Harlan D. "Buddy" Fischer, 70, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Monday at Nortorn Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Born July 15, 1936 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Warren and Maxine (Satterwaite) Fischer.

He worked as a Trainyard Foreman for Inland Steel in East Chicago, IN. He served in the United Sates Air Force.

He is survived by 4 daughters: Peggy (Tony) Kersey of Lawrenceville, IL, Mary (Rick) Chambers of Portage, IN, Jessica (Todd) Hardacre of Lawrenceville, IL, Holly (Gilbert) Steinkamp of Sumner, IL, 4 sisters: Judy (Jerry) Dale of Palm Coast, FL, Betty (Michael) Plummer of Bridgeport, IL, Vicki (Jim) Hall of Lawrencevillle, IL, Debbie (Mike) Judd of Indianapolis, IN, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

The funeral will Friday at 11:00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation is Friday from 10 to 11am. Burial will be at the Shiloh cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Jeremy Wayne Potts
May 20, 2007
Jeremy Wayne Potts, age 19, of Pinkstaff, IL, passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 20, 2007. He was born December 25, 1987, the son of Larry Potts and Rebecca York. He was a senior at Lawrenceville High School. He was enlisted in the U.S. Army. He played high school baseball, was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed sports.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Larry and Bonita (Pinkstaff) Potts, of Pinkstaff, IL, his mother Rebecca York of Alabama, step-father John Bottoms of Carlisle, IN, a fiance Kayla Milligan of Lawrenceville, paternal grandparents Tom and Linda Potts of Lawrenceville, maternal grandparents John and Jackie York of Chauncey, IL, three brothers Ryan Bottoms of Carlisle, IN, Brad Salhani and wife Beth of Mt. Carmel, IL, Ali Salhani and wife Katy of Pinkstaff, IL, two sisters Megan Bottoms of Alabama and Rhonda Salhani of Vincennes, IN. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the May Chapel cemetery.

Esther L. Parker
May 10, 2007
Esther L. Parker, age 83, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away at 12:15 AM on May 10, 2007 at the United Methodist Village North Campus in Lawrenceville. Born April 14, 1924, she was the daughter of Ernest and Rhoda (Roland) Montgomery. She married Gilbert "Gib" Parker on March 20, 1943 and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2003.

She is survived by one daughter, Jane Leach of Lawrenceville, one brother Gerry Montgomery of Lawrenceville, two sisters Ernestine Davis of Tuscola, IL and Rosemary Lamb of Marion, IL, four grandchildren, Tami Witfield, Chris Marin, Gino Marin, Shawna Miller, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gilbert Parker, one son Jim Parker, one daughter Judy Mickler, five brothers and two sisters.

Esther was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville. She was a member of the VFW and American Legion Axilliary. She was a homemaker and had worked as a sales clerk at Fessel Clothing Store in Lawrenceville.

The funeral will be at 12:00 noon on Monday at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville with burial in the Lawrenceville City cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at noon at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice or to the United Methodist Village North Campus New Chapel Fund.

Nina Pritchard
May 7, 2007
Nina B. Pritchard, age 83, passed away May 7, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. Born March 22, 1924, in Russellville, IL, she was the daughter of Dudley and Bessie (Heishman) Wolfe. She married William Leonard Pritchard in December of 1943 and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1982.

She is survived by one son, Wayne Pritchard of Flat Rock, IL, two daughters, Pam Stifle of Robinson, IL and Mariann Roedl of St. Peters, MO, five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter Nita Ducharme, one brother, three sisters, and one granddaughter.

Nina was a farm wife who also cleaned houses and sat with people. She was a member of the Russellville Community Church in Russellville, IL.

The funeral will be on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home with burial in the Price cemetery in Russellville, IL. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Shriner's St. Louis Linburg Hospital.

