Gerald Mullen
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. — Gerald “Red” Mullen, 86, formerly of Marion, died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at his home.
He had owned and operated Mullen Road Boring.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Corps of Engineers in Alaska.
He was a 55-year member of Bridgeport Masonic Lodge, a 50-year member of Ainad Shrine Temple in Danville and was a member of the Elks 1208.
He was Methodist.
Surviving are two daughters, Sheryl Strange of rural Bridgeport and Bobbie Blackburn of Fort Myers, Fla.; a brother, Harry Jr. of Patoka; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Tom.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home, with burial in Cresthaven Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to service time at the funeral home.

Rev. Wilson Rister
ELDORADO, Ill. — The Rev. Wilson Rister, 76, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg.
He was a farmer. He had also been a minister for more than 40 years and was a founder of Camp Oxford youth camp.
He was a member of Emmanuel General Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary (Davis); a stepdaughter, Mary Ann Curry of Eldorado; three sons, Bill, Richard and Ivan, all of Harrisburg; four stepsons, Robert Davis of Eldorado, Mike and William Davis, both of Harrisburg, and Paul Davis of Omaha; a sister, Reta Awalt of Batavia; two brothers, Adrian of Harrisburg and Eugene of Broughton; six grandchildren, Tammy Basham, Sherie McCormick and Matthew, Rachael, Pam and Zachary Rister; 10 stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
His first wife, Eva, died in 1990.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Watson Funeral Home, with burial in Lindale cemetery.

V. Fern Paddick
SUMNER, Ill. — V. Fern Paddick, 92, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital.
She was a retired school teacher in Lawrence County.
She was a member of Central Christian Church, the National Teachers Association and the Garden Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Joanne Downs of Detroit; a son, Jack of Sumner; a sister, Goldie O’Dell of Noble; a brother, Wilbur Brownfield of Sumner; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, P. Manley, in 1984, and by four sons.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Chauncey City cemetery.
There will be no visitation at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home.

Amelia Clodfelder
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. — Amelia Belle Clodfelder, 90, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at the United Methodist Village.
She was a retired school teacher.
She was a member of Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Austin Clodfelder; a sister, Bertha Whitehouse of Harrodsburg, Ky.; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Spring Hill cemetery in Harrodsburg.
There will be no visitation at Smith Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.
Hobart Hamilton
ROBINSON, Ill. — Hobart V. Hamilton, 81, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at Crawford Memorial Hospital.
He retired in 1975 after 37 years of service as a teacher in the Oblong country schools. He was also a farmer.
He was a member and served in all offices of East Porterville Christian Church and was a member and past president of the Robinson Kiwanis.
Surviving are his wife, Mary (Lamb); two sons, Jerry of Naperville and Roger of Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Nina Mae Holt of Robinson; two grandchildren, Molly and Dallon Hamilton; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Goodwine Funeral Home Robinson Chapel, with burial in Oblong cemetery.

MOUNT CARMEL, Ill. — Mary E. Cotton, 82, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at Lawrenceville Manor.
Surviving are a sister, Bessie Caron of Mount Carmel; and a brother, John Arnold of Sunrise Beach, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Highland Memorial cemetery.

HUTSONVILLE, Ill. — Cecil LaVaughn Kendall, 66, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at his home of cancer.
He retired in 1995 from J.M. Jones Co. in Champaign after 25 years of service.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene (Burr); a daughter, Angela Malone of Robinson; his mother, Ruth Kendall Lawhead of Robinson; a sister, Cathy Lawhead of Robinson; three stepsisters, Irrila Hoover and Imogene Murphy, both of Robinson, and Florence Wall of Kentucky; seven brothers, Gerald Lawhead of Dietrich, Raymond Lawhead of Elizabethtown, Ky., Kenny, Donnie, Gary and Paul Lawhead, all of Effingham, and David Lawhead of Breeze; a stepbrother, Clarence Lawhead of Oblong; two grandchildren, Clayton and Sabrina Malone; and nieces and nephews.

HARRISBURG, Ill. — Wayne Lanham, 81, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at Good Shepard Nursing Home.
He had worked as a miner.
He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Eldorado where he served as a deacon, the Masonic Lodge in Raleigh and Detroit, the Shrine and the Blue Lodge.
Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Joann (Mills); a daughter, Donna K. Dawes of Plano, Texas; two sons, Curtis Tite of O’Fallon and Mike Tite of Eldorado; six grandchildren, Wesley and Sheena Tite, Ryan Dawes, Rhona Pinkney, Kim Sampson and Becky Moreland; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Watson Funeral Home, with burial in Raleigh Masonic cemetery in Raleigh.

ROSICLARE, Ill. — Lora M. Stacey, 89, formerly of Rosiclare, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at Park View Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Surviving are a brother, Alvin Banks of Herod; and two grandchildren, Lynda Elam and Michael Joiner.
She was preceded in death by twin daughters, who died in infancy, and by another daughter, Molly Frances Joiner, in 1997.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Good Hope cemetery in Herod.

SALEM, Ill. — Ella M. Lesher, 82, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at the Salem Township Hospital.
She was a member of the Baptist Church in Wadesville.
Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Hadden of Poseyville, Ind., Marsha Wolfe of Salem and Donna Goodrum of Milford, Mich.; a brother, Wayne Johnson; seven grandchildren, Jane and Jack Hadden, Michael and Josh Goodrum, and Clint, Troy and Heath Wolfe; and seven great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Glenn T., died in 1995.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home, with burial in East Lawn cemetery.
