CHAD WILLIAM HURST, age 35, of 407 East Sycamore, Canton, Illinois formerly of Galesburg, Illinois died Monday. January 7, 2008 at 4:24 P.M. at his residence in Canton, Illinois. He was born on October 10, 1972 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of William "Randy" and Carol Diane Larson Hurst. He never married .
Surviving are his father and stepmother, W. Randy and Rosie Hurst of Williamsfield, Illinois; his mother and stepfather, C. Diane and Jim Copeland of Galesburg, Illinois; one sister, Keri (David) Schneller of Springfield, Illinois; four stepbrothers, Mark (Donna) Copeland of Gaylord, Michigan, David (Lisa) Copeland of Denver, Colorado, Quinn (Lisa) Anderson of Silverdale, Washington and Beau Anderson of Galesburg, Illinois; two stepsisters, Terri (Troy) Billeter of Gilson, Illinois and Erin (Billy) Kurasz of Spring Hill, Florida; two nieces, Alyssa Swenny of Springfield, Illinois and Addison Schneller of Springfield, Illinois; paternal grandparents, Bob and Helen Hurst of Canton, Illinois and his stepgrandmother, Catherine Copeland of Galesburg, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Wayne and Dorothy Larson.
He attended grade school in Galesburg, Illinois and graduated from Galesburg High School. He served his basic training in the United States Marine Corp. He worked for HyVee and Wonder Bread in Galesburg, Illinois. Then he did Fiber Optic underground line boring at Hartco in Geneseo, Illinois and later worked for Kinsel Septic Service in Canton, Illinois. Most recently he worked for Big Jim's Tree Service in Canton, Illinois. He was of the Catholic faith and was baptized at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg, Illinois.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Marilyn Anell officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008 from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Cremation Rites will be accorded with inurnment to be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Joyce Elaine Swanson
January 20, 1927 - January 7, 2008

Joyce Elaine Swanson, age 80, of 937 Willard, Galesburg, Illinois died at 11:12 A.M. on Monday, January 7, 2008 at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois. She was born on January 20, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Paul and Mabel Wheeler Peterson. She married Earl James. She later marred Norman C. Swanson in 1959 in Galesburg, Illinois. He survives of Galesburg, Illinois.
Also surviving are four sons, Michael Swanson of Iowa, Darrell Swanson of Galesburg, Illinois, Rodney Swanson of Peoria, Illinois and Terry James of Knoxville, Illinois; two stepdaughters, Linda of Quincy, Illinois and Teresa of Pontiac, Illinois; one stepson, Kenneth Swanson of Galesburg, Illinois; several grandchildren; and one half-sister, Mavis of Galesburg, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter: Joyce Ann James; one half-sister: Delores and one half-brother: John Peterson.
She was raised and educated in Macomb, Illinois graduating from Macomb High School. She was a homemaker. She worked as a charge aide for Galesburg Research Hospital for 18 years.
Cremation Rites will be accorded.
Graveside Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg, Illinois. Rev. Milton Marquith officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.

Roubidoux Mary
March 23, 1925 - February 16, 2012

Mary Roubidoux, age 86 of Victoria, Illinois died at 9:10 P.M. on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg, Illinois.
She was born on March 23, 1925 in Pueblo, Colorado, the daughter of John and Ana Kosovich Pauicich.
She is survived by her children, including Ardis Rask of Victoria, Illinois; Alice Brumfield of Waynesboro, Georgia; Raymond Roubidoux of Walden, Colorado; Mary Jo Torres, Pueblo, Colorado. Many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren in Illinois and Colorado.
Mary was a goodhearted, very spirited and generous person. She will be greatly missed.
Cremation Rites will be accorded. As per her request there will be no service.

James Michael Montenaro, Jr.
December 16, 1971 - February 11, 2012

James Michael "Hippie" Montenaro, Jr., age 40 of Reeds Spring, Missouri died at 5:50 P.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Reeds Spring, Missouri.
He was born on December 16, 1971 in Beckley, West Virginia, the son of James Michael and Eulaine Keffer Montenaro, Sr. He attended school at River Bend High School in Columbus, Ohio. He married Wendy Allen on November 19, 1994 in Oquawka, Illinois.
Surviving is a son, James Michael Allen Montenaro of Galesburg, Illinois and a daughter, Isabella Rene Montenaro of Galesburg, Illinois. His father, James Montenaro, Sr., of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Tina (Kelly) Carson of Marysville, Ohio and Shayla Ferguson of Reed Springs, Missouri; one brother, Daniel K. Nelson of Oak Hill, West Virginia. His fiance' Peggy Erb of Reeds Spring, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparent and aunt, Billy Jo Hammontree.
He was a laborer working as a welder, construction, and boat fabricator.
He was a member of the Deaf Club in Columbus, Ohio.
He enjoyed Scuba Diving, golf, NASCAR and fishing.
His children were his world.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Knoxville, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no funeral services. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family in care of his children.

