Robert Edwin Conrad, 87, of Decatur, IL, died 11:25 P.M., Tuesday, November 6, 2007, at Aspen Ridge Care Center, Decatur, IL.
Liturgy service will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 10, 2007, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 4 to 7 P.M., Friday, November 9, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery, Decatur, IL.
Robert was born May 27, 1920, in Decatur, IL, the son of Harold E. and Carmen (Cormican) Conrad. He married Jennie Morani on August 14, 1943 in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death on August 19, 1992.
Robert was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He worked for Norfolk & Western Railroad for 27 years, retiring in 1978. Robert was a member of American Legion Post #105, V.F.W. #99, D.A.V. #17, Golden “K” Kiwanis and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII.
He is survived by his sons Robert Conrad and wife Roberta of Springfield, IL, Anthony Conrad and wife Melva of Corpus Christi, TX; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Jennie.

Daniel E. Covey

Daniel E. Covey, 33, of Decatur, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at Loyola University Hospital, Maywood, IL.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 13, 2007, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation 6-8 P.M. Friday, October 12, at the funeral home. The family requests casual attire. Burial will be in Boiling Springs cemetery, Decatur.
Memorials may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Gift of Hope.
Daniel was born October 11, 1973, in Decatur, the son of George and Connie (Moreland) Covey. He worked at Decatur Memorial Hospital as a medical equipment technician. Daniel enjoyed golf, pool and darts, and he was an avid Cardinal fan. He really adored his two nephews, Braden and Clayton.
Daniel is survived by his mother and step-father, Connie and Bill Baker of Decatur; brothers, Brian Covey of Decatur and Jeremy Covey and wife Rachael of Cameron, MO; aunt, Bonnie Grunden and companion Mike Ater of Decatur; companion, Jill Covey of Decatur; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Covey and his grandparents.

Byford Lawrence Eldridge

Byford Lawrence Eldridge, 82, of Decatur, IL, died Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur, IL.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 25, 2008, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with Dr. Charles Witte officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
Byford was born October 12, 1925, in Bonnie, Illinois, the son of Lawrence and Cecil (Farthing) Eldridge. He married Barbara Ruth Bayne on October 9, 1949, in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Byford retired from Caterpillar after 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving his country in WWII in the Philippines. Byford was a member of the Moose Lodge 684 and a Lifetime Member of Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara of Decatur, IL; daughters Jane Gardner, Nancy McCain and husband Daniel, all of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Matthew Dial and wife Erika, Justin Dial and wife Jennifer, Stefanie Gardner; great grandchildren Nicholas, Elizabeth, and David Dial.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank the team of physicians, respiratory therapists and loving ICU nursing staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for their care and compassion.

Helen L. Ellison

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 5, 2007, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Graceland cemetery, Decatur, IL.
Memorials may be made to Donor’s Choice or Alzheimer’s Association.
Helen was born September 24, 1922, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of George and Rebecca (Allen) Tapscott. She married Robert R. Ellison on November 20, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1978.
Helen was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She is survived by her children Thomas “Tom” T. Ellison and wife Jean of Decatur, IL, Robert “Bob” G. Ellison and wife Judy of Decatur, IL, Martha Jane Grant and husband Roy Adams of Dallas, TX, Michael “Mike” Ellison of San Francisco, CA, John Ellison and wife Toni of Decatur, IL, David Ellison of Decatur, IL; 12 grandchildren: Julie Romer (Rojo), Eric Ellison, Tim Ellison (Lesley), Scott Ellison (Deanna), Daniel Ellison (Laura), Theresa Jull (Terry), Leah Chastain, Erik Grant, Brandon Ellison, Robert Jacob Ellison, Brittney Ellison, and Taylor Ellison; 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert R., 2 grandchildren, 11 brothers and 1 sister.

