ALBION, Ill. — Mary Yokel, 74, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at Rest Haven Nursing Home from pneumonia.
She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Mount Carmel.
Surviving are her husband, Robert W.; two daughters, Evelyn Rivenbark of Palm Bay, Fla., and Teresa Robinson of Olney; two sons, Robert D. of Albion and Gerald Roberts of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Mildred Conover and Margaret Nevius, both of Mattoon; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ingram Funeral Home, with burial in West Village cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Jon Lee
BRIDGEPORT, Ill. — Jon Grant Lee, 40 died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at his home. The Lawrence County coroner attributed the death to natural causes.
He had been a fireman for the Bridgeport Fire Protection District and worked for the Mid American Air Center.
He was a member of the Assembly of God and the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are a son, Jon Douglas of Bridgeport; and a sister, Terri Schultz of Lawrenceville.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bridgeport City cemetery.

Oren Smith
ALBION, Ill. — Oren E. Smith, 56, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at Wabash General Hospital in Mount Carmel of an apparent heart attack.
He was the Edwards County sheriff and was deputy sheriff for 24 years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Albion Fire Department.
He was an Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Emma Lou; a daughter, Pam Smith of Olney; and a son, Glenn of Pekin.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, with burial in Graceland cemetery, with military rites.

George Foley
ENFIELD, Ill. — George Wilburn “Wib” Foley, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at the Enfield Healthcare Center.
He retired in 1975 as a body shop man.
He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane (Rodden); four daughters, Louise Robertson of Carmi, Mildred Medlin and Shirley Smith, both of Enfield, and Susan Pearson of Springfield; a son, Billy of Benton; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Linda Carol Hames, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Kitty Sweeten cemetery in Springerton.

Bernice McCoy
ROBINSON, Ill. — Bernice Almira McCoy, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at the West County Nursing Center in Ballwin, Mo.
She had worked for the Robinson Transformer Co.
She was a member of the Robinson First Christian Church of the Disciples of Christ and the American Legion Post 69 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Braun of Grandview, Mo.; a son, Richard of Manchester, Mo.; a sister, Glenore Jones of Robinson; five grandsons, Deriek and Ryan Braun and Craig, Brian and Chad McCoy; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George V., and a daughter, Colette Sue McCoy.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Goodwine Funeral Home, with burial in Robinson New cemetery.

Earl Mendenhall
PALESTINE, Ill. — Earl E. “Pinky” Mendenhall, 77, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, of cancer at his home.
He was a farmer and retired from the E.H. Barre Co. in 1984. He worked at the Palestine Community Unit 3 school system for several years.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 849.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth (Graham); four daughters, Margaret Littlejohn of Palestine and Linda Ragiand, Kathy York and Dawn Hussey, all of Robinson; six sons, Leon of Palestine, Ronnie of Carmi, Nolan of Robinson, Bruce of Albion, Rick of West Union and Keith of Newton; three sisters, Edna Scott of Oblong, Bessie Hale of Robinson and Ruby Bex of Terre Haute, Ind.; three brothers, Benjamin Jr. of Robinson, Earnie of Oblong and Smith “Buster” of Mount Sterling; 32 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A son, Terry, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Goodwine Funeral Home, with burial in Oblong cemetery.

CARRIER MILLS, Ill. — Raymond Mitchell, 66, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Surviving is his brother, Henry Mitchell of Carrier Mills.

Roberta Billingsly
ROBINSON, Ill. — Roberta Billingsly, 89, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center.
She had worked as a telephone operator and had been a cook at the Palestine Unit 3 school system.
She was a member of the Palestine First Christian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Sara Sunderman of Evansville; a son, Robert of Robinson; a brother, Don Stewart; three grandchildren, Heidi Cooper, Matthew and Michael Billingsly; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Vaughn, died in 1946.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Goodwine Funeral Home, with burial in the Palestine cemetery.

Leroy Digby
ENFIELD, Ill. — Leroy Digby, 58, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro of a heart attack.
He was a tank truck driver for the B&B; Oil Field Co. in Norris City.
He was a Vietnam War Navy veteran and member of the American Legion Post 106. He was Protestant.
Surviving are five daughters, Heather Young of Oregon, Christina Gollner of Springerton, Melissa Lee of Norris City, Brandy and Mandy Digby, both of Enfield; four sons, David, Paul and Perry Wilburn, all of Burney, Calif., and Jason Digby of Enfield; a sister, Joanne Ferrell of California; two brothers, Woodrow of Wisconsin, and Carl of McLeansboro; 16 grandchildren; and his companion, Joann Winter of Enfield.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Gholson Funeral Home, with burial in Digby Hill cemetery, with military rites.

Donald Tewell
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. — Donald H. “Don” Tewell, 72, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at his home from Parkinson’s disease and emphysema.
He was a self-employed masonry contractor and member of the Highway Church of God.
Surviving are his wife Wilma (Goff); three daughters, Donna Organ Harris and Kris Sovdi, both of rural Lawrenceville, and Sherry Harder of Flora; two sons, Scott of rural Lawrenceville and Roger of rural Bridgeport; a sister, Opal Carrico of New Orleans; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Highway Church of God, with burial in May Chapel cemetery.
