Brenda G. Brown of Carpentersville
Services for Brenda G. Brown, 52, formerly of Elgin, will be held at 1 p.m. today, at Fox Valley Baptist Church in East Dundee. The Rev. Phil Zielinski will officiate.
Born June 1, 1946, in Welch, W. Va., to Cecil and Alice (nee Culp) Lester, she died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Burial will be in Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee.
Mrs. Brown was a member of Fox Valley Baptist Church in East Dundee.
Survivors include her husband, Granville Robert Brown of Carpentersville; daughters, Tammy Lynn (Joe) Williams of Rockford and Tina Marie (Dave) Amick of Scottsberg, Ind.; sons, Robert D. Brown of Danville and Scotty (Julie) Brown of Carpentersville; grandchildren, Jennifer, Melinda, Melissa, Scott Jr., Cameron, Gary and Luke; sisters, Kathy Polly of Schiller Park, Barbara Gilock of Kentucky and Connie Lester of West Virginia; and brother, Mando (Lula) Lester of West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of services today, at the church.

Virginia T. Bullock (nee Taylor), 85, of Arlington Heights, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999. Arrangements were made by Gibbons Funeral Home, Elmhurst, (630) 832-0018.

Mary B. Earhart of Des Plaines
Services for Mary B. Earhart, 82, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Village Church of Gurnee, 1319 N. Hunt Club Rd., Gurnee. Pastor Todd Habegarr will officiate.
Born Aug. 13, 1916, in Elmira, N. Y., she died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Condell Medical Center. Interment will be private.
Survivors include her sons, William (Judy) Earhart of Plano, Texas and Rob (Jean) Earhart of Vernon Hills; grandchildren, Kevin, Eric, Brian and Thomas; and brothers, Paul Bruton of Albany, N. Y. and William (Jean) Bruton of Attica, N. Y.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; and brother, John Bruton.
Arrangements were made by Marsh Funeral Home, Gurnee.

Edward J. `Jim' Fitzgerald of Vernon Hills for two years
Funeral services for Edward J. `Jim' Fitzgerald, 73, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville, with the Rev. John P. Finnegan officiating.
Born Oct. 3, 1925, in Chicago, he passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at his home. Entombment will follow in Ascension Cemetery.
Mr. Fitzgerald lived on the near north side of Chicago for most of his life. He graduated from St. Mel High School in Chicago and the University of Missouri with a degree in journalism. He was also a veteran of the Army Air Corps, having served during World War II. In 1961, he began his career as a sportswriter and copy editor with the Chicago Tribune.
An avid golfer and bowler, he bowled in the American Bowling Congress annual tournament for 45 years, and was past president of the Bowling Writer's Association of America. Jim also wrote many books and articles on bowling, and won many writing awards.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene Fitzgerald of Vernon Hills; children, James (Suzanne) Fitzgerald of Beach Park and Linda (Craig) Ricco of Wauwatosa, Wis.; and four grandchildren, Lauren, Megan, Kyle and Julia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwardand Josephine Fitzgerald; sister, Joan; and infant twin sister, Patricia Ann.
Friends of the family may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.

Lois I. Forby formerly of Libertyville
Services for Lois I. Forby, 89, of Seminole, Fla., will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville.
Born April19, 1909, in Skyler, Neb., she passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at the Inn at Freedom Square in Seminole. Interment will be in Willow Lawn Memorial Park in Mundelein.
Formerly a 25-year resident of Libertyville, she had also been a resident of Elgin and had lived in Florida since 1979.
She was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Libertyville, Order of the Eastern Star in Libertyville and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Florida. A former employee of the Libertyville Lumber Company, she was a former member and librarian of the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra.
Survivors include her children, Glen (Jennifer) Forby of Skokie and Marilyn (Wesley) Whiteside of Bettendorf, Iowa; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Harold Forby; brother, Turner Ross; and sisters, Phyllis Alendal, Irma Jorgenson and Eleanor Baylow.
Visitation will be at the time of services at the funeral home.

Alice G. Gorske of Waukegan
A graveside service for Alice G. Gorske, 79, formerly of Evanston, Chicago and Downers Grove, will be held at noon Thursday, at Princeton City Cemetery, Princeton, Wis.
Born April 30, 1919, in Princeton, she passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Pavilion of Waukegan Nursing Home.
Alice has been a Waukegan resident since 1992, following a career as a private residence housekeeper on the North Shore.
Surviving are her brothers, Orville (Lorraine) Gorske of Mundelein and Merlin Gorske of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Alice Gorske; brothers, Wilmer and Adolph; and sisters, Lenore, Luetta and Anita.
Arrangements were made by Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, Libertyville.

