FAIRFIELD, Ill. — Mary E. Bodner, 88, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
She retired from a garment factory.
She was a member of the Fairfield First Christian Church, Royal Neighbors and Eastern Star.
Surviving are nieces and nephews. Her husband, John A., died in 1963.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nale’s Funeral Home, with burial in Maple Hill cemetery.

Catherine Snider
OBLONG, Ill. — Catherine Snider, 85, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at her home.
She was a member of Prior Grove Church.
Surviving are her husband, James A. “Jim”; two daughters, Louise Karns of Sumner and Barbara Weck of Newton; four sons, Mike, Art and Tom, all of Oblong, and Jerry of London, Ky.; 16 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
A son, Richard, and her twin sister, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pulliam Funeral Home, with burial in Oblong cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Anna Isaacs
FAIRFIELD, Ill. — Anna Mae Isaacs, 63, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville of an apparent heart attack.
She was a CNA for Home Health Care.
She was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle.
Surviving are her husband, Burnel; two daughters, Sharon Caldwell and Vickey Murphy, both of Fairfield; two sons, Rick and David, both of Fairfield; two sisters, Wanda Gensler of Salem and Norma Saale of Sandoval; a brother, Sonny Wimberly of Sandoval; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Nale’s Funeral Home Fairfield Chapel, with burial in Garrison cemetery.

Ethel Outler
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. — Ethel M. Outler, 95, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at the United Methodist Village.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are five sons, Dean of rural Lawrenceville, Glenn of Lawrenceville, Bill and Roger, both of Bridgeport, and Gene L. of Hammond, Ind.; a brother, Byron Catterton of Griffith, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Daniel E., preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home, with burial in Otterbein cemetery.

Ira Goff
FAIRFIELD, Ill. — Ira W. Goff, 80, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
He retired from the Union Oil Co. as field supervisor.
He was a member of the Griffin Christian Church, Wadesville Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Albion Moose.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy (McGuires-Fears); two daughters, Mary Bland of Griffin, Ind., and Lola Lea Seals of Mount Carmel, Ill.; a son, Ira Eugene Goff of Benton; four sisters, Irene Fry, Wilma Wilson and Maxine Laffan, all of Robinson, and Margaret Goodart of Valparaiso, Ind.; and five grandchildren.
His first wife, Thelma, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Grayville, with burial in Mount Pleasant cemetery in Griffin.

Alfred VanWinkle
HARRISBURGH, Ill. — Alfred E. “Gene” VanWinkle, 80, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at the Welborn Rehabilitation Center in Evansville.
He had been a butcher for the Elburn Packing Co., retiring in 1973, after 37 years.
He was a World War II veteran and attended New Castle Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Lois Fitzgerald of Appleton, Wis., and Deborah Walker of Harrisburg; a stepson, Wilford Danekas of Hinckley; nine grandchildren, Shelley, Randy, Kelley, Danny, Laura, Michael, Sharon, Bill and Ron; and 11 great-grandchildren.
His wife, Laura Ellen (Frakes), died in 1996.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Reed Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Lawn cemetery.
Jimmie Carman
ELIZABETHTOWN, Ill. — Jimmie Ray Carman, 57, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at Hardin County General Hospital of cancer.
Surviving are three sisters, Rose Jackson of Stonefort, Brenda Dixon of Cave In Rock and Janet Barnard of Elizabethtown; and three brothers, Bobbie Carman of Elizabethtown and Sam Rose of Creal Springs.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hosick Funeral Home, with burial in Dixon-Volkert cemetery.

Joy Gowin
OBLONG, Ill. — Joy I. Gowin, 85, formerly of Oblong, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at the home of her son in Merrillville, Ind.
She was a school teacher in the Bend area and had also worked as a bookkeeper.
She was a member of Southside Wesleyan Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Jere of Merrillville and Barry of Florida; a sister, Jessie Neeley of Claremont; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1984, and by a daughter, Barbara Gowin, in 1948.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Pulliam Funeral Home Oblong Chapel, with burial in Oblong cemetery.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. — Douglas L. Mahrenholz, 49, formerly of Vincennes, Ind., died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes of an apparent heart attack.
He was a driver for Emulsions, Inc.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Elks, Moose, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Lawrenceville.
Surviving are his wife, Amy (Carson); two daughters, Kristen Mahrenholz of Jefferson City, Mo., and Shannon Abel of Indianapolis; three sons, Justin Mahrenholz of Bridgeport, Jeremy Mahrenholz of Evansville, and Jeffrey Abel of Vincennes; two brothers, Gene and Steve, both of Lawrenceville; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gardner & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Park cemetery, both in Vincennes.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. — Garnett Gladys Trautman, 95, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at the United Methodist Village.
She attended Central Christian Church.
Surviving are a niece and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Noel “Pete” McCarty, and by her second husband, Henry W. Trautman.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home, with burial in Waggoner cemetery.
