Vesta M.C. Millsap, 53, of Sumner, IL passed away Tuesday June 17, 2008 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born December 19, 1954 in Mt. Carmel, IL to Everett and Madorah (Chapman) Bood.
Vesta was a nurse's assistant at Burgin Manor in Olney, IL. She was a member of the Christian Church in Sumner, IL
Survivors include 2 daughters: Brook Reeves of Sumner, IL, Krystal Wyatt of Olney, IL, 3 brothers: Dale Blood of Mt. Carmel, IL, Nolan Blood of Mt. Carmel, IL, Charles Blood of Norfolk, VA, 5 sisters: Alice Crown of Evansville, IN, Lovilah Blood of Mt. Carmel, IL, Mary Jane Drunkenbord of Ohio, Shirley McCloud of Indianapolis, IN, Kathy Stout of St. Louis, MO, and 2 grandchildren: Maddison and Macy.
The funeral will be Sunday at 5:00pm at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, IL. Visitation is from 3:00 until the service hour of 5:00pm. Burial will be at the Lawrenceville City cemetery.

Betty J. Biggs, 70, of Sumner, IL passed away Sunday June 15, 2008 at her residence. She was born August 19, 1937 in Lawrence County, IL to E. Waldo and Violet (Taylor) Brian.
Betty was a homemaker and was a member of the Sumner Free Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter: Crystal & her husband Scott Fishman of Howell, NJ, and 2 grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday June 19, 2008 at 11:30am at the Sumner cemetery. There is no visitation.

David A. Kelley, 37, of Lawrenceville, Il passed away Thursday June 12, 2008 at his residence. He was bron August 5, 1970 in Rapid City, SD to Dan and Irma (Wagner) Kelley, both of Lawrenceville, IL.
He is also survived by a sister: Rebecca and her husband Benjamin Berzinis, of Travis Air Force Base, CA, maternal grandmother: Pearl Wagner of Lawrenceville, IL, and several aunts and uncles.
He was a graduate of Wabash Valley College with a degree in Broadcasting. He worked at Sumner Care and Rehab in Maintenance, the Lawrence Crawford Workshop and Transition Facility. He also worked in Maintenance with his Dad in Plymouth, IN. He was a DJ for some time and was a recording technician. He was a member of the Hoopston Christian Disciples of Christ. He was also a member of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts of America. He played the bells in Bell Choir at church and played the piano. He was a Royal Ambassador at church.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 1) :00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation is Monday from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Burial will be at the Lawrenceville City cemetery.
REBEKAH (ALLEN) VAN GRINSVEN

Rebekah Van Grinsven, 46, of Kimberly, WI (formely of Bridgeport, IL, ) passed away Wednesday June 11, 2008 at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton, WI. Born February 24, 1962 in Lawrenceville, IL she was the daughter of Chester Harold and Betty (Belcher) Allen. On July 1, 1988 she married
Thomas Van Grinsven in Radcliff, KY. He survives.
Along with her husband, she is survived by 3 brothers: John Mark Allen of Bridgeport, IL, Robert Lynn Allen of Bridgeport, IL, Daniel Allen of Sumner, IL, 3 sisters: Deborra Allen of Bridgeport, IL, Beth Ann Lee of Gahana, OH, Donna Abas Al Khuzaei of Doha, Qatar, 11 nephews, 5 nieces, 5 aunts and 1 uncle.
She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Bridgeport, IL. She was also a member of the Toussaint Duboios Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
Private services are being conducted.

Marvin Wade Goodwin, 73, of Lawrenceville passed away Thursday June 12, 2008 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. Born August 24, 1934 in Bloomfield, IN he was the son of Lester Wade and Jewie (Bland) Goodwin. He married
Joann Fouts on October 20, 1974.
He retired from Texaco where he worked as a tank truck driver. He was a US Army Veteran.
Along with his wife, he is survived by 2 step-sons: David Duane Quick of Owensville, IN, Dennis Wayne Quick of Tampa, FL, a step daughter: Claudia Sue Ravellette of Elizabethtown, TN, a brother: Kenneth Goodwin of Bloomfield, IN, 2 sisters: Doris Resler of New Albany, IN, Imogene Maxwell of Davenport, IA, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
The funeral will be on Monday at 12:00 at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home with visitation from 10:00 to the service hour of 12:00pm. Burial will be at Lawrenceville City cemetery.

William C. Fodr, 84, of Lawrenceville passed away Wednesday June 11, 2008 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. Born June 13, 1923 in Lawrenceville, IL he was the son of Rev. Toney and Julia (Duncan) Ford. He married
Monna Wampler on July 17, 1965.
He worked at Central Cigar as a stock clerk. He had also worked for meadow Gold and worked as a custodian for the Unit 20 Schools. He served in the Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Highway Church of God.
Along with his wife, survivors include 4 sons: Dan Burnett of Bridgeport, IL, Ed Burnett of Johnston City, IL, Keith Ford of Lawrenceville, Il, Paul Ford of Herrin, IL, 6 daughters: Susan Townsend of Memphis, TN, Janet Cody of Elyria, OH, Linda Frazier of Chapel Hill, NC, Susan Wall of Calgary, Alberta, Julia Hoalt of Lawrenceville, IL, Donna Smith of Greenwood, IN, a brother: Henry Ford of Findley, OH, 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Two sons, five brothers, and three sisters are deceased.
The funeral will be Saturday at 12:00pm at the Highway Church of God in Lawrenceville. Visitation is from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday at the church. Burial is at the Lawrenceville City cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to the Highway Church of God.