Robert Grass formerly of Wheeling
A memorial Mass for Robert Grass, 63, most recently of Grayslake, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Joseph the Worker Church.
Born April 26, 1935, in Keokuk, Iowa, he died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Entombment will be private.
Mr. Grass was a retired construction superintendent for Pepper Construction.
He was the husband of Grace (nee Bozzelli); father of Daniel (Yolanda); grandfather of Justin; and brother of Virginia Breitenstein and the late Donald Grass and Dorothy Ireland.
In lieu of flowers, Masses or donations to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.

Anthony Gurgiolo of McHenry
A funeral Mass for Anthony Gurgiolo, 80, will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Church of St. Mary, 1401 N. Richmond Road, McHenry.
Born Sept. 18, 1918, in San Jose, Calif., to Francisco and Rosa Gurgiolo (nee Visconti), he died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at his home. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
When he was a child, Mr. Gurgiolo moved with his parents to Trabia, Sicily, and was raised there. In 1934, he returned to the United States, and resided in Pittsburgh, where he married Mary Marsella on June 20, 1940. They moved to Chicago in 1941, where he owned a barber shop at Pulaski and Armitage from 1947 to 1987. In 1987, he and his wife moved to McHenry.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary; daughter, Marlene Gurgiolo of Crystal Lake; son, Anthony (Donna Marie) Gurgiolo of Rolling Meadows; six grandchildren, Monica Barba, Donnalyn Gurgiolo, Adam Gurgiolo, Thomas Maycock Jr., Jason Maycock and Anthony Maycock; great-grandson, Nicholas Maycock; sisters, Angeline and Engina Piazza, both of Italy; and two brothers, Nick Gurgiolo of Pittsburgh and Antonio Gurgiolo of Italy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at George R. Justen and Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry.

Helen S. Heil of Arlington Heights
Prayers for Helen S. Heil (nee Shea), 93, formerly of Niles and Des Plaines, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Friday, at Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at St. James Church, 841 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.
Born March 8, 1905, in Chicago, she died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at the Lutheran Home and Service for the Aged in Arlington Heights. Interment will be in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles.
Mrs. Heil had been employed at A. C. Nielsen and Company for 32 years. She was past president of Ravenswood Unit 149 of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was the beloved wife of the late Emmett; loving mother of John H. (Martha) Heil Sr. of Savannah, Ga., Thomas H. Heil of Aurora, Colo. and the late Robert E. Heil and Jeannie L. (Robert) Ketchpaw; devoted grandmother of nine; and great-grandmother of 14. She was also preceded in death by six brothers.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at thefuneral home.

Virginia M. Johnson of Streamwood
Services for Virginia M. Johnson, 74, will be held at 8 p.m. today,at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin.
Rev. Joseph F. Kulak will officiate.
Born June 29, 1924, in Oshkosh, Wis., the daughter of Albert and Ila Miller, she died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Burial will be private.
She had been a resident of Streamwood for the past 30 years. She was a graduate of Mercy School of Nursing in Oshkosh. She had been employed as a registered nurse at various hospitals and nursing homes in the Streamwood area.
Survivors include her husband, Benjamin S. Johnson, whom she married on Aug. 12, 1948; daughters, Nancy (Paul) Thomsen of Elgin, Vicki (Don) Blanken of Elgin and Barbara (Tom) Katchmer of Fox Lake; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Eileen Furman of Fond du Lac, Wis. and Karen Johnson of Oshkosh.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son in infancy.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of services today, at the funeral home.

Barbara J. Kinzie of Arlington Heights
Prayers for Barbara J. Kinzie (nee Trew), 64, will be said at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. (two blocks south of Dundee Rd.), Wheeling.
Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Edna Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights.
Born May 11, 1934, in Quincy, Ill., she died Monday, March 1, 1999, at the Claremont Nursing Home. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.
A resident of Arlington Heights for more than 15 years, she was employed with Allstate Insurance Company in Northbrook in accounts payable for 17 years, and K-Mart in Palatine as a retail supervisor for 16 years.
She was the former wife of Michael Kinzie; mother of Brian Kinzie of Chicago, Kevin Kinzie of Streamwood, Curtis Kinzie of Streamwood, Beth Ann (Skip) Frank of Mundelein, Karen Kinzie of Houston, Texas and Christine Pyle of Houston; sister of Daniel (Marcia) Trew of Buffalo Grove and Janet DeWaal of Mundelein; grandmother of three; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
