Clara Maxine (Loudermilk) Kail, 86, of Vincennes, IN passed away Saturday January 10, 2009 at Crestview Nursing Home in Vincennes, IN.
She was born December 19, 1922 in Lawrence County, IL the daughter of William Harrison and Clara Delilah (Heady) Cummins. She married
Joseph Burton Loudermilk on May 29, 1941. He died December 27, 1989. She then married
Donald Kail on July 12, 1991. He survives.
She is also survived by 3 daughters: Stella and Dick Hettenbach of Evansville, IN, Wanda and Bill Vonderleith of Vincennes, IN, Helen and Bob Finke of Evansville, IN, 2 step-daughters: Nina Laughlin of Oden, IN, Lori Wilcoxen of Indianapolis, IN, 3 sisters: Orphie Witheim of Hastingston, MI, Margaret Loudermilk of Hammond, IN, Agnes Smith of Highland, IN, several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Along with her first husband, she is preceded in death by a son: Thomas Burton Loudermilk, a daughter: Juanita Adkins, 2 step-sons: Mike and Mark Kail, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, and a great-great grandson.
Maxine worked as a cook for the United Methodist Village and Lawrence County Memorial Hospital, and the White Diner. Maxine and her husband loved to Square Dance and she enjoyed playing board games. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Vincennes, IN.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00am at the Lawrenceville Free Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Lawrenceville City cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be given to the Lawrenceville Senior Citizens through the funeral home.
BRUCE O. LAAKMAN
JANUARY 8, 2009
Bruce O. Laakman, 57, of rural Lawrenceville, IL passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 in Evansville, IN.
He was born February 1, 1951 in Vincennes, IN the son of Farris and Mary Lou (Hauhe) Laakman.
Bruce was a farmer and a carpenter.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Lou of Vincennes, IN; a son Scott Laakman of Lawrenceville; companion Mary Ellen Thrall of rural Lawrenceville; one brother David Laakman of Santa Barbara, CA; as well as two sisters Beth Laakman of Chenoa, IL and Amy Laakman of French Lick, IN.
He was preceded in death by his father and one grandson.
Friends may call for a time of gathering on Monday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. There will be no burial. The body is being cremated.
ANGEL MICHELE MCDONALD

Angel Michele McDonald, 42, of Normal, IL (formerly of Sumner, IL) passed away Tuesday January 6, 2009 in Vermillion County, IL.
She was born January 21, 1966 in Sumner, IL the daughter of George McDonald and Carolyn (Bennett) McDonald.
Angel Michele is survived by her parents George and wife Jimetta McDonald of Olney, her mother Carolyn (Bennett) McDonald of Olney; a brother: Jon and wife Susan McDonald of St. Francisville, IL, a sister: Geolyn McDonald of Normal, IL, 2 step-brothers: Jason and wife Shelby Zollars of Olney, IL, Justin Zollars of Olney, IL, Uncles: Phillip and Marilyn Bennett, Ronnie and Deanna Bennett, Greg and Vicki Bennett, Aunts: Gwyn and Wade Wilson, Pat and Gene Lancaster, Helen and Neil Bealer, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was a homemaker and a paper carrier. She was affiliated with the Beulah United Methodist Church.
Angel Michele will be sadly missed by her family, friends and grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday January 11, 2009 at 3:00pm at the Beulah United Methodist Church, Sumner, IL. Visitation is also Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00pm at the church.
Entombment will be at Cresthaven Memorial Park cemetery.
Memorial Donations may be given to Angel Michele's Grandchildren in care of Jolene McDonald.
ARVIS JERRY MASON JR.

Arvis Jerry Mason Jr., 54, of Sumner, IL passed away Monday January 5, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
Born October 5, 1954 in Princeton, IN he was the son of Arvis Jerry and Virginia (Goldman) Mason Sr. On October 5, 1983 he married
Deborah Bonesteel. She survives.
He is also survived by a son: Lafe Mason of Sumner, IL, a brother: Benny Mason of Hutsonville, IL, 2 sisters; Rena Smith of Hutsonville, IL, Gina and husband Tony Brian of Hutsonville, IL, 2 brothers-in-law: Donnie and Lois Bonesteel of Hutsonville, IL, Eddie and Lori Bonesteel of Hutsonville, IL, a sister-in-law: Rhonda Bonesteel of West Union, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Friday at 10:00am at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner. Burial will follow at the Decker cemetery in Patoka, IN. Visitation is Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home.