Imogene Hensley
May 2, 2007
Imogene Hensley, 87, a native of Lawrenceville, passed away Wednesday May 2, 2007 at the Terrace Nursing Home in Louisville, KY.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Epiphany United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Clifford Hensley and a daughter Judith Ann Hensley.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Byrley (Kenneth) ; 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey Todd, Jennifer Lynn, and Jary Alan (Dana) ; 2 great-grandchildren Kenneth Blake and Tanner Alan.
Her funeral will be conducted at 11am Saturday at J.E. Ratterman & Son, 7330 Southside Dr. Louisville, KY with visitation from 5-8PM Friday.
There will also be a funeral service Monday at 3:00PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation wil be Sunday from 5 to 7PM. Burial will be at the Lawrenceville City cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to her church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Dorothy Mae Piper
April 30, 2007
Dorothy Mae Piper, age 85, of rural Bridgeport, IL passed away on Monday, April 30, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.

Born June 18, 1921 in Richland County, IL, she was the daughter of John Henry Acton and Cleora Frances (Greenwood) Acton.

She married Cecil Roy Piper who preceded her in death on April 18, 1979.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Central Christian Church in Sumner, IL.

She is survived by seven sons, Cecil Piper of Olney, Ronald Piper and John Piper both of Sumner, James Piper and David Piper both of Lawrenceville, Robert Piper of Bridgeport, and Bud Piper of Laurel, MS; two daughters, Cleora Gillespie-Weger of Lawrenceville, and Dorothy Laughlin of Bridgeport, 21 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cecil, and one daughter Carol Ann Heath.

The funeral will be on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial will be in the Sumner City cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Oblong Children's Home in Oblong, IL.

Nancy L. Gosnell
April 30, 2007
Nancy L. Gosnell, age 70, of Lawrenceville, passed away on April 30, 2007 at 6:30 P.M. at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville. Born November 11, 1936, she was the daughter of Leo and Ann (Plugh) McClaskey.

She is survived by four sons, John Land of Lawrenceville, IL, Kevin Gosnell of Dierks, AR, Kendell Gosnell of Bridgeport, IL, and Keith Gosnell of Palestine, IL; two daughters Annette Street of Mt. Carmel, IL and Julie Moon of Lawrenceville, IL, one brother David McClaskey of Dayton, OH, four sisters Jean Henschen, Lela Duckworth, Ladonna Pinkstaff, and Emmalu Gardner all of Lawrenceville, IL, 16 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Frankie Bea McClaskey.

She was a CNA and worked at Oakview Heights in Mt. Carmel. She was a member of the 6th Street Wesleyan Church in Lawrenceville and a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, May 7th at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be from 10 until the hour of service. Burial will be in the May Chapel cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the 6th Street Wesleyan Church Building Fund.

Emma Daugherty
April 28, 2007
Emma J. Daugherty, age 91, of Flat Rock, IL passed away at the Crestview Nursing Home at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2007.

Born August 11, 1916 in Shoals, IN, she was the daughter of Joseph Harner and Hulda Neighbors Harner.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Vincennes Christian Center and the Rising Sun Christian Church.

She is survived by three sons, Leslie Daugherty of Vincennes, Charles Daugherty of Flat Rock, IL, and Harold Daugherty of Winfield, MO, one daughter Linda Frederick of rural Lawrenceville, seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, four sisters and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City cemetery.

Brad Mahrenholz

Bradey A. Mahrenholz of rural Lawrenceville passed away at his residence on Wednesday, April 25, 2007.

Born December 15, 1967 in Vincennes, IN, he was the son of Steve Mahrenholz of Lawrenceville and Janet "Jan" (Farris) Mahrenholz of Vincennes, IN.

He is survived by his father Steve Mahrenholz, his mother Jan Mahrenholz, step-mother Marilyn Mahrenholz, a son Bradley Mahrenholz, his fiancee Candy Hunsaker of rural Lawrenceville, a sister Amy Whitlock of Kokomo, IN, step-sister Sandi Grove of Lawrenceville, two step-brothers Frank Moyes of Lawrenceville and Bobby Moyes of Mt. Carmel, IL, paternal grandparents Glenn and Grace Mahrenholz of rural Lawrenceville, as well as several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents J. Earl and Jean Farris.

He was a farmer for G & S Farms. He was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Vincennes, IN. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, nascar racing, camping and being on the river.

The funeral will be on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Burial will be in the Memorial Park cemetery in Vincennes, IN. Visitation will be on Friday, April 27, 2007 from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
