DECEMBER 21, 2008

Ellis "Leo" Patterson, 78, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Sunday December 21, 2008 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 23, 1930 in Lawrence County the son of Ellis Reed and Mildred Marie (Rush Patterson. On December 21, 1963 he married Marvella Hornbuckle. She survives.

He worked as a carpenter and construction for years. He also worked as a maintenance man for the past 15 years. He owned and operated Leo's Sharp All Shop in Lawrenceville, IL. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union.

Along with his wife, he is survived by 2 sons: Steven Leo Patterson of Florida, Dennis Lee Patterson of Sellersburg, IN, a daughter: Kimberly Leah Patterson of Lawrenceville, IL, 4 brothers: Bob Patterson of Indianapolis, IN Dale Patterson of Marshall, IL, Larry Patterson of Robinson, IL, Darold Patterson of Rockville, IN, 3 sisters: Evelyn Bowden of Terre Haute, IN, Sharon Sherman of Austin, TX, Shirley Pinkstaff, Bridgeport, IL, and 1 grandchild.

The funeral will be Wednesday December 24, 2008 at 12:00noon at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will be at May Chapel cemetery. Visitation is also Wednesday from 10:00am until the service hour of Noon.

JAMES PERRY BARTLETT
DECEMBER 18, 2008

James Perry Bartlett, 37, of Anaheim, CA passed away Thursday December 18m 2008 at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Long Beach, CA.

He was born August 13, 2008 in St. Louis, MO. He was the son of Perry and Mary (Hodges) Bartlett.

Jim was a 1989 graduate of Lawrenceville High School. he worked for the Apollo Insurance Company in Los Lotos, CA. He served in the United States Navy during the Persian Gulf War.

He is survived by a daughter: Kristen Rene Bartlett of Kailua, HI, a sister: Tammy Miller of Lawrenceville, IL, Maternal Grandmother: Daisy Hodges of Lawrenceville, IL.

Arrangements are pending.

TRACY LYNN GRIMES
DECEMBER 16, 2008

Tracy Lynn Grimes, 38, of Vincennes, IN passed away December 16, 2008 in Daviess County, IN.

She was born June 12, 1970 in Vincennes, IN the daughter of Jarold (David) and Evelyn (Lieb) Grimes.

She is survived by her brother Trent and wife Stephanie also of Vincennes.

She was member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Vincennes, IN.

The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at the Central Christian Church, 303 Buchanan Drive, Lawrenceville, IL with burial to follow in the Bethabara cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Central Christian Church.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Kaleigh Grimes College Fund.

EVELYN KAY GRIMES
DECEMBER 16, 2008

Evelyn Kay Grimes, 58, of Vincennes, IN, passed away December 16, 2008 in Daviess County, IN.

She was born June 8, 1950 in Lawrence County, IL the daughter of Donald and Ethel (Green) Leib. She was married to Jarold (David) Grimes. He survives.

She is survived by 1 son Trent and wife Stephanie Grimes of Vincennes, IN, 2 brothers: Norman Leib of New Lebanon, OH and Richard Leib of Danville, IN, and 1 sister Donna Herrin of Jacksonville, FL. 1 daughter is deceased.

She was a homemaker and also worked as a beautician in Lawrence County, IL for many years. She was a member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Vincennes, IN.

The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at the Central Christian Church, 303 Buchanan Drive, Lawrenceville, IL with burial to follow in the Bethabara cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Central Christian Church.

ETHEL J. LEIB
DECEMBER 16, 2008

Ethel J. Leib, 80, of rural Lawrenceville, IL passed away December 16, 2008 in Daviess County, IN.

She was born September 5, 1928 in Lawrence County, IL the daughter of James and Edith (McBride) Green. She was married to Donald Leib who is also deceased.

She is survived by 2 sons: Norman Leib of New Labanon, OH and Richard Leib of Danville, IN, 1 daughter Donna Herrin of Jacksonville, FL, 1 brother Harold Greene of Prospect Heights, IL, and 3 sisters: Jesse Mays of Waldo, AR, Pat Kiley of Chicago, IL, and Doris DuFrene of Fort Walton, FL, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. 1 daughter, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 grandchild is deceased.

She worked at Johnson Controls for 22 years until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of the Central Christian Church.

