Marjorie Youngblood
KEENES, Ill. — Marjorie L. Youngblood, 64, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, of cancer at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Ill.
She was a member of Ten Post Oak Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Peggy Deitz of Keenes, Janet Schumm of Wayne City, Joyce Ann White of Dubois and Ruby Green of Fairfield; a son, Carl of Keenes; a sister, Prudie Harden of Riverton; two brothers, Bill Braddy of Mendota and Russell Braddy of Mount Vernon; and 13 grandchildren.
Her husband, Marsh, died in 1991.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, with burial in Thomason cemetery, both in Wayne City.

Junior Henton
BONE GAP, Ill. — Junior Richard Henton, 72, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at his home of cancer.
He was a retired carpenter and a member of the carpenters union.
He was a World War II Army veteran and member of the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jo (Xanders); three sons, Gary of Rochelle, Ga., Larry of Bone Gap and Tom of Olney; two sisters, Mildred Moore of Bone Gap and Wilma Cruit of Mowequa; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ingram Funeral Home Albion Chapel, with burial in the Bone Gap cemetery.

Robert Grubbs
ELDORADO, Ill. — Robert “Bob” Grubbs, 76, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at Ferrell Hospital of an apparent heart attack. He was a self-employed concrete finisher, worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation for more than 17 years and had co-owned Skateland Skating Rink for several years.
He had coached Khoury League baseball and was active in the Democratic Party for more than 50 years.
He attended Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Helen (Grimes); a daughter, Evelyn Jennings of Mount Carmel, Ill.; a son, Robert of Eldorado; three sisters, Irene Hartwell of Clearwater, Fla., Lovenia Hall of Bossier City, La., and Norma Sue Ennis of Boise, Idaho; a brother, Roy of Ashville, N.C.; six grandchildren, Jeff Grubbs, Julie Fromm, Jill Deaton and Katie, Valeria and Emily Jennings; three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Watson Funeral Home, with burial in Wolf Creek cemetery.

Margaret McCormick
ST. FRANCISVILLE, Ill. — Margaret E. McCormick, 85, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at Lawrenceville Manor Nursing Home.
She had been the co-owner of the Couch Insurance Agency in St. Francisville.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Women’s Club, both in St. Francisville.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Jane Blaase of Greenwood, Ind.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Frank, died in July.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, with burial in Oak Lawn cemetery.

Dorothy Smith
McLEANSBORO, Ill. — Dorothy D. Smith, 92, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at McLeansboro Healthcare. She was Baptist.
She retired from the W.T. Grant Co. in Mansfield, Ohio, after 25 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Peggy Barr of McLeansboro and Betty Gordon of Waterford, Mich.; a sister, Madge Gernhardt of Newark, Ohio; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Paul.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Harre Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.

J.C. Mehaffey
CARMI, Ill. — J.C. Mehaffey, 90, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at the Wabash Christian Retirement Center.
He was the manager of the Mobil Oil Co. for 41 years.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Virginia (O’Brien); three sons, John of Eldorado, Kan., Mike and Jerry, both of Carmi; a sister, Nell Edwards of Lake Junaluska, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Kathleen Seeley, Patricia, Darren, Wesley and Patrick Mehaffey, Alex Whitlock and Rodney Wiethop; and two great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Jean Ann Whitlock, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Campbell Funeral Home, with burial in White County Memorial Gardens.

SHAWNEETOWN, Ill. — Eloise J. Miller, 85, of Harrisburg formerly of Ridgway and Shawneetown, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shawneetown.
Surviving are her husband, Carl J.; and two sisters, Rita Yokley of Florida, and Delores Freson of Huntingburg, Ind.
She was preceded in death by three husbands, George Fromm, Joe Fals and Zach Wood.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cox & Son Funeral Home, with burial in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery in Ridgway.

She and her late husband, H.D., had owned and operated H.D. Beans Jewelry Store in Carmi.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Gubbins of Minooka; a son, Tom of Plano, Texas; and two grandchildren, Tommy and Michael Bean.

NORRIS CITY, Ill. — Charmie Jo Cross, 77, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. She was Christian.
Surviving are three daughters, Shelia Albright of Norris City, Patricia Elkins of Abington, Va., and Tammy Smith of Huntsville, Ala.; a son, Nathaniel Melvin of Georgia; a sister, Lena Vickers of Meadowview, Va.; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Her husband, C.W., died in 1995.

ROBINSON, Ill. — Elma Graham Morris, 97, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at the Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong.
She had worked in sales at a cemetery in Dallas.
Surviving are her son, John Trent of Dallas; three grandsons, Jonathan, Philip and Christopher Trent; two great-granddaughters; and three great-grandsons.
Her husband, Edgar Ray Morris, died in 1974 and her twin sister, Velma Graham, preceded her in death.

ELDORADO, Ill. — William C. Haywood, 72, of Grand Rivers, Ky., died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
He had worked at US Steel in Gary, Ind., for 32 years.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys of Dawson Springs, Ky.; two daughters, Martha Kacerski of Merrillville, Ind., and Joyce Ellis of Jefferson City, Mo.; a stepson, Richard Shak of Coral Gables, Fla.; two sisters, Loveda Goodman of Kankakee and Maxine Russell of Portage, Ind.; a brother, Jerry of Evansville; five grandchildren, Chris, Mark, Anthony Gaines and James and Karl Kacerski; and five great-grandchildren.
