Ruby E. Davis of Gurnee
Services for Ruby E. Davis, 91, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee.
Born Jan. 8, 1907, in Gurnee, she died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998, at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion. Interment will be in Warren cemetery, Gurnee.
She was a lifelong resident of Gurnee, and was a member of Royal Neighbors of America, Warren cemetery Association and Warren Township Senior Citizens. Ruby's great-great-grandmother was Mother Rudd, and her home which is a historical marker, is located at Old Grand Ave. and Kilbourne Road in Gurnee.
She is survived by her children, Patsy (Robert) Martin of Florida, Joyce Pierce of Texas and Clifford (Patricia) Davis of Wadsworth; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 20 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Davis on Jan. 13, 1978; son, Larry Davis in 1994; brother, Emmett Anderson; and sister, Bessie Benson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Thomas Duff, 80, of Naperville, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998.

Beatrice E. Fisk, 87, of Lombard, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998.

Jean M. French of Carol Stream
Services for Jean M. French, 85, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at the Fox Valley Presbyterian Church, 227 East Side Dr., Geneva, IL 60134.
Born Nov. 21, 1912, in Paw Paw, Ill., she died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Interment will be in Wyoming Township cemetery in Paw Paw.
A resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, formerly of Paw Paw, Beecher and Joliet, Mrs. French was a high school librarian and teacher in Joliet for 15 years.
Survivors include her husband, John H. French; daughters, Judith Bradford of Winfield and Jane E. (Mel) Yow of California; grandchildren, Ron DaRosa, Laurie Siebel, Eric Klein, Dave DuMonde, Erin Hirschland and Melanie Yow; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Travis and C. J.; and niece, Martha Rosacker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A. C. and Lucy McBride; sister, Ruth; and brother, John.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton.

Anna Gronemeier formerly of Bartlett
Services for Anna Gronemeier (nee Ishessen), 96, of Fort Wayne Ind., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Martin Funeral Home, 333 S. Roselle Rd., Roselle.
Born Nov. 12, 1901, in York Center, Ill., she died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
A homemaker, she was the wife of the late William Gronemeier; mother of Howard of Vallejo, Calif. and Grace Schweizer of Fort Wayne; sister of Laura Ebeling of Roselle; grandmother of six; great-grandmother of 12; and great-great-grandmother of two.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Joyce A. Knapik of Mount Prospect
A funeral Mass for Joyce A. Knapik (nee Cote), 57, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Raymond Catholic Church, 301 S. Ioka (Ioka and Elmhurst), Mount Prospect.
Born Oct. 4, 1941, in South Bend, Ind., she died Monday, Oct. 26, 1998. Burial will be in Memory Garden cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Knapik was employed as a data entry clerk for Wheels, Inc. in Des Plaines.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Frank Knapik; daughter, Christine (Robert) Goodman; son, Daniel (Michele) Knapik; grandchildren, Michael and Amy Goodman, and Baby Knapik; and sisters, Shirley Clifton and Carol Anderson.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, and from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m.
Thursday, at the church.

Lt. Paul H. LaDouceur Jr., CFD of Chicago
Services for Lt. Paul H. LaDouceur Jr., 57, retired from the Chicago Fire Department, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton.
He died Monday, Oct. 26, 1998. Interment will be private.
Lt. LaDouceur had retired in 1996 after 30 years with the Chicago Fire Department. He was active in church ministries with the Northwest Assembly of God Church in Mount Prospect and was a member of the Chicago Christian Firefighters Association. He was also an author.
He was the loving son of the late Paul H. Sr. and Alberta LaDouceur; beloved brother of Gary (Sherry), Jeanne Mabbitt, David and Rick (Jan) LaDouceur; fond uncle of seven nieces and two nephews; and great-uncle of five.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Paul LaDouceur Memorial Fund, c/o the funeral home would be appreciated.

Virginia Ann Lambert of Naperville
Services for Virginia Ann Lambert, 75, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, from Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, proceeding to Sts. Peter & Paul Church, 26 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Born June 19, 1923, in Plymouth, Wis., she died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998, at Alexian Brothers Hospice House, Elk Grove Village. Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul cemetery, Naperville.
Mrs. Lambert had been a resident of Naperville since 1955 and had worked as a nurses' aid in several of the area hospitals. She was a veteran, having served in the Navy. She was a member ofthe Naperville Moose Auxiliary and Sts. Peter & Paul Church. Among her personal interests, she enjoyed playing cards, bingo and bowling.
Survivors include her sons, David Glen (Gail) Lambert of Aurora, Patrick (Lupe) Lambert of Aurora, Michael (Joanne) Lambert of Aurora, Bruce Lambert of Naperville, Steven Lambert of Naperville and David Michael Lambert of Naperville; daughters, Nancy (Lee) Hagemeier of Marengo and Kim (Chuck) Rice of Bolingbrook; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elra Lambert; brother, Roman Miley; and parents, Giles and Margaret Miley.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Jean V. Mertlick of Mount Prospect
Services for Jean V. Mertlick (nee Wloch), 79, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights.
Born Nov. 18, 1918, in Chicago, she died Monday, Oct. 26, 1998. Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum.
A homemaker, she was the wife of the late LeRoy C.; mother of LeRoy R. (Beverly) of Schaumburg, Richard W. (Janice) of Florida and Eugene R. (Christine) of Cary; grandmother of Lisa (Rick) DeSalvo, Jolee (Alex) Nagy, and Kelly, Kerry, Nathan, Tiffany and Matthew; and great-grandmother of Jamie, Kaitlin and Alex Nagy.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Sophie Pieniazek of Schaumburg
Prayers for Sophie Pieniazek (nee Drabik), 90, will be said at 9 a.m. Thursday, at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Rd. ), Roselle.
Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Hubert Church, Hoffman Estates. Interment will be in St. Adalbert cemetery, Niles.
She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas; devoted mother of Ann (George) Stermer, Thomas (Mary) Pieniazek, Eillen (William) Martyn, Kathleen (Richard) Lays and the late Theresa (Henry) Powaziak and Julia (Leo) Czajkowski; loving daughter of the late George and Anna Drabik; fond grandmother of Richie Lays Jr. and 10 other loving grandchildren; loving great grandmother of eight; and dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral chapel.

Merry Potter of Wauconda
A memorial Mass for Merry Potter, 79, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at Transfiguration Church, Wauconda. Father Tom will be the celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church at the time of Mass.
Born in Chicago, she passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, at home.
She was the wife of Kenneth A. Potter, mayor of Wauconda from 1969 to 1973. They built and operated the Wauconda Dog n' Suds Restaurant in Wauconda from 1965 to 1986.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 59 years, Kenneth; daughters, Patricia (John) Frederick of Indianapolis, Ind. and Leigh (Rick) Wessel of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; grandchildren, Terry Gray of Indianapolis and Tammy Gray-Johnson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; great-grandchild, Amber Gray of Indianapolis; and sister, Bernice Goral of Chicago.
Merry was well known for her love of animals so we are requesting that in lieu of flowers, all contributions be made to Orphans of the Storm, 2200 Riverwoods Rd., Riverwoods, IL 60015.
