Delilah J. Newell, 96, of Flat Rock, IL passed away July 20, 2008 at her residence.
Born May 13, 1912 in Lawrenceville, IL she was the daughter of Chase and Elvra (Strugeon) Ryan. She married
Karl E. Newell on August 5, 1934. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1999.
She was a homemaker and a farm wife. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Lawrenceville, IL. She was also member of a sewing Club.
She is survived by a son: K.E. and his wife Cecilia "Cooky" Newell of Flat Rock, IL, 3 grandchildren: Kara and her husband Walid El-Kadi, Kevin and wife J.P. Newell, and Kirby and his wife Jane Newell, 9 great grandchildren: Amanda El-Kadi, Jason Newell, Tammer El-Kadi, Jenna El-Kadi, Griffiin Newell, Jackson Newell, Elena Newell, James Newell, and Landon Newell. Several nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law also survive. An infant daughter, and two brothers are deceased.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8Pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at the May Chapel cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to the First Christian Church.

Karla G. (Umfleet) Harvey, 48, of Sumner, IL passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 2:30 am (EST) at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.
Born December 14, 1959 in Aurora, CO, she was the daughter of Earl and Lois (Collins) Umfleet of Sumner, IL. She married
Forrest Harvey October 4, 1990.
Karla worked at Golden Rule Insurance as a data entry clerk.
She is survived by her husband Forrest Harvey of Sumner; her parents Earl and Lois Umfleet of Sumner; two sons Joshua Slater of Wichita, KS and Jeremy Slater of Fort Bragg, N.C.; one step-son David J. Harvey of Sumner, IL; two daughters Sarah Slater of Olney, IL, Rachel Harvey of Sumner, IL; three step-daughters Lauren Harvey of Sumner, IL, Deborah Crist of Ft. Campbell, KY and Brianna Harvey of Johnstown, PA; five sisters including a twin-sister Darla Nicewander of Sumner, IL, Susan Farris of Elkmont, AL, Annette Kiser of Sumner, IL, Teresa Parker of Bloomington, IN, and Jeri May of Dietrich, IL; as well as nine grandchildren.
The visitation will be Monday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, IL. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am on Monday with burial to follow in the Sumner cemetery.

Charles R. Moore, 83, of Calhoun, IL passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 4:10 am at the Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, IL.
Born December 12, 1924 in Richland County, IL, he was the son of Walter and Floe (Shick) Moore. He married
Lora Mae Ridgley on April 27, 1971 in Springfield, TN. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Berryville Christian Church.
Charles is survived by his wife Lora Mae of Calhoun, IL, one sister Dorothy Newell of Sumner, IL, and three nieces Sandra Steffen of Marrietta, GA, Kay Romsland of Belleview, WA, Cindy Wendell of Farmers City, IL.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 am at the Gilead cemetery Southwest of Sumner, IL. There will be no visitation.
BILLIE L. EATON

Billie L. Eaton of Olney, IL (formerly of the Chauncey area) passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 6:50 p.m. at the Richland Hospital Long-Term Care Facility.
Born July 14, 1932 in Lawrenceville, IL, she was the daughter of Vance and Edythe (Lynch) Westall. She married
Dwight Eaton on December 2, 1950. He survives.
Billie was a farm wife and had been a long time member of the Sumner United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride in all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, survivors include four daughters Kathy Cranmer of Littleton, CO, Connie Williams of Indianapolis, IN, Tracy Dearing of Peoria, IL and Patti Totten of Olney, IL; one brother Ron Westall of Oblong, IL; seven grandchildren Amy Cranmer of Crestone, CO, Erin Cranmer of Boulder, CO; Kaycee Cozart of Greeley CO, Derick Williams of Indianapolis, IN, Amber Williams of Indianapolis, IN, Sean Dearing of Peoria, IL and Jenae Dearing of Peoria, Il, as well as one great-grandchild Aniyah Williams of Indianapolis, IN.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
A graveside service will be held Friday morning at 11:00 AM at the Chauncey cemetery. Friends are welcome to attend the graveside service and the gathering at the Chauncey Community Club following the service for a time of fellowship. There will be a private visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church or to the Chauncey Community Club.

