Annabelle Boldini, 87, of Decatur, IL, died 12:53 P.M., Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 5 to 7 P.M., Friday, April 4, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Ponting cemetery, Stonington, IL.
Memorials may be made to DOVE Clothing Room or Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
Grandma Ann Boldini never revealed all the secrets to her strawberry pie, vegetable soup or fried chicken. Unfortunately, she died unexpectedly April 2, 2008, at the age of 87, taking those secrets with her.
Born Annabelle Cammack in Anderson County, Kentucky on April 15, 1920, one of eight children. Her family later moved to Corydon, Indiana, where much of the extended family remains. Of the seven siblings, only her sister Georgia Tilton, of Decatur survives.
As part of the home front effort during World War II, she worked as a riveter for Curtiss-Wright in Louisville, Kentucky. She remained proud of her service and recalled the nights fixing damaged planes and building new ones.
Through her cousin, she met WWII veteran, Samuel O. Boldini of Stonington. The two married
March 8, 1947 and made their home in Decatur but she never drifted away from Southern cooking. He preceded her in death after almost 50 years of marriage.
The couple had two daughters, Jetta Boldini of Springfield and Kathy (Randy) Massey of Maroa; two granddaughters Sarah Bjelland of Decatur and Sonja Bjelland of Riverside, California.
Her service to the community was not limited to being a Rosie the Riveter. She volunteered and was chairperson of the DOVE Clothing Room for 18 years while a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. During this time she served as a president and vice president of the U.M.W. She enjoyed working with DOVE including meals on wheels and fingerprinting. After the closure of that church she joined Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
In her 80's, she determined, she was finally old enough to begin making quilts. She recently finished theembroidery on her latest quilt and had plans for more.

Scott Michael Bolsen, 50, of Hammond, IL, passed away on November 28, 2007.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 3, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m., Sunday, December 2, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Keller cemetery, Lovington, IL.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Scott was born on July 3, 1957, in Decatur, the son of Charles H. and Norma J. (Trulock) Bolsen. He married
Cathy L. Snoke on January 20, 1978 in Cerro Gordo, IL.
Scott was employed by Oye Trucking Company in Tuscola, IL. He was a member of Bement Masonic Lodge and SAL Post #117 Cerro Gordo.
Surviving are his wife Cathy of Hammond, IL; daughters Andrea B. Ritchie and husband Greg of Philo, IL; Amanda J. Bolsen and companion Jason Parish of Cerro Gordo, IL; his mother Norma Snoke and her husband Lee of Monticello, IL; grandchildren Devin, Emily, Hudson, Stella, and Addison; sister Theresa Snoke and husband David of Findlay, IL; brother Charles E. Bolsen and wife Laurie of Mt. Zion, IL; sister Dee McNamara and husband Dale of Oakley, IL; grandfather Chester Trulock of Sullivan, IL.
Scott was preceded in death by his father Charles H. Bolsen.
Scott was first and foremost a family man. He loved his family, friends, riding his motorcycle, spending time with his grandchildren and making people laugh. He will be missed by everyone he touched.

Kathy S. Derbort, 44, of Warrensburg, IL, died 4:39 P.M., Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Kathy was born October 15, 1963, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Rolla and Norma G. (Wood) Brooks. She married
Jason A. Derbort on May 24, 1997, in Maroa, IL.
Kathy was a graduate of MacArthur High School. She worked as an Independent Retail Merchandiser for the past 4 years, and prior to that she served as a Paramedic for Decatur Ambulance Service for several years. Kathy loved animals, mostly cats, and enjoyed camping. She especially enjoyed devoting her time to her daughter Kacey.
She is survived by her husband Jason and daughter Kacey of Warrensburg, IL; mother Norma G. Brooks of Warrensburg, IL; brother Albert (Shirley) Hensley of Decatur, IL, sisters Jackie (Ben) Bundy of Decatur, IL, Cheryl McCurdy of Decatur, IL, Debra (Ben) Slomski of Brookfield, IL; mother-in-law Jackie (Craig) Goeppinger of Argenta, IL; father-in-law Robert (Sherri) Derbort of Moweaqua, IL; sisters-in-law Lee-Ann (Greg) Burgener of Decatur, IL, Stacie Derbort of Argenta, IL.
She was preceded in death by her father Rolla Brooks.

Hildegard W. Bonds, 88, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2008, at Imboden Creek Living Center.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 14, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to Lutheran School Association.
Mrs. Bonds was born December 13, 1919, in Decatur, the daughter of Paul and Caroline (Duscha) Jeschawitz. She married
Wayne “Pete” Bonds in September 1978. He preceded her in death in February 1993.
Mrs. Bonds worked as an inspector at G.E. and Taylor Pharmaceutical, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Surviving are her daughters Pamela A. Poland and husband Zeb of Forsyth, IL; Nancy C. Clements and husband David of Wilson, N.C.; grandchildren Andrea O’Brien and husband Sean of Wilson, N.C.; Kara Wilkey and husband Ryan of Maroa, IL; Chuck Poland and wife Melissa of Moweaqua, IL; Jodi Poland of Maroa, IL; great grandchildren Andrew and Lindsay Poland of Moweaqua, IL; Mallory O’Brien of Wilson, N.C.; and sister Ruth Greene of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, five brothers, and great granddaughter Alyssa Poland Selinger.