Stephen H. Eyer

Mr. Eyer was born on September 9, 1940, in Peoria, IL, the son of Harold and Mildred (Eickman) Eyer. He married Euna (Ernie) McMullen in 1970, in Frankford, IN. Mr. Eyer was a member of Electrical Engineering Fraternity at the University of Illinois where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Business. Mr. Eyer was a Numismatist, selling collectible coins and paper currency all over the world.
Mr. Eyer is survived by his wife Euna (Ernie) of Mt. Zion, IL and daughter Susan Wainscott and husband Brian of N. Las Vegas, NV.
Mr. Eyer was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 29, 2008, at Christian Fellowship Church, 2199 N. Water St., Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, February 28, at the church. Burial will be in Salem cemetery, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund for Pamela’s son, Scott L. Ide, in care of Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, 2827 N. Oakland Avenue, Decatur, IL 62526.
Pamela was born July 25, 1959, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Rev. Willis E. and Patricia A. (Lindsley) Fisher. She was a production worker for Self Help Enterprise in Sterling, IL. Pamela attended First Baptist Church in Sterling, IL, and formerly Maranatha Assembly of God, Decatur, IL, where she was a member of the choir.
She is survived by her son Scott L. Ide of Dixon, IL; parents Willis and Patricia of Decatur, IL; brothers and sisters Michael E. Fisher of Rogers, AR, Cathy D. Ahlrich and husband Dale of Decatur, IL, Steven E. Fisher and wife Rose of Vandalia, IL, Angela R. Welsh and husband Mike of Moline, IL, Melinda M. Thorngren and husband Paul of Silvis, IL, Katrina A. Riley and husband Erick of Pana, IL, Kevin S. Fisher and wife Carolyn of Pensacola, FL; and was an aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Velasco and Hospice Nurses Laurie, Erin and Rachel for their care and compassion.

Herndon Foreman

Herndon Foreman, 74, of Decatur, died at 5:50 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2008, in his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, at Community Temple Church of God In Christ, 759 S. Jackson Street, Decatur. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, Decatur.
Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois.
Herndon was born on September 8, 1934, in Tallahassee, FL, and raised in New York City. He was the son of Jerry and Wilma Foreman.
While in New York, Herndon was employed by Mike Domico, and served in the Air Force. He married Vivian Foreman on September 15, 1977; soon after they moved to Decatur, IL. In Decatur, Herndon worked for CB&A; and Wagners Casting as a Millwright. He was a great carpenter and concrete worker. He worked many jobs for several people in his church and community. He also enjoyed fishing, working in the garden, public service work for his church, and spending time with his family.
May the gates of Heaven be open and his soul rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Herndon accepted Christ on the 27th of August 1989, at Community Temple Church of God In Christ, Pastor Willie F. Newbon.
Surviving are his wife Vivian Foreman of Decatur; children William and Beverly Foreman of Decatur; Betty and Jim Lentz of Williamsport, PA; Renee and Richard Madison of Decatur; Kevin and Lourdes of Orlando, FL; Kenny Foreman (Toni Smith) of Decatur; Brooklyn Foreman of Decatur; Susan (Cary) Haliburton of IN; Denise Barbee of Decatur; Pamela Thibideaux of LA; Rodney Johnson of Decatur; and Patricia Johnson of Carbondale. Also surviving are 33 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; sisters Bernice Robinson of Durham, NC; Leslie Ann Foreman of Jamaica, NY; Vicky Foreman of Jamaica, NY; brothers Alfonzo Curry and wife Anetha of Brooklyn, NY; Jerrie Foreman, Jr. and wife Loretta of Laurelton, NY; Robert Lee Foreman and wife Marjorie of Virginia; and Kenneth Foreman of IL; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousin Tracy Lee of Philadelphia, PA; and uncle Edward Curry and wife Eleanore of Andalusia, AL.
Herndon was preceded in death by his parents, sister Magdline Foreman, brother Charles Foreman, an aunt and several uncles, nephew Ronald Lee, a great grandson, and a great granddaughter.
Special and dearest friends Tydus Green and family, Arthur Young and family, George and Evelyn Strong and family, James Neal and family. Cassandra Jones and family, Junior Neal and family.

Jack was born on April 12, 1955, in Decatur, the son of Robert and Marylin (Tucker) Fowler.
Jack previously worked as a manager at a service station.
Surviving are his mother Marylin Wise of Blue Mound; sons Jack W. Fowler, Jr. and wife Stephanie; Jeramie Fowler; foster son Bill Alsup, Sr.; grandsons Jacob, Zane, and Kian; brother Keith Fowler, Sr. and wife Nettie, all of Decatur; sister Donna Fowler of Blue Mound; several nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his father and two brothers.