Elizabeth Marie Sherbeyn
August 19, 1963 - February 15, 2012

Elizabeth Marie "Libby" Sherbeyn age 48, of La Fayette, Illinois died at 6:45 A.M. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at her home in La Fayette, Illinois.
She was born August 19, 1963 in Kewanee, Illinois the daughter of Harold and Gloria Pedigo Webster. She married Michael Gaetz on March 31, 1984, whom she had two daughters with. She then married Roger Sherbeyn on July 7, 2001 at the La Fayette Methodist Church in La Fayette, Illinois.
Surviving are two daughters: Tara (Jeff) Hinshaw of Germantown Hills, Illinois and Amber (Chris) Ford of Lewistown, Illinois. One stepdaughter: Brittany Sherbeyn of Galva, Illinois. One stepson: Cody Sherbeyn of Anchorage, Alaska. Five grandchildren: Jackson and Alannah Hinshaw; Addison and Aidan Ford; and Payton Smith. Two brothers: Martin Dean (Ester) Webster, Galesburg, Illinois and Dennis Allen (Cathy) Webster of Toulon, Illinois.
Her father and stepmother: Harold (Mary) Webster of Toulon, Illinois.
Her mother and one sister, Connie Marie Montague, preceded her in death.
She attended school in Stark County, Illinois. She worked for Toulon State Bank as a computer supervisor for 13 years. She was attending Illinois Community College in Peoria, Illinois.
She was of the Catholic Faith.
She enjoyed reading, fishing and motorcycle riding.
Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 2:30 P.M. the La Fayette Methodist Church Hall in La Fayette, Illinois. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville is assisting the Family with Services. Burial will be in West Jersey cemetery in West Jersey at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Family.

Madelyn S. Nava
March 30, 1946 - February 8, 2012

Madelyn S. Nava, age 65 of Galesburg, Illinois died at 6:50 P.M. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, Illinois.
She was born on March 30, 1946 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Leo and Arlene Reeves Webber. She attended and graduated from Galesburg High School, Galesburg, Illinois.
Surviving are her children: Lorrie (Jude) Lensly of Monmouth, Illinois; Dal Grady of Galesburg, Illinois; Monte (Kim) Grady of Galesburg, Illinois; Heather (Joshua) Heynen of Galesburg, Illinois and Amanda Nava of Galesburg, Illinois. Ten Grandchildren and eight Great-grandchildren. Three sisters: Marian Huffman of Galesburg, Illinois; Connie Burciaga of Galesburg, Illinois, and Debbie (Joe) Joseph of Galesburg, Illinois. Her companion cat "Woosie". Her parents and a brother-in-law, Dave Huffman, preceded her in death.
She enjoyed watching Football, but most of all spending quality time with her grandchildren.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg, Illinois. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg, Illinois. Memorials may be left to the Family. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory in charge of arrangements.