Diana L. Regnier, 55, of Poplar Grove, IL (formerly of Greencastle, IN) passed away on Wednesday July 2, 2008 at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Born January 9, 1953 in Kankakee, IL she was the daughter of Howard and Darlene (Hupel) Byick. She was married
to Wayne L. Regnier. He survives.
Diana had worked as a Teacher's Assistant at Greencastle Middle School and at Cascade High School. She was a former member of the Madison Township Volunteer Fire Department in Greencastle. She was a member of the Northeast Christian Church in Rockford, IL.
Along with her husband, survivors include three daughters: Tara (Jerrod) Baugh of Greencastle, IN, Tammy (Trevor) Seed of Lawrenceville, IL, Tina (Mike) Davis of Avon, IN, a sister Patty (Alan) Blanchette of Kankakee, IL and 6 grandchildren: Jacob Seed, Cody Albin, Nate Seed, Gayle Baugh, Michael Albin, and Gavin Davis.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday July 5, 2008 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle, IN with visitation from 10:00am until the service hour. Entombment will be at the Forest Hill cemetery in Greencastle, IN

DeEtta Bunting, 96, a lifelong resident of rural Sumner, died of congestive heart failure at Lawrence Community Healthcare Center in Bridgeport on Wednesday, June 25, 2008.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Sumner United Methodist Church and, until her illness, was an active participant in many church activities. As matriarch of her family, she was a loving inspiration to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
DeEtta Imogene Brown was born in Lawrence County on April 23, 1912, the daughter of Grover and Maude (Hutchinson) Brown. In 1935, she married
Glen Albert Bunting, who preceded her in death in 1976.
Survivors include a son, David Bunting of Sumner, a daughter Cyndalu Van Cleve and her husband Stephen, of Lakeland, FL; five grandchildren, Roy Bunting of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Michael Bunting of Fort Irwin, CA, Curtis Van Cleve of Sumner, Pamela LiCalsi of LaQuinta, CA, and David Van Cleve of Geneva, IL, as well as five great-grandchildren, Roberto Carlos and Roy Alexander Bunting, Cassidy and Madison Van Cleve, and Megan Van Cleve Willcox.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 8 PM at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home, 509 S. Christy, Sumner, IL. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Sumner cemetery.

Verdene Angle White, 85, of Lawrenceville passed away Saturday June 21, 2008 at the United Methodist Village North Campus in Lawrenceville.
Born April 10, 1923 in Petty Township, Illinois, she was the daughter of Edward and Tura (Longnecker) Angle. She married
Bob O. White on November 11, 1941. He died on November 4, 1992.
She is survived by a son: David White of Lawrenceville, 2 daughters: Jobeth Westergard of Longview, TX, Bobbi Argo of Midland, TX, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, IL.
Visitation is Monday June 23, 2008 from 5 to 8PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Private Services will be conducted. Burial is at the Lawrenceville City cemetery.
JOHN PHILIP SIVERT

Phil Sivert, 90, passed away Thursday June 19, 2008 in Lawrenceville, IL. He was born May 28, 1918 to Hugh and Alice Sivert in Sumner, IL.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary, a daughter and son-in-law Suzanne and Tom Musgrove, and grandchildren Melanie, Craig, and Christopher Musgrove.
Phil was an educator, teaching in Lawrenceville High School and Vincennes University and serving as County Superintendent of Schools. He served in the US Army during WWII, and the Army Reserves thereafter, attaining the rank of Colonel.
He loved greatly his family, church, and friends, volunteering in many areas of church and community.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home, followed by a Memorial Service at the First Christian Church at 4:00pm.
Memorial donations may be given to the First Christian Church or to the donor's choice.

Mike Pargin, 53, of Lawrenceville passed away Wednesday June 18, 2008 at his residence.
Born January 16, 1955 in Lawrence County, IL he was the son of Charles Dale and Evelyn (Lockhart) Pargin of Lawrenceville, IL. He worked as a mechanic and worked at Pargin Auto Service. He was a member of the Billett United Methodist Church.
On November 21, 2001 he married
Martha Waggoner. She survives. Also surviving are 2 sons: Ben Pargin of Sullivan, IN, Mitch Pargin of Vincennes, IN, 1 daughter: Aimee Pargin of Vincennes, IN, 2 step-sons: Jeremy Hall of Beaufort, SC, Jonathon Hall of Billett, IL, a sister: Sandy and her husband Dale Rachell of Belleville, IL, and 3 grandchildren. Four brothers are deceased.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation is Friday from 5 to 8PM. Burial will be at the Billett cemetery.