The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at the Central Christian Church, 303 Buchanan Drive, Lawrenceville, IL with burial to follow in the Lawrenceville City cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Central Christian Church.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Central Christian Youth Fund.

Donald V. Leib, 82, of rural Lawrenceville, IL passed away December 16, 2008 in Daviess County, IN.

He was born September 29, 1926 the son of Jessie and Rene (Crouch) Leib. He was married to Ethel (Green) Leib who is also deceased.

He is survived by 2 sons: Norman Leib of New Lebanon, OH and Richard Leib of Danville, IN, 1 daughter Donna Herrin of Jacksonville, FL, and 4 sisters: Maxine Longnecker of Rockford, IL, Violet Parish of Sumner, IL, Nancy McAllister of Vincennes, IN, and Marlene Farrar of Lawrenceville, IL, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. 2 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 daughter, and 1 grandchild is deceased.

The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at the Central Christian Church, 303 Buchanan Drive, Lawrenceville, IL with burial to follow in the Lawrenceville City cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Central Christian Church.

DEANNA DEE BROWN
DECEMBER 15, 2008

Deanna Dee Brown, 70, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Monday December 15, 2008 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 1, 1938 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of Earl and Gladys (Seaton) Stressman. She was married to Lloyd "Sonny" Brown. He survives.

She is also survived by 2 sons: Scott and wife Carri Lengerak of Greenville, MI, Kirk and wife Ruth Brown of Kentwood, MI, 1 daughter Debra Brown of Kentwood, MI, 3 sisters: Barbara Collins of Grand Rapids, MI, Bonnie Nickerson of Greenville, MI, Kay Carter of Lawrenceville, IL, 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. 3 sisters are deceased.

She worked a a custodian in the Grand Rapids Public School System. She was a member of the VFW Auxilary in Lawrenceville and the Northeastern Sportsmans Club in Lowell, MI.

Arrangements are pending.

MIRIAM B. TILLERY
DECEMBER 14, 2008

Miriam B. Tillery, 92, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Sunday December 14, 2008 at lawrence Community Healthcare in Bridgeport, IL.

She was born January 25, 1916 in Albion, IL the daughter of Obed and Belle (Gillard) Barnes. On July 4, 1937 she married Jerry Otis Tillery. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1976.

Miriam had worked at the Knox County Treasurers Office. She also worked as an Executive Secretary for Golden Rule for 18 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Bridge Club.

She is survived by 2 sons: Jerry Tillery of Wilsonville, OR, John Tillery of Waxahachie, TX, 3 daughters: Nancy Fox of Lawrenceville, IL, Miriam Ruble of Vincennes, IN, Helen Foster of Bridgeport, IL, 13 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. 4 brothers and 3 sisters are deceased.

There will be a Graveside Service Friday at 11:00am at the Lawrenceville City cemetery. There is no visitation.

Memorial donations may be given to the First Presbyterian Church.

RONALD BOYD HARRINGTON
DECEMBER 5, 2008

Ronald Boyd Harrington, 71, of Russellville, IL passed away Friday, December 5, 2008 at Crestview Nursing Home in Vincennes, IN. He was born March 18, 1937 in Lawrence County to William Tommy Harrington, Sr. and Frances Agnes (Richards) Harrington.

Ronald was a retired oilfield driller. He really enjoyed fishing on the Wabash River. He was an Army Veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include three sons Ronald and Jamie Harrington of Flat Rock, Gary Harrington and Adam Harrington both of rural Lawrenceville; one daughter Frances a. Harrington of rural Lawrenceville; two brothers Victor Harrington of rural Lawrenceville and Robert Harrington of St. Francisville; nine sisters Frances Morse of Elizabethtown, IL, Cheryl Spangler of Paris, IL, Nila McGuire of Robinson, IL, Beulah Morris of Shelburn, IN, Martha Burress of Danville, IL, Twyla Lorance of Robinson, IL, Karen Wilson of Paris, IL, Sheila Neely of Manchester, TN, and Doris McDaniels, of Paris, IL; five grandchildren, as well as his ex-wife Ruthie Fidler whom he was married to for 27 years and Bettie Arnett who was his fiancee' for 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as seven brothers and sisters.

The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 pm CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Price cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 am until the service hour at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
