Richard `Dick' L. Peterson of Elgin
Funeral services for Richard `Dick' L. Peterson, 75, will be held at 10 a. m. Friday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, followed by a 10:30 a. m. Mass at St.
Thomas More Catholic Church. The Rev. Richard Russo and the Rev. Msgr. John Mitchell will officiate.
Born March 23, 1924, in Elgin, the son of Clarence W. and Karin L. Peterson, he passed away Monday, April 26, 1999, at his home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Gilberts.
Dick had graduated from Elgin High School in 1942. A veteran, he served in the Army Air Force as a B29 pilot. Dick attended General Motors Institute (Kettering University) in Flint, Mich., where he was a member of Alpha Tau Honorary Engineering Society. He was employed by Automation Associates in Arlington Heights, and previously, by Automatism in Elk Grove Village. He was also an Eagle Scout, and a member of the Big Timber Dancers and St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (nee Meagher), whom he married Oct. 27, 1945; three children, Susan (Mac) Scantlin of Barrington, Rita Brooks of Geneva and Thomas Peterson of Lexington, Ky.; five grandchildren, Amy, Jenny, Katie, Sarah and Alex; two great-grandchildren, Sara and Anna; his mother, Karin of Elgin; and his brother, Charles Peterson of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence W. Peterson and brother, Robert W. Peterson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p. m. today, with prayers recited at 7 p. m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Thomas More Catholic Church Building Fund; a charity of donor's choice; or Masses, would be appreciated.

John `Azzy' Petrusky of Waukegan
A Mass of Christian Burial for John `Azzy' Petrusky, 85, formerly ofNorth Chicago, will be held at 10 a. m. today, at St. Patrick Church (new church), Wadsworth.
Born Sept. 14, 1913, in Waukegan, he died Sunday, April 25, 1999, at at Terrace Nursing Center in Waukegan. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
A longtime resident of the area, he owned and operated Azzy's 66 Service Station at the corners of 10th and Jackson Sts. in Waukegan for 50 years. He was a former member of Mother of God Church. He participated in the semi-pro baseball league, was an avid fisherman and loved all animals, especially `ponies'.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Emily Elizabeth (nee Svete); children, Mary Frances `Missy' Daniels of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., Robert `Rob' (Georgene) Petrusky of Pleasant Prairie, Allan (Marcia) Petrusky of Waukegan and Thomas (Leigh Ann) Petrusky of Pleasant Prairie; 11 grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and sister, Millie Ogrin of Waukegan.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joan, on April 26, 1954; brothers, Charles and Joseph Petruska, and John and Albert `Mickey' Zaugra; and sisters, Bernice Pickel and Nelle Wightman.
Arrangements were made by Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, Gurnee.

Nancee L. Reckwerdt of Wauconda
A memorial service for Nancee L. Reckwerdt (nee Hironimus), 59, will be held at 10 a. m. today, at Windridge Memorial Park, 7014 S. Rawson Bridge Rd., Cary.
Born Dec. 10, 1939, in Wauconda, she died suddenly Saturday, April 24, 1999, at home. Inurnment will be in Windridge Memorial Park.
A lifelong Wauconda resident, she was a member of Transfiguration Church and Women of the Moose of Wauconda Chapter #1520, since 1995. She was a longtime member and volunteer of the auxiliary of Good Shepherd Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Roy P.; mother of Kathleen (George) Upton, Kimberly Carpenter, Lisa (Daniel) Schmidt, Lora (Peter III) Snelten and Lynda Bliss; daughter of Ethel and Clarence Hironimus; sister of Kenneth (Janice) Hironimus, Jo Ann (Mitchell) Bienkowski, Cheryl (Gary) Thompson and the late Norman; and grandmother of Nicole, Robert, Ryan, Kiersten, Luke, Adam, Jacob, Rachel, Ben, Cody and PJ.
Please omit flowers.
Memorials are appreciated to the charity of the donor's choice.