Norma J. Yosowitz, 81, of Lawrenceville passed away Thursday June 5, 2008 at Lawrence Community Healthcare Center in Bridgeport, IL. Born August 2, 1926 in Lawrenceville, she was the daughter of Roy L. and Mary (Anderson) Sager. August 10 1952 she married
Mandell Yosowitz. He preceded her in death on August 14, 2007.
Norma worked as a nurse at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital before retirement. She also for Dr. Pace and Dr. Cullison in their medical practices. She was a member of the Temple Adath B'Na'i Isreal in Evansville, IN. She graduated on August 1, 1952 from Welborn College of Nursing.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Sue and Loren Urfer of Olney, IL, Ann and Frank Cozza of Melrose Park, IL, and a grandchild: Ausitn Urfer of Olney, IL.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00pm at the Mt. Carmel cemetery in Evansville, IN. Visitation is Wednesday from 9:00am to 11:00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be given to the donor's choice.

Donald R. Helderman, 75, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Wednesday June 4, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born February 19, 1933 in Vincennes, IN to Joseph Earl and Evelyn (Capitola) Helderman.
He was first married
to Shirley McClure. She preceded him in death on November 18, 1998. He then married
Helen (Marsee) Hughes. She survives.
Also surviving are 5 sons: Jerry (Bonnie) Helderman of Henderson, KY, Robert (Sue) Helderman of Lawrenceville, IL, Thomas (Rane) Helderman of Lawrenceville, IL, David (Tammy) Helderman of Lawrenceville, IL, Chris (Celeste) Helderman of Bridgeport, IL, a daughter: Gloria Jeannie Ramirez of Lawrenceville, IL, step-daughters: Rebecca Vincent of Bridgeport, IL, Paula (Robert) Stephens of Lawrenceville, IL, Teresa (Frank) Littlejohn of Dugger, IN, a brother: Joe Helderman of Christopher, IL, 4 sisters: Mildred Gilbert of New Iberia, La, Eulah McClure of Vincennes, IN, Doris Twitty of Lebanon, IN, Karen Sue Twitty of Lebanon, IN, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 step-great grandchildren. One grandson is deceased.
Don was retired from the City of Lawrenceville and was a self employed plumber. He was a member of the Trinity Power of Pentecost Church in Lawrenceville. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 and 8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at May Chapel cemetery.

Paul G. Brown, 74, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Thursday February 5, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
He was born September 29, 1934 in Lawrence County, IL the son of Paul and Leona (Cornwell) Brown. Mrs. Brown survives and lives in Vincennes, IN. He married
Arletta West on November 22, 1953. She precedes him in death.
Surviving along with his mother are a son: Billy Joe and wife Sue Brown of Avon, IN, a daughter: Paula and husband Phil Faught of Indianapolis, IN, 3 brothers: Neil Brown of Mitchell, IN, Max Brown of Vincennes, IN, Terry (Mike) Brown of Vincennes, IN, 2 sisters: Janice Sue Campbell of Vincennes, IN, Linda Kay Carr of Charleston, IL, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren..
Paul worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN. He also owned Brown's Pet Shop in Lawrenceville and Olney, IL. He is a US Navy Veteran having served in Korea. He is a member of the Church of God Prophecy in Lawrenceville and the Harvestime Church in Indianapolis, IN.
The funeral will be Monday February 9, 2009 at 1:30pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Park cemetery in Claremont, IL. Visitation is Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

Alfred John Blanchette, 57, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Wednesday February 4, 2009 at his residence.
He was born July 2, 1951 in Bellingham, WA the son of Victor and Irma (Mersbach) Blanchette. On May 28, 1970 he married
Virginia Plummer. She survives.
He is also survived by 3 sons: George Blanchette of Lawrenceville, IL, Matt Blanchette of Lawrenceville, IL, John Blanchette of Washington, DC, a daughter: Amanda Blanchette of Lake Ridge, VA, 4 sisters: Vicky Ralston of Bridgeport, IL, Joyce Wells of Sumner, IL, Nancy McCullough of O'Fallon, MO, Patricia Blanchette of Colorado Springs, CO, and 6 grandchildren. A brother precedes him in death.
He was a self-employed Dry Waller. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 9:30am Saturday at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville. There will be no burial. Visitation is Friday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home with a Prayer Service to be conducted at 7:00pm.
Memorial donations may be given to the ALS Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