Kay Eagle
February 7, 1927 - February 1, 2012

Kay Eagle, 84 of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 11:25 PM, February 1, 2012, at Marigold Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
She was born February 7, 1927 in Danville, Iowa. The Daughter of “Connie” (New) and Clarence Sams.
Kay graduated from Galesburg High School in 1944. She married , Richard (Dick) M. Powers July 16, 1944. Her philosophy in life was: “You simply play the cards that you are dealt.” Handicapped from Polio in 1946 and having twins in 1949 did not stop her from obtaining goals in life, including returning to College at the age of 40.
She moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1956 where she resided for 37 years. She worked at Hughes Aircraft Company, Managed a chain of hotels and a pest control company during her working career.
Kay married Delbert N. Eagle in July 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived in Sahuarita, Arizona until July 1993 and then moved back to Galesburg, Illinois to be closer to family.
She touched many lives during her short journey here on earth and was an inspiration to her family as well as friends. With her positive outlook on life, she conquered many obstacles that came her way; she would just smile and continue without a “Complaint.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Eagle, Grandparents, and Parents. Surviving are two children, Sandy Meinhart, Knoxville, Illinois, Steve (Deb) Powers, Mahomet, Illinois. Three Stepchildren, Cheryl (Dan) Koertz of Wheaton, Illinois, Brad (Mel) Eagle, Victoria, Illinois. Rick (Ruth) Eagle, Altona, Illinois. Also surviving are 4 Grandchildren, Kevin L. Meinhart, Victoria, Texas; Stephanie Falls, Mahomet, Illinois; Danielle (Dustin) Tarter, Mahomet, Illinois; Tara (Mario) Morales, Mahomet, Illinois. 7 Grandchildren; 11 Step-Grandchildren and 14 Step-Great Grandchildren. Also surviving a Niece and Nephew of Sahuarita, Arizona Beth Ann Coonts (Steve) and Mark (Ann) Wyland and Sister-in-Law Janet Eagle of Wataga.
Our heart-felt thanks go to the staff of Marigold Nursing Home, Harbor Lights Hospice and Dr. Hill for all your loving care and concern shown to our Mother.
Cremation rites will be accorded and per her wishes there will be no public visitation or service. She will be taken “Home” to Tucson, Arizona with private family services. Donations may be made to March of Dimes, Harbor Lights Hospice, Marigold Nursing Home, or Guardian Angels Human Society, Galesburg, Illinois.
The Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory is handling local arrangements.

Stanley Gene Courtright
August 22, 1927 - May 7, 2011

STANLEY “GENE” COURTRIGHT, age 83 of Galesburg, Illinois died Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 10:25 P.M. at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, Illinois.
He was born on August 22, 1927 in Globe, Arizona the son of Ralph and Margaret Steward Courtright. He married Grace Cole on July 18, 1964 at the Knoxville Presbyterian Church in Knoxville, Illinois. She survives of Galesburg, Illinois.
Surviving are three sons: Don Billups, John Billups, and Steve Billups, and one daughter: Debora Courtright. Four Grandchildren and eight Great-Grandchildren.
He worked in the Sheet Metal Trade all of this life.
He served in the U.S. Maritime Services, National Guard and in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant in the Korean War.
He was inducted in the Galesburg Athletic Hall of Fame as a 2-Time State Champion Wrestler and was a 2-Time Golden Glove Champion in Boxing.
Private Graveside Services will held on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Knoxville cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois with Military Rites conducted by the Ralph M. Noble American Legion #285 of Galesburg, Illinois. Rev. Robert Wakefield officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Childrens Hospital.

John W. Dugan
July 30, 1919 - May 7, 2011

John W. "Bill" Dugan, age 91, of rural Knoxville, Illinois, died on Saturday, May 07, 2011 at 5:05 A.M. at the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Illinois.
He was born on July 30, 1919 in Little York, Illinois the son of John S. and Vivian Moore Dugan. He married Janet E. Mellinger on August 14, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa. She preceded him in death on September 16, 1998.
Surviving is a daughter: Cheryl (Tom) Whitsitt of Knoxville, Illinois.
One grandson, Jeff (Kelley) Whitsitt of Alexis, Illinois; two granddaughters, Jana (Jason) Shay of Knoxville, Tennessee and Julie (Bill) Kalin of Commerce Township, Michigan; Eight great-grandsons, Riley Whitsitt, Jack Whitsitt, Toby Whitsitt and Cade Whitsitt of Alexis, Illinois; Joah Shay of Knoxville, Tennessee; Nole Kalin, Alex Kalin, and Trace Kalin of Commerce Township, Michigan; and one great-granddaughter, Peija Shay of Knoxville, Tennessee.
He was reared and educated in Galesburg, Illinois graduating from Galesburg High School in 1937. He served in the United State Navy during World War II.
He worked for Brown's Specialty of Galesburg, Illinois then as an insurance agent for Industrial Casualty and Knox County Mutual for 25 years, while he farm in rural Knoxville for 60 years.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Knoxville, Illinois. He was also a member of the Harry Philblad American Legion Post #749 of Knoxville, Illinois, Knox County Farm Bureau, and the Rio Masonic Lodge #685 of Rio, Illinois. He served on the Knox County Fair Board and was a 4 - H Leader.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Michel D. Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, May 9, 2011 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois, with Masonic Services conducted by the Rio Masonic Lodge #685 at 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Knoxville cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois, with Military Rites.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Illinois or the Knox County 4 - H Foundation.