Katharina Elizabeth Bordner, 80, of Decatur, died September 21, 2007, with family at home.
A celebration of Kathi’s life for her family and friends will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur.
Kathi was born April 5, 1927, in Mainz, Germany, to Johann and Maria Dudtenhofer. She was a “war bride” who married
Paul Bordner of Decatur August 9, 1947. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2006. She emigrated in 1948 and promptly became a U.S. citizen, a life-long point of honor. She was a mother of four and motherly to many throughout her working life as a waitress at Greider’s Cafe, The Farm, and finally at The Brown Jug where, for twenty-five years she was the waitress the diners waited for. Family and friends will always remember her cheerful hello followed by “can I get you something to eat?”
Kathi is survived by: sons, John (June) Bordner of San Clemente, CA; William (Connie) Bordner of Decatur, IL; Gary (Jo) Bordner of Decatur, IL; daughter Vicki (Brad) Haglund of Reno, NV; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two sisters.
Her parents and husband preceded her in death.

Richard “Dell” W. Brace, 76, of Decatur, IL, died 9:39 P.M., Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 13, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 P.M., Friday, October 12, and one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
Dell was born July 30, 1931, in Lewistown, MO, the son of Glen and Dessie (Humphrey) Brace. He married
Geraldine A. Prebe on March 15, 1952 in Cheyenne, WY.
Mr. Brace was a member of United Baptist Church. He worked as Sales Manager at Newman Uhlman for 37 years, before retiring in 1996. Dell was a member of the American Legion Post 105 and held the position of Post Commander. He was a past Chef De Guerre of the 40 & 8 and National Director of Child Welfare and Nursing. He also was a member of the V.F.W. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Geraldine of Decatur, IL; children Michael Brace and wife Mary Jo of Decatur, IL, Brian Brace and wife Juanita of Tuscola, IL, Kelly Brace and wife Suzanne of Sedalia, MO; 4 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 8 step- great-grandchildren and a sister Jean Tompkins of Quincy, IL.

Jack G. Brown, 69, of Cerro Gordo, died at his residence, Monday, November 5, 2007.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Cerro Gordo. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 P.M. Wednesday November 7, 2007 at the funeral home in Cerro Gordo. Burial will be at the Cerro Gordo cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Cerro Gordo Ambulance Service or the Cerro Gordo Brethren Church.
Jack was born May 8, 1938, in Decatur, IL, the son of Alvin A. and Sibyl L. (Dobson) Brown. He married
Carolyn J. Miller on August 11, 1963 in Cerro Gordo, IL.
Jack was a full time barber for four or five years. He enjoyed CB radios, and collecting die cast cars. He attended the Cerro Gordo Brethren Church.
Surviving are his wife Carolyn; one son, Eric L. (wife, Cindy J.) Brown of Oakley; one grandson Dillan A Brown of Oakley; one sister, Carol A. (husband, Tom) Hyde of Cerro Gordo; one niece, Cheri (husband, Otto) Leslie of Decatur; one nephew Steve McGhee, serving in Korea; sister-in-law, Julie Miller of Wales UK; and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Barbara, one niece Debra; one nephew, Jamie McGhee.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Shackelford and his staff for their loving care, and also to Nancy Vulgamott, D.M.H. Hospice, and to all of our friends and neighbors.
Dorothy Louise (Darnell) Brown

Dorothy Louise (Darnell) Brown, 80, of Decatur, went home to be with her Savior and join her husband on Saturday, January 5th, 2008 at 8:54 a.m., in her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family. She fought a determined battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome since March.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with the Pastor Roger Larson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be at Old Stonington cemetery.
Dorothy was born June 27, 1927, to George and Wanda (Seifred) Darnell in Garrison, IL. She grew up in Mt. Auburn and Warrensburg. She moved to Stonington where she lived until moving to Decatur in 1978.
She married
Monte DeWitt “De” Brown on December 4, 1949. He passed away on June 6, 1999. She was a self employed beautician for many years, but devoted her life to her family. She loved attending church and Bible studies and taught Sunday School for many years. She also loved camping and traveling with her husband and spending time with her grandsons and family.
She is survived by her daughters Deneil Thompson and husband Rodney of Decatur, and Dana Brown of Portland OR; grandsons Kyle Thompson of Sullivan, Kristopher Thompson and wife Rebecca of Decatur; and Kalen Thompson of Minneapolis, MN; step great granddaughter Haley Lynn Whitney and an unborn great grandson due in February. Also surviving are brother James Darnell and wife Virginia of Sullivan; sister-in-law Faye Swanson and husband Jim of Silver City, NM; sister-in-law Leona Brown of Decatur; a host of beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A special thank you to all the friends and family that helped during this time, the women from Addus, especially Jennifer, Meals On Wheels, the excellent care provided from the Outpatient Care Unit staff and 6400 staff at Decatur Memorial Hospital and especially Dr. Esparaz for his kindness and patience.
