years, and the McHenry Moose Lodge #691 since 1978.
Mr. Smith was one of the eleven original members of the McHenry Township Protection District - Company #2 from May 1954until his retirement in 1981, and a member of the Johnsburg Tigers Baseball team, playing 2nd base.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane Pirrello of Roscoe; sons, Norbert `Bud' (Marge) Smith of McHenry and James (Therese) Smith of Johnsburg; grandchildren, Gina Pirello of Appleton, Wis., Katie Pirello of Roscoe, N. Tod Smith of McHenry, Erin Smith of Winona, Minn., and Vicki and Lisa Smith of Johnsburg; brothers, Fred (Irma) and Harry (Luan) Smith, bothof Johnsburg; and sister, Marie Krueger of Phoenix, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine M. Smith, on July 22, 1990; and son, Paul Smith, at birth on Sept. 28, 1946.

Joseph E. Voras of Elk Grove Village

Mr. Voras, a World War II veteran of the Navy, was the retired owner of Turner Florist of Chicago. He lived in Elk Grove Village for 30 years.
He was the husband of the late Angeline A. (nee Prino), who preceded him in death in 1992; father of Raymond R. (Kathleen) Voras and Judith A. (Richard) Mitchell; brother of Jeannette (Peter) Ruetten; and grandfather of Deana and Mark Mitchell.
