Jacquelyn “Jackie” McCarley, 77, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2007, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 28, 2007, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 27, at the funeral home. Cremation rites are to be accorded.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Humane Society.
Jackie was born on May 25, 1930, in Evanston, IL, the daughter of Lawrence and Esther (Irving) Larson. She married James McCarley on August 12, 1972, in Chicago. Jackie retired from Eagle Foods after 11 years of service. She was a member of Moundford Free Methodist Church. Jackie enjoyed gardening, playing Bingo, loved animals, and enjoyed watching and feeding the birds in the bird sanctuary that she and her husband built in their backyard.
Surviving are her husband of 35 years, James of Decatur; daughter Karen Willis of Decatur; sons William (Terri) Willis of Schaumburg, IL; Gary Willis of Mt. Vernon, IL; daughter Linda Wood of Georgia; grandchildren Charlie, Jennifer, Kimberly, Bobby, Adam, and Jonathan, and eight great grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents 2 brothers and one sister.

Annabelle Outten McKinney

Annabelle Outten McKinney, 89, of Decatur, IL, died 4:10 P.M., Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Manor Care Health Services, Decatur, IL.
Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 24, 2008, at Fairlawn Mausoleum, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M., Saturday, March 22, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL.
Memorials may be made to Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Annabelle was born June 11, 1918, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Caroll and Ethel Outten. She married Eugene Roy McKinney on June 12, 1946, in Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1998.
Annabelle taught elementary school in the Decatur area.
She is survived by her son Terry McKinney and wife Deborah; granddaughter Darcy McKinney and great grandson Nathan McKinney, all of Phoenix, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Eugene.

Amy Lois Meador

Decatur - Amy Lois Meador, 89, of Decatur, died at 2:55 PM, March 8, 2008 at Lincoln Manor in Decatur, with her family by her side.
Amy was born in Decatur on August 3, 1918, daughter of Andrew and Jennie (Johnson) Knisley. She married Lemuel Marlin ”Doc” Meador on June 7, 1947, in Decatur, IL.
Amy was a homemaker, seamstress, gardener, and most of all enjoyed singing and listening to music.
Surviving are daughters Judy (Merle) Sims, Decatur; Linda Hurd, Alexandria, VA; Sandi Stafford, Albany, GA; sister Erma Queen, Decatur; grandchildren Kathy (Todd) Bailey and their children Hunter and Jensen, Oakley; Justine Meador and her son McLain, Decatur; Randy Meador, DuBois, PA; Scott Stafford (Tamery) and their children Hudson, Mason, Gavin, and Owen, Matthews, NC; Michelle Ewing (Tony) and their children Nate and Emma, Mt. Zion; and Tiffany Waller (Kerry) and their children Alyssa and Macy, Safety Harbor, FL; and daughters-in-law Pat McLean-Hall and Susan Meador, both of Decatur.
She is preceded in death by parents, husband, son Jim Meador, sisters Dorothy and Edna, brothers Harlan, Howard and Homer, and special son-in-law Zack Hurd.
We would like to thank Darin Wall, Connie Price and the entire staff, past and present, at Lincoln Manor, for all their care, compassion and love during Mom’s 7 years “at home” there, and Sheila McClung for her care, love and support. We will be forever grateful.
Memorial visitation will be 5 - 7 PM Wednesday March 12, 2008 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial of cremains will be at 11 AM Thursday, March 13, 2008 in Vernon cemetery, Vernon, IL. .
Memorials to: Lincoln Manor or Macon County Honor Guard.

Ada Mae Meadows

Ada Mae Meadows, 90, of Decatur, Illinois, recently resided at Illini Heritage Nursing Home in Champaign. She died at 1:40 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2007 in Heritage Nursing Home.
Services will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, December 30 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation one hour preceding the funeral. Burial will be at a later date.
Mrs. Meadows was born September 4, 1917, in El Campo, Texas, and was the daughter of Walter and Elva Mallinson and the fifth of nine children. She lived in Decatur since she was 10 years old. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church for over 70 years and was involved with United Methodist Women and adult Sunday School Class. She volunteered for the American Red Cross for over 30 years in the physical therapy department of Decatur Memorial Hospital. She also was a volunteer at the Economy Shop, a resale store of the Grace United Methodist Church for over 15 years, serving as the store manager for two of those years. Ada Mae was a much loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. For many years she served as one of the lunchtime supervisors at Garfield Grade School. She continued her friendship with her co-workers fondly called “The Garfield Girls” long after they all retired from that job. She was a devoted Republican and proudly served as an election judge for many elections.
Ada Mae was married for 41 years to Robert Loyd Meadows in Arthur, Illinois May 3, 1937. He died in 1978.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Davis, of Round Lake, Illinois, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Carolyn Palm-Leis, son Ronald Lee Meadows, seven sisters, and one brother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Grace United Methodist Church, Decatur, Illinois.

