OBLONG, Ill. - Vickie Lynn Provines, 7, of rural Sumner, died, along with her mother, Connie Sue Provines, at 8:56 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, as a result of injuries from an automobile accident in rural Lawrence County, Ill. She was born Jan. 30, 1995, in Vincennes, Ind., to Glen Provines and Connie Sue Curtis Provines. She is survived by her father; three brothers, Christopher Provines, Victor Provines and Cody Provines; her grandparents, Wally and Martha Curtis and Finley and Janit Provines; and her great-grandmother, Ruby Sholders. She died at the same time as her mother, Connie Sue Provines. Services are 10 a.m. today in Sumner United Methodist Church. Burial is in Sumner cemetery. Visitation 9 to 10 a.m.
Albert Liechty Schiele
PARIS, Ill. - Albert Liechty Schiele, 85, of Paris died at 7:12 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, in Terre Haute (Ind.) Regional Hospital. He was born June 23, 1917, in Vigo County, Ind., to Noah Schiele and Clara Liechty Schiele. Survivors include his wife, Leona Walker Shephard Schiele; one stepson, Richard J. Shephard Sr.; six stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; three nephews; three nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday in Stewart & Carroll Funeral Home. Burial is in Edgar cemetery, with graveside military rites by American Legion Post 211 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3601. Roberta G. Warters
ROBINSON, Ill. - Roberta G. Warters, 78, of Robinson died at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in Crawford Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 29, 1924, in Oblong to Charles Ames and Yone Wade Ames. Her husband, Dr. Charles J. Warters, died April 24, 1987. Survivors include one daughter, Vicki Lynne Whalen; one brother, Scott Ames; one sister, Charlene Ruddell; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. Services are pending at Pulliam Funeral Home.
Dorothy B. Coulter
ROBINSON, Ill. - Dorothy B. Coulter, 87, of Robinson, died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, in Crawford Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 18, 1914, in Jasper County to Albert Fear and Cora Cook Fear. Her first husband, Hershel McCoy, died July 27, 1963; her second husband, Burl Coulter, died October 1968. Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Martin; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services are noon CST today in Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, with the Rev. Dee Wolfe officiating. Burial is in Mound cemetery in rural Jasper County. Visitation is 10 a.m. until services.
Marilyn Munson
MARTINSVILLE, Ill. - Marilyn Munson, 59, of Martinsville, died at 1:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, in her residence, of cancer. She was a homemaker. She was born July 10, 1943, in Paris to Norman Macke and Maxine Bishop Macke. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Kenny Munson, whom she married
May 26, 1963; two sons, Mitchel Munson, of St. Louis and Marcus Munson of Martinsville; two daughters, Michelle Hauser and her husband, Ray, of Sullivan, Ill., and Marla Peebles and her husband, Blair, of Carmel; her father; one brother, Bill Macke and his wife, Lynn, of Sterling, Ill.; one sister, Linda Romines and her husband, Wes, of Martinsville; two grandchildren, Paige and Gabriel Peebles; and two nephews, Sheldon and Zach Macke. She was preceded in death by her mother. She was a member of Five Points Christian Church, where she had served as pianist for many years. Services are 10 a.m. CST Monday in Greenwell Funeral Home, with Larry Morecraft officiating. Burial is in Ridgelawn cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Five Points Christian Church.
Shirley Southard Prince
CASEY, Ill. - Shirley Southard Prince, 68, of Santa Clarita, Calif., and formerly of Casey and Charleston, died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, in Henry Mayo Hospital in Santa Clarita. She was born Dec. 6, 1934, to Raymond Southard and Goldie Harris Southard. Survivors include one son, Donald Ray Carver; one daughter, Nancy Castle; one brother, Loren Southard; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. James R. Buckner
MARSHALL, Ill. - James R. Buckner, 66, of Marshall was found dead in his residence, Saturday, June 14, 2003. He was born Feb. 12, 1937, in Marshall to Russell R. Buckner and Cecile M. Siverly Buckner. Survivors include one uncle, William Siverly; two aunts, Virginia Miller and Beverly Siverly; and several cousins. Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Pearce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Vernon Puriett officiating. STOY, Ill. - Charles "Steve" Miller Sr., 84, of Charleston and formerly of Stoy, died at 2:25 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, of a congestive heart condition. He was born Sept. 25, 1917, in rural Robinson to Ralph Miller and Julia D. Ducommon Miller. Survivors include his wife, Thelma A. Tracy Miller; two sons, Charles E. Miller Jr. and Jerry W. She was born April 15, 1936, in Paris to Russell Sexton and Ruby Towles Sexton. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Robert Williams; four daughters, Elizabeth Oakley, Linda Knabel, Lisa Speranza and Debra Laufer; one sister, Patricia Crow; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. MARSHALL, Ill. - Dwight T. Beltz, 76, of Marshall died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in Burnsides Nursing Home. He was born March 14, 1925, in Clark County to Fred Beltz and Faye Thompson Beltz. His wife, Maxine Pruiett Beltz, died Jan. 3, 1999. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Bucher and Sandra Johnson; one son, Randy Beltz; one brother, Dudley Beltz; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. DENNISON, Ill. - Bennie Ray Stevens, 63, of Dennison and formerly of Jackson County, Ind., died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, in Marshall, Ill. He was born Aug. 13, 1938, near Bakersfield, Calif., to Ben Stevens and Virginia Elizabeth Scott Stevens. Survivors include his wife, Alice Jean Kirby Stevens; two sons, Bennie Ray "Skipper" Stevens Jr. and Christopher Stevens; two brothers, Nickey Stevens and Timmey Stevens; three sisters, Betty Hicks, Patsy Campbell and Nancy Jean Stutsman; and three grandsons.
