Marjorie E. Howell, 85 of Brownstown, passed at 6:20 PM Friday, December 9, 2011 in the St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services are 11 AM Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the C & A Pagel Funeral Home, St. Elmo with burial to follow in Maplewood cemetery, St. Elmo. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society or donors choice.
Marjorie was born on April 2, 1926 in Milmine, IL the daughter of James T. and Dollie B. (Blankenship) Carter. She married Andrew F. Howell on July 15, 1969 in Hot Springs, AR and he preceded her in death. She was a retired LPN. Marjorie had worked at St. Joseph Hospital and Rehab Center, Hot Springs, AR and Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia. She was affiliated with Park Place Baptist Church, Hot Springs, AR and enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, and working in her yard.
Survivng are her son, John W. (wife, Nancy) Depew of Cowden, daughter; Stella Ward of Vandalia, 3 brothers; Jerry Carter of Dateland, AZ, Forest "Bud" (wife, Betty) Carter of Pamona, CA, Jack (wife, Maxine) Carter of Johnstown, CO, 9 grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and 2 sisters; Mary Stokes and Marie Doty.

Janet M. McEndollar
September 22, 1939 ~ December 4 2011
Janet M. McEndollar, 72 of Farina, passed Sunday, December 4, 2011 in her home.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, December 10, 2011 at C&A; Pagel Funeral Home, St. Elmo with Ellsworth Smith officiating. A private committal will be held at a later date at Sidener cemetery, rural Saint Elmo. Memorials are requested to Sidener cemetery.
Janet was born on September 22, 1939 in Christian Co., IL the daughter of Glenn and Gladys (Nowlin) Smith. She married Doyle McEndollar on May 3, 1964 at First Christian Church, Brownstown. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2004.
She was a homemaker and member of the Threads of Friendship Quilt Club.
Surviving are her daughter; Cathy Wilson of Effingham, three sons; Ed (wife, Vida) McEndollar of High Ridge, MO, Bob (wife, Linda) McEndollar of Creve Coeur, and Bradley (wife, Jeanine) McEndollar of Altamont, two sisters; Judy (husband, Joe) Barnick of Farina and Roselyn (husband, Ross) Stein of St. Peter, seven grandchildren; Janica (husband, Keith) Stoff and Jacob (wife, Yuree) McEndollar (children of Ed), Amanda, Amy, and Emma Wilson (children of Cathy), Tyler and Eben McEndollar (children of Bob), five great grandchildren, Abby and Nathan Stoff (children of Janica), Anna and Isaiah Carrillo (children of Amanda), Jayden Wilson (child of Amy), mother in law; Vontella McEndollar of Farina, sister in law; Myrna (husband, Wayne) Manley of Windsor.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Mildred Kohl, Letta Morris, and Jean May, brother; Bill Smith, and father in law; Kenneth McEndollar.

Velma Marie Lilly
September 16, 1916 - October 17, 2011
Velma Marie Lilly age 95 of St. Elmo, Illinois died Monday October 17, 2011 at Lutheran Care Center Altamont.
Funeral Services will be on Friday October 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Kessel Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday October 20th from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Springhill cemetery Rural Beecher City, Illinois. In lieu of flowers: Memorials may be made to the cemetery Fund of donor’s choice.
Velma was born on September 16, 1916 in Loudon Township the daughter of David R. and Hester M. (Wright) Bartimus. She was the first hot lunch cook at Wright’s School, she also was a cook at The Blue Grill and The Red Raven. She was a past 50 year charter member of the Royal neighbors of America.
She is survived by: Daughter: Della (Husband: William) Stewart of St. Elmo, Brother: Charles (Wife: Georgie) Bartimus of Polo, Mo., 4 grandchildren: Cheyral (Husband: Alan) Stein of Ellenton, Fl., Lyle (Late Carolyn) Stewart of Robinson, Il., David Stewart of St. Elmo and Jill Stewart of Urbana. Three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her Parents, Brothers: Murl and Earl Bartimus and great grandson: Robert Stewart.

Adam Lloyd Schumacher
November 10, 1987 - September 28, 2011
Adam Lloyd Schumacher, age 23 of Vandalia, Illinois, formerly of West Chicago, died Wednesday September 28, 2011 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday October 2, 2011 at St. Elmo Christian Church, Corner of Sixth and Main Streets St. Elmo. Visitation will be Saturday October 1, 2011 from 2 to 6 PM at the church. Burial will be at Maplewood cemetery St. Elmo. A memorial fund will be established in memory of Adam. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Adam Schumacher Memorial Fund, C/O Midland States Bank, 1611 Veterans Ave., Vandalia IL.
Adam was a college student and a seasonal employee at Feller Oilfield Service. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Chicago Bears Football Fan. He loved his dogs: Shadow, Lady and Joey. He enjoyed snow skiing, hunting, fishing and being with his friends.
He is survived by: Mother: Jolyn (Jeff Schwandt) Feller of Vandalia, Father: Dan Schumacher of Madison, WI, Brother: Mark Schumacher of Vandalia. Fiancée: Janelle Fritcher of Altamont, Uncles: Ken Schumacher of Woodstock, Dennis (Wife: Mickey) Schumacher of Phoenix, AZ, Kirk (Wife: Brenda) Feller of St. Elmo, Aunts: Sharon Schumacher of Beloit and Barb Schumacher of Belvidere.
He was preceded in death by: Paternal Grandparents: Ed and Laura (Wendt) Schumacher and Maternal Grandparents: Lloyd and Dorothy (Rockwell) Feller, Uncle: Edward Schumacher and Aunts: Darlene Schumacher.

Harold Maurice Powers
April 20th, 1931 - September 26th, 2011
Harold Maurice Bernard Powers, age 80, of St. Elmo, Illinois died Monday, September 26, 2011 at his home.
Memorial Services will be held on 10:30 AM Thursday September 29, 2011 at the Kessel Funeral Home, St. Elmo. Friends may greet the family at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Maplewood cemetery, St. Elmo. Memorials may be made in his name to: the Powers Family.
Harold was born on April 20, 1931 in Mattoon, Illinois, the son of: Maurice and Mary (Siemer) Powers. He married Betty Jane (Mitchell) Powers on January 3, 1973 in St. Elmo. He was orphaned at a young age and was raised by his grandparents on the family farm in Sigel.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was very dedicated to his wife Betty and her children. He retired in 1983 from Richardson Brothers Greenhouse, where he was employed for over 15 years.
He is survived by: Daughters: Betty Ann (Husband: Robert) Brown of St. Elmo, Sally (Husband: Jerry) West of New Hampton, Iowa and Patty (Husband Mike) Caraway of St. Elmo. Sons: John (Wife: Stephanie) Williams, Thomas (Wife: Sandra) Williams and David Oglesby all of St. Elmo. 14 grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren and many cousins. He was preceded in death by: His Parents, Wife and Infant Sister.

Ricky Gene Wadlow age 54 of St. Cloud, Florida formerly of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Arnold, Mo, died Sunday March 13, 2011 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
