Robert Henning
HARRISBURG — Robert W. Henning, 81, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
He retired from General Telephone Co. and had worked at Pankey’s Bakery.
He was a member and trustee of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church for more than 40 years and a member of Prince Hall Masonic Lodge of Illinois.
Surviving are five daughters, Parasetta “Hari” Saladin of Harrisburg and Helen Hardin, Toni and Coneous Henning and Ollie Dorsey, all of Flint, Mich.; two sisters, Ollie Johnson of Fulton, Mo., and Elizabeth Fitzpatrick of Indianapolis; a brother, Frederick of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Flenor, and by a daughter, Vivian White.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Harrisburg, with burial at a later date in Sunset Garden cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time at the church.

Gerald Butler
ROBINSON — Gerald S. Butler, 90, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at Crawford Memorial Hospital.
He worked for the United States Postal Service for 42 years as a postal inspector and district operations manager in Harrisburg, Pa.
He was a member of the Robinson First United Methodist Church, Robinson Rotary Club, Elks 1188, Silver Lakes Sunday School class and Quail Creek Country Club.
Surviving are his wife, Julia W.; a daughter, Jeanette Berty of Robinson; a son, Donald of Graham, Wash.; three grandchildren, Christopher Butler, Donna Lynn Wetherell and Scott Berty; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pulliam Funeral Home Robinson Chapel, with burial in Robinson New cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
Betty Miller
ROBINSON — Betty Jean Miller, 72, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at D. Miller Innovative Care.
Surviving are four daughters, Carolyn Otey of Owaneco, Mary Williamson and Bernice Malone, both of Robinson, and Vicky Culbertson of Oblong; six sons, Albert of Heathsville, William of Lawrenceville, Ronald, Roger and Carl, all of Robinson, and David R. of Flat Rock; four sisters, Beulah Shipman of Hardinville, Mable Eaton and Linda Kaye Zueletta, both of Duncanville, and Christine Clauss of Flat Rock; four brothers, Robert Watts of Oblong, Gerald “Goat” Watts of Palestine and Tom and Jerry Watts, both of Duncanville; 27 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Albert Sr., died in 1997.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pulliam Funeral Home Robinson Chapel, with burial in Robinson New cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Stephanie Webster
ROBINSON — Stephanie Erin “Bim” Webster, 28, of Carbondale, formerly of Robinson, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale of injuries suffered in a traffic accident Wednesday, April 26, 2000, near Carbondale.
She worked as a bartender at The Landing Supper Club in Carbondale.
She was a 1990 graduate of Robinson High School.
Surviving are her parents, Dick and Myra Correll of Robinson; a sister, Christen Sager of St. Louis; a stepsister, Judy Holt of Chesterfield, Mo.; two stepbrothers, Wes Correll of Upland, Calif., and Chuck Correll of Clayton, Wash.; her grandmother, Mary Sager; and her companion, Russ Wallace of West Virginia.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pulliam Funeral Home Robinson Chapel, with burial of cremains at a later date.
Friends may call from noon to service time at the funeral home.

ELDORADO — Rebecca Ann “Becky” Watson, 50, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
She owned and operated Miss Becky’s Day Care Center.
Surviving are her husband, Don; two daughters, Chelle Lehman of Iowa City, Iowa, and Cathy Turner of Charlotte; a son, Scott of Eldorado; two stepsons, Brian of Vienna and Mike of Hillsboro; her parents, Edward and Mary Morris of Eldorado; a sister, Kitty Martin of Lamoni; a brother, Bill Morris of Thompsonville; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Watson Funeral Home, with burial in Wolf Creek cemetery.

HARRISBURG — Phyllis J. Roark, 63, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville of heart failure.
She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Roger; two daughters, Kelly Butler of Harrisburg and Laura Flynn of Birmingham, Ala.; two sons, John of Harrisburg and Mark of Carrier Mills; a sister, Sarah Holliday of Tucson, Ariz.; three brothers, Donald Yocum of Champaign, John Yocum of Dallas and Harry Yocum Jr. of Indianapolis; and eight grandchildren.

CARMI — Jerry Gunnels, 45, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Union County Hospital in Morganfield, Ky., of heart failure.
He worked as a roughneck for J.L.N. Inc. drilling contractor.
He was a graduate of Carmi Community High School and ITT Technical Institute.
Surviving are his companion of 13 years, Pam Bassemier of Carmi; two daughter, Roxanna and Michelle Gunnels, both of Carmi; two sons, Jason Gunnels of Florida and Zachary Bassemier of Carmi; two brothers, Dallas and Donald, both of Mount Vernon, ind.; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Campbell Funeral Home Carmi Chapel, with burial in North Maple Ridge cemetery.

Beulah Howe
LAWRENCEVILLE — Beulah D. Howe, 90, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Lawrenceville Manor Nursing Center.
She had worked at 5 Sisters Sewing Factory and had been a bartender at Brooks Tavern.
She was a charter member of the Eagles.
Surviving are two daughters, Lola Holmes of rural St. Francisville and Donna Barrett of rural Sumner; two sons, Richard of Lawrenceville and William J. of rural Lawrenceville; a sister, Bonnie Haviland of Dyer, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W., in 1975, and by a son, Harold E.

Audrey Serles
THOMPSONVILLE, Ill. — Audrey Serles, 93, died Tuesday, April 18 2000, at her home.
She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Joy Boatright of Harrisburg, Eloise McCullough and June Sullivan, both of Thompsonville; two sons, Jim Serles of West Frankfort and Bob of Harrisburg; a brother, Orley Wharry of Nashville, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Barney, and a daughter, Phyllis Nailer, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia, with burial in Mount Zion cemetery.

CARMI, Ill. — Ella Fern Cummins, 71, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at her home of a heart attack. She had
worked as a seamstress at Ainsbrooke Corp. and as a kitchen worker at the Wabash Christian Retirement Center.
She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries.
Surviving are her husband, Wilburn; two sons, Roger D. and Richard L., both of Carmi; a sister, Pauline Morris of McLeansboro; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cook Funeral Chapel, with burial in Centerville cemetery.
