JANUARY 31, 2009

Frances Meeks Gosnell. 91, of Indianapolis, IN (formerly of Lawrenceville) passed away Saturday January 31, 20009 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born August 28, 1917 in Birds, IL. She was the daughter of Pringle and Julia (Emmons) Montgomery. She was first married to Joe C. Meeks. He precedes her in death. She then married Frank "Tiny" Gosnell. He also preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son: Thomas and his wife Susie Meeks of Noblesville, IN, a daughter: Anne and Dean Rainbolt of Carmel, IN, 4 grandchildren and 9 Great grandchildren. 3 brothers and a sister are deceased.

She attended Vincennes University where she earned a degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a Private Duty Nurse. She also worked as The Lawrence Township School Nurse for 25 plus years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville. She also attended Orchard Park Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Lawrenceville City cemetery. Visitation is also Tuesday from 11:00am to the service hour of 1:00pm at the funeral home.

memorial donations may be given to the Lawrenceville Camp Girls, the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, or to the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.

KATHRYN HEATH
JANUARY 25, 2009

Kathryn Heath, 82, of Sumner, IL passed away Sunday January 25, 2009 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

She was born August 5, 1926 in Sumner, IL the daughter of Byron and Imogene (Daniels) Osborn. She was married to Charles (Gus) Heath, who preceded her in death in 1999.

She was a teacher and a homemaker.

She is survived by 2 sons: Charles Kent Heath of Mt. Carroll, IL, and Brent Heath of San Francisco, CA.

A Memorial Service will be conducted Tuesday February 10, 2009 at 2:00pm at Sivert-Macey & Sfeffey Funeral Home. There is no visitation.

JANICE ELAINE JERRELL
JANUARY 21, 2009

Janice Elaine Jerrell, 63, of Rural Sumner, IL passed away Wednesday January 21, 2009 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso, IN.

She was born April 6, 1945 in Gary, IN the daughter of Verl and Mildred (Turner) Piper.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by a son: Eric Holestak of Sumner, IL, and a daughter: Sherry Pace of Portage, IN 5 sisters: Shirley Rogers of Bridgeport, IL, Brenda Lewis of Gary, IN, Sue Warlow of Shelbyville, TN, KarenWells of Shelbyville, TN, and Patti Biggs of Bridgeport, IL. A son Derek Holestak is deceased.

Interment will be conducted at a later date. The body is being cremated. Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

MARY H. SENTERS
JANUARY 19, 2009

Mary H. Senters, 99, of Lawrenceville, IL (formerly of Sumner, IL) passed away Monday January 19, 2009 at the United Methodist Village North Campus.

She was born November 2, 2009 in Lawrence County, IL the daughter of Earl and Jessie (Poland) Baldwin. She was married to Theron Senters. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2001.

Mary was a homemaker and was affiliated with the Bethany Christina Church.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A brother and 3 sisters also precede her in death.

The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00pm at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will be at Crest Haven Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 12:00 to the service hour of 1:00pm.

Memorial donations may be given to the Bethany Christian Church.

AUGUSTA M. WINGET
JANUARY 19, 2009

Augusta (Gussie) Winget, died January, 19, 2009, at age 92 in Scottsdale, AZ. She was a resident of Lawrenceville for 89 years before age and declining health necessitated a move to be near family in Arizona.
She was born the fifth child of G.C. and Grace Cochran in Pinkstaff, Illinois, and graduated from Lawrenceville Township High School. She married Dick S. Winget in 1936 and lived for over 50 years at 1406 16th Street in Lawrenceville.
She loved living in Lawrenceville, and was a dedicated part of Cochran Insurance Agency for 43 years. She was also a member of First Methodist Church in Lawrenceville.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dick Winget; her son Dr. Richard Winget; two brothers, Lyle Cochran and Orval Cochran; and two sisters, Agnes Tolliver and Marguerite Miles. Her daughter, Judy Winget Weiler resides with her husband, Walt Weiler, in Scottsdale, AZ. She had three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Grandchildren include Greg Bear and Rebecca-Bear Schiesser both living in Seattle, WA; Melinda Bear Aumiller of Colorado Springs, CO; Amy Weiler Henson of Phoenix, AZ, and Lori Weiler Groustra of Littleton, CO. She had 15 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on March 7, 2009, with visitation at 10:30, and a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Emmons-Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Lawrenceville cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to First Methodist Church

BILLY D. FAITH
JANUARY 16, 2009

Billy D. Faith, 58, of Lawrenceville passed away Friday January 16, 2009 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 19, 1950 in Flat Rock, , IL the son of William Dean and Dorothy (Midgett) Faith.

He is survived by his mother of Flat Rock, IL, a daughter: Heather Brinkley of Texas, a brother: Robert Faith of Lawrenceville, IL, a sister: Vicki Hussey of Lawrenceville, IL and 2 grandchildren.

He worked as an electrical engineer. He served in the US Air Force and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He attended the Air Force Academy.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00pm at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Tohill Cmetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

Memorial donations may be given to the Disabled American Veterans.

GRETA G. HORNBUCKLE
JANUARY 15, 2009

Greta G. Hornbuckle, 80 of Bellingham, WA passed away Thursday January 15, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in Washington.

She was born November 15, 1928 in Lawrenceville, IL the daughter of Carl E. and Eva Marie (Dunlap) McCleave. She was married to Harry D. Hornbuckle. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son: Kim Hornbuckle of Inman, SC, 3 sisters: Cosetta Jolliff of Peoria, IL, Jo Claire McBride of Fairbanks, AK, Ruth Ratten of Merrecks, Austrailia, and 2 grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the Russellville Church.

The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Pollard cemetery. Visitation is also Thursday from 1:00 to the service hour of 2:00pm.

Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.

BECKY LYNN MINER
JANUARY 11, 2009

Becky Lynn Miner, 54, of Lawrenceville passed away Sunday January 11, 2009 at Crestview Nursing Home in Vincennes, IN.

She was born September 23, 1954 in Lawrence County, IL the daughter of Walter T. and Martha (Woods) Reeder. On March 2, 1976 she married Steve Miner. He survives.

She was a nurse at the United Methodist Village and worked as a Nursing Care Plan Coordinator. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son: Christopher Shawn Miner of Lawrenceville, IL, 2 brothers: Tom Reeder of Lawrenceville, IL, George Reeder of Kankakee, IL, 1 sister: Barbara Reeder of Lawrenceville, IL, 3 grandchildren: Garin Riley, Shyla and Kayla Miner. Five sisters are deceased.

The funeral will be Friday at 11:00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Lawrenceville City cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home.

HARRISON COZART
JANUARY 11, 2009

Peter Harrison Cozart, 91, of Lawrenceville passed away Sunday January 11, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.

He was born February 8, 1917 in White County, IL the son of Claud and Gertie Mae (Hall) Cozart. He married Lois French on October 22, 1946. She survives.

Also surviving are 2 daughters: Annetta (Larry) Lockhart of Lawrenceville, IL, Judy (Jay) Knoerr of St. Petersburg, FL, 2 sisters: Peg (Bill) Barnett of Youngstown, OH, and Rosaline (Bill) Potts of Griffith, IN. 3 brothers and 2 sisters are deceased.

He retired from Texaco Refinery after 40 years. He was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church in Orio, IL where he served as Elder and was a member of the Building Committee, and the cemetery Committee. He served in the US Army and was a recipient of the Purple heart.

The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30am at the Wabash Presbyterian Church in Orio with burial to follow at Orio cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.

Memorial donations may be given to the Wabash Presbyterian Church cemetery Fund.