Zachary was born November 20, 1995, in Carbondale, IL, the son of Timothy W. Melvin and Tammy (Johnston) Reynolds. He was a student of Benton Middle School and enjoyed playing sports.
He is survived by his father Timothy of Decatur, IL; mother Tammy Johnston Reynolds of Benton, IL; brother Jonathan Melvin of Benton, IL; sister Maria Johnston of Bellevue, NE; grandparents William and Marilyn Johnston of Bellevue, NE, Ruth Melvin of West Frankfort, IL; great grandmother EmmaLu Hill of Cisney, IL.

Paula J. Michael

Paula J. Michael, 54, of Decatur, passed away January 3, 2008 after a 2 ˝ year battle with ovarian cancer.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Monday, January 7, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 8, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery, Decatur.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.
Paula was born in Decatur, January 6, 1953, the daughter of Robert and Jean Delaney. She graduated from St. Teresa High School in 1971, and Millikin University in 1975. After graduation Paula moved to Springfield where she worked for the city in the Accounts and Finances office. She moved back to Decatur in 1980 and worked several years at A.E. Staley Company before going to the Grigoleit Co. where she worked for 24 years.
Paula married Cloyce E. Michael, Jr., November 21, 1980. She had two sons, Christopher and Gregory. Her husband and sons were the light of her life. She referred to her sons as her “little buddies” and they did everything together.
Paula loved collecting old dolls and dancing. She was a member of the Praireland Dance Club and volunteer dance teacher. She also was a member of the UCWDC and enjoyed dancing in the competitions with her husband.
Paula is survived by her husband Cloyce; sons Christopher Michael and wife Jessica and Gregory Michael, all of Decatur, IL; daughters Lori Thornton of Chandler, AZ and Kristel White and husband Jim of Hillsboro, IL; 4 grandchildren; sister Linda Delaney-Williams (Mike) of Decatur; brothers Mike (Mary) of Taylorville; Larry (Laurel) of Aurora; Terry (Carmen) of Fargo, ND; and Kelly (Elena) Delaney of Decatur; father Robert J. Delaney of Decatur; and many much-loved nieces and nephews.
Paula was preceded in death by her mother and one niece.
Paula will be missed by her many loving family and friends. Paula, we hope you dance in Heaven.

Harold W. Mikels, 91, of St. Charles, MO, died 7:20 A.M., Sunday, December 9, 2007, at Parkside Meadows Nursing Home, St. Charles, MO.
Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M., Saturday, December 15, 2007, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Cerro Gordo American Legion Post #117.
Memorials may be made American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.
Harold was born August 30, 1916, in Cerro Gordo, IL, the son of Ward and Grace (Wood) Mikels. From age 6, he was raised by his Aunt & Uncle, Bess and Lester Gott. He married Frances Grove on September 19, 1948, in Cerro Gordo. She preceded him in death on December 19, 1995.
Harold was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He attended North Hills Methodist Church in St. Louis, MO and was a member of Men’s Garden Club in Florissant, MO. Harold worked as an accountant at Mississippi Valley Structural Steel Company. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the 83rd Infantry Division in WWII.
He is survived by his children John R. Mikels and wife Jean of Decatur, IL; Mary Russell of Florissant, MO, Carol LeGrand and husband Gary of St. Charles, MO; grandchildren John Mikels (Lisa), Julie Mikels, Adam Russell (Andrea), Mary Sidney Russell, Gary LeGrand, Tom LeGrand; great grandchild Devun Pecher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 45 years, Frances, son-in-law Ralph Russell; granddaughter Sara Ann LeGrand; brothers Robert Mikels and Jack Mikels.

Florence Miller

Florence Miller, 72, of Oakley, IL, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, in her home.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 25, in Ritchie cemetery, Oakley Township, IL. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur.
Florence was born January 28, 1936, in Gideon, MO, the daughter of James and Susan (Bryam) Weaver.
Florence enjoyed quilting, gardening and spending time outdoors. She loved to fish and travel and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters Linda Poor and Evelyn Bevis, both of Decatur, IL; son Kenneth Miller and wife Diana of Temple, GA; seven grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; six brothers and two sisters.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, and one brother.