Sandra Kay Lackey Hill, 67, of Bridgeport, IL passed away Friday January 2, 2009 at Lawrence Community Healthcare in Bridgeport, IL.
She was born October 20, 1941 in Lawrenceville, IL the daughter of Henry Arthur and Nona Irene (Doss) Mann. She was first married
to Lester Lackey. He precedes her in death. She then married
Victor Hill. He also preceded her in death.
She worked in Home Healthcare and did housecleaning. She was a member of the Central Christian Church in Sumner, IL and was a member of the Eastern Star, and the Eagles.
She is survived by a son: Henry "Buddy" and Brenda Lackey of Bridgeport, IL, 3 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00am at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Sumner cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
DAVID F. TOHILL
JANUARY 3, 2009
David F. Tohill, age 78, passed away January 3, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. Born June 22, 1930 in Crawford County, IL, he was the son of Charles R. and Mary (McGill) Tohill. He married
Dorothy Hoke November 10, 1951 and she survives.
David was a member of the Russellville Community Church where he served as a Deacon and superintendent. He was a retired carpenter from Local #546 out of Vincennes, IN. David was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served on the Russellville, IL town board as the town clerk and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #348.
David is survived by his wife Dorothy of Lawrenceville, two daughters Vicky and Rodney Festervan of Choudrant, LA and Amy and Gary Rinsch of rural Flat Rock; two sons Edward Tohill of Flat Rock, IL and Donald and Lila Tohill of Lawrenceville; one sister Rosie Taggart of Arlington, VA; five grandchildren Eric and Rheanna DeVillier of Choundrant, LA, Hank Festervan of Choundrant, LA, Brandon Rinsch and his fiancee Melissa of rural Flat Rock, IL, Cody and Blake Rinsch of rural Flat Rock, IL.
David was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Lewis, Charles, and William, as well as two sisters Maxine Lackey and Mary Lindsey.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Price cemetery in Russellville, IL.
Memorial donations may be made to the Russellville Community Church.
MILLICENT L. "CINDY" DRUMMOND

Millicent L. "Cindy" Drummond, 55, of Lawrenceville, passed away Sunday December 28, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
She was born June 21, 1953 in East Chicago, IL the daughter of Aurel and Kathryn (Mills) Quick. On October 27, 1974 she married
Donald E. Drummond. He survives.
Also surviving are a son: James P. Drummond of Lawrenceville, IL, 2 daughters: Donna M. Drummond of Lawrenceville, IL, Wilma J. Drummond of Lawrenceville, IL, a brother: Morris Quick of Wonderlake, IL, a grandchild: Dylan Drummond, and several nieces and nephews.
She worked at Suttle Apparatus for about 18 years. She was currently employed at Parkside Elementary School as a Teacher's Aide, and was part-time Secretary at her church.
The funeral will be Wednesday December 31, 2008 at 11:00am Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lawrenceville City cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
RETHA V. MEDLIN

Retha V. Medlin, 86, of Mattoon, IL (formerly of Lawrenceville) passed away Thursday December 25, 2008 at Palm Terrace Nursing Home in Mattoon, IL.
She was born September 25, 1922 in Sumner, IL the daughter of Claude Odious and Laura Bell (Smith) Culter. On September 26, 1946 she married
Paul K. Medlin. He died in 1976.
Retha made parachutes during WWII, and then worked various factory jobs. She also worked as a Nurse's Aide in various nursing homes in the area. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Linda Jacobs of Urbana, IL, Joan Barrett of Owensville, IN, Leila Culter Streck of Torrence, CA, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday December 29, 2008 at 2:00pm at Lawrencevillle City cemetery.

Merle Shoulders, Jr., 40, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away December 21, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born October 12, 1968, in Hoopeston, IL, the son of Merle E. Shoulders, Sr. and Dorothy (Sharum) Shoulders. He married
Evone Harrell June 29, 1990 and she survives. Merle worked for the Lawrenceville City Street Department for 15 years. He was a member of the Lawrenceville Elks and Moose.
Merle is survived by his wife, Evone (Harrell) Shoulders of Lawrenceville; his father and step-mother Merle, Sr. and Hazel (Rich) Shoulders of Birds, IL; his mother Dorthy (Sharum) Shoulders of Lawrenceville, IL; two sons Nathen and Dusten both at home; one step-son William Floyd of Bonifay, FL; eight brothers Brian and Jamie Shoulder of Vincennes, IN, Gary and Angela Shoulders, Jason and Jeannie Shoulders, Randy and Rita Shoulders, Travis Shoulders, Patrick O'Neal and Joshua Coffman all of Lawrenceville and Larry and Suzanne Cessna of Bothell, WA; two sisters Vicki Shoulders of Tacoma, WA and Wendy and Ed Reese of Birds, IL. Merle is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm with a memorial service at 6:00 pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. There will be no burial. The body will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
