Larry Russell

NORRIS CITY — Larry Russell, 50, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at his home. He had pancreatic cancer.

He was a painter for Emmerick Brothers and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Jo; a daughter, Janet Russell of Norris City; a son, Chris of Norris City; his parents, “Buck” and Agnes Russell of Enfield; a sister, Barbara Heck of Dahlgren; and two brothers, Terry of Enfield and Robert of Norris City.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Campbell Funeral Home, with burial in Powell cemetery.

William Smith

ROBINSON — William Edward Smith, 87, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Crawford Memorial Hospital.

He retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad as a conductor.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Dama D. of Franklin; a daughter, Catherine Y. Lafary of Robinson; five grandchildren, David Lee and Darryl Lafary, Diana Lynn Armstrong, Karletta Gressner and Joanne Anderson; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

His first wife, Lillian Francis, preceded him in death.

Services and visitation will be private. The body will be cremated. Pulliam Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Timothy Wilson

CROSSVILLE — Timothy E. Wilson, 32, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at his home. The White County coroner is investigating the death.

He was a construction worker and had worked for Guenther & Nash Construction Co. in Princeton, Ind.

Surviving are his mother, Shirley Wilson of Newburgh, Ind.; his father, Otho Wilson of Crossville; and a brother, Dean Alan of Kenai, Alaska.

Memorial services are pending at Sturm Funeral Home in Crossville.

Byford Reynolds

HARCO — Byford C. Reynolds, 85, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion.

He had been a teacher at Cedar Springs School and then worked at Naugle General Store in Harco.

He was a World War II Army veteran and member of the Eldorado Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3479.

He was a 50-year Mason and member of Scottish Rite.

Surviving are a daughter, Lois Anne Reynolds of Harco; and a sister, Lois Naugle of Harco.

His wife, Beulah Nell (Grazulis), died in 1980.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Brushy cemetery, with military rites. There will be no visitation at Sloan Funeral Home.

Kevin Cofer

ROBINSON — Kevin W. Cofer, 20, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana of a single vehicle accident in Martin Township in Crawford County.

He worked for Furniture & Mattress Liquidator in Robinson.

Surviving are a daughter, Trina Michelle Cofer of Robinson; his mother, Brenda Newman of Robinson; a sister, Katrina Cofer of Decatur; a brother, Michael of Decatur; and a nephew.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pulliam Funeral Home, with burial in Robinson New cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Care Center or the American Red Cross.

Imogene St. Laurent

LAWRENCEVILLE — Imogene Opal St. Laurent, 88, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Lawrenceville Manor.

She was a member of Highway Church of God and the Church Circle.

Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Jean Parrott of Lawrenceville; a son, Freddy; a sister, Eloise Mountel of Fort Collins, Colo.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a great-great-grandchild.

Her husband, Larry, preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Sumner City cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home.

Charles Gwaltney

ELDORADO — Charles R. Gwaltney, 68, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at his home of cancer.

He was a mechanic for International Harvester.

He was a member of the Eagles and American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Alice; four daughters, Kim Brummett of Ocklawaha, Fla., Robin Gwaltney of Plant City, Fla., Tammy Gwaltney of Thonotasassa, Fla., and Charlene Wiseman of Raleigh; a sister, Leone Burgess of Flora; two brothers, Eddie Joe and Junior, both of Eldorado; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Watson Funeral Home, with burial in Elmwood cemetery in Gallatin.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Gladys Hicks

HARRISBURG — Gladys Lorene (Abney) Hicks, 92, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at her home.

Surviving are three daughters, Phyllis Gray of Sanford, and Judy Horning and Venita Tanner, both of Harrisburg; a son, Melvin of Salem; a sister, Louise Richardson of Sesser; and a brother, Cecil Abney of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Granville “Jeff, ” and two sons, Charles and Cleo.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Lawn cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Opal Wooldridge

FAIRFIELD — Opal D. Wooldridge, 75, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. She had cancer.

She had been a beautician.

Surviving are her husband, Paul; a daughter, Paula Kinney of Fairfield; a son, Keith of Allendale; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Nale’s Funeral Home, with burial in Maple Hill cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Jessie Abbott

NEW HAVEN — Jessie W. Abbott, 86, died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at White County Skilled Care Nursing Home.

She was a member of Apostolic Church in New Haven and Miracle Temple in Eldorado.

Surviving are two daughters, Anna L. Flowers and Bonnie K. Starks, both of Norris City; two sisters, Bessie Johnson of Evansville and Martha Stewart of Carmi; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Carl Abbott, in January and three sons, Carl Delbert Jr., Troy Gene and John David.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cox & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Union Ridge cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Elizabeth Questelle

HARRISBURG — Elizabeth Louise “Betty” Questelle, 73, died Monday, May 8, 2000, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale of an apparent heart attack.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Sue Ann Warren of Marion and Nancy Farrar of Mount Carmel, Ill.; three sons, Greg and Stephen, both of Harrisburg, and Randy of Eldorado; two sisters, Mary Jane Coleman of Mobile, Ala., and Dorothy Jane Patterson of Boca Raton, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Her husband, Louie, died in 1990.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Gaskins Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Lawn cemetery.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Frank Webb

FAIRFIELD — Frank O. Webb, 58, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at his home of cancer.

He was an oil field worker.

Surviving are three sons, Justin, Aaron and Shawn, all of Fairfield; a sister, Wanda McCann of Cisne; and two brothers, Carroll Webb of Forest City and Bob Dozier of Belleville.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Nale’s Funeral Home, with burial in Ebenezer cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