Carola A. Richter of Buffalo Grove
Services for Carola A. Richter (nee Herman), 55, will be held at 1:30 p. m. Saturday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Road (one block north of Lake-Cook Road), Buffalo Grove.
Born in Vandalia, Ill., she died unexpectedly Sunday, April 25, 1999. Interment will be private.
Mrs. Richter had been a resident of Buffalo Grove for 31 years and had worked at the Acco USA Corporation of Lincolnshire as a travel administrator for seven years.
She was the beloved wife of Edward K. Richter; loving mother of Janice L. (Steven) Salvadorini and Stephen K. (Kelly) Richter; cherished grandmother of Ken and Brandon Kujawa, Joey Salvadorini, and Jeremy and Sarah Richter; dear sister of Thomas (Cheryl) Herman, Kathy (Larry) Reno and the late Edward Herman; and dear aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.

Dorothy E. Rockar of Libertyville for 28 years
A memorial service for Dorothy E. Rockar, 77, formerly of Lake Forest, will be held at 1 p. m. Saturday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W.
Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville.
Born Nov. 8, 1921, in Chicago, she passed away Saturday, April 24, 1999, at her home.
Dorothy had been an employee of Period Homes Architectural Firm in Lake Forest. She was also a former advertising copywriter and layout artist, and had been a writer and editor for the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.
Surviving are her husband of 46 years, William Rockar; two children, Andrea Kent of Gaithersburg, Md. and Douglas Rockar of Libertyville; two grandchildren, Victoria and Edwin Kent; and her sister, Claudia Carroll.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dorothy Rockar Memorial Fund at Chicago Botanic Gardens, 1000 Lake-Cook Road, Glencoe, IL 60022.

Joan K. Roets of Batavia
Memorial services for Joan K. Roets will be held at 11 a. m. Saturday, May 22, at the Congregational Church in Batavia.
The Rev. David Foxgrover will officiate.
Born in Belleville, the daughterof Clarence and Gladius (nee Shaw) Kias, she passed away Sunday, April 25, 1999, at her home.
Joan was a member of the Batavia Womens Club and its fine arts club. She devoted a great deal of time to volunteer work. On Sept. 24, 1955, she was united in marriage to Francis Walton Roets.
She is survived by one daughter, Robin (Resse) Peek of Naperville; one stepdaughter, Patricia (James) Dorband of Skokie; three stepsons, Peter James (Heather) Roets of Encino, Calif., Robert (Eleanor) Roets of Grand Rapids, Mich.
and Myron Roets, also of Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren; one brother, Michael (Susan) Kias of Indianapolis, Ind.; and one sister, Kay (Irving) Waltman of Miami, Fla.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, Highland Square Suite G-1 222 E. State St., Rockford, IL 61104.

Dean H. Sunderman of Elgin
Private family services for Dean H. Sunderman, 76, were held at Laird Funeral Home in Elgin.
Born Dec. 27, 1922, in Bible Grove, Ill., to Orville and Vera (nee Specht) Sunderman, he died Sunday, April 25, 1999, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin, following a brief illness. Burial will be private.
A resident of Elgin for most of his life, Mr. Sunderman was a 1942 graduate of Elgin High School and had been employed by School District U-46 for 18 years before retiring. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Merchant Marines. Among his special interests, he was a member of the Kishwaukee Archers of Sycamore and was also an avid artist.
Surviving are his wife, Delores J.
Sunderman (nee Anderson), whom he married Aug. 28, 1948; sons, Terry Dean (Nancy) Sunderman of Elgin and Kevin Scott (Judy) Sunderman of Albuquerque, N. M.; grandchildren, Heather Marie and Dean Murray Sunderman, both of Albuquerque; sister, Rose Marie Walsh of St.
Charles; brothers, Louie (Christine) Sunderman of Sacramento, Calif., and Doyne (Jane) Sunderman of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or to Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin.

Beverly A. Tolli of Libertyville
A memorial Mass for Beverly A. Tolli, 54, will be celebrated at 9:30a. m. Saturday, at St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple, Libertyville.
Born May 3, 1944, in Chicago, she passed away Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at her home.
Mrs. Tolli was a 1962 graduate of Maine West High School in Des Plaines. A member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville, she served on the Guild of the Blessed Virgin Mary and participated in the church Bible study group. She was also an avid quilter as well as a member of the Auxiliary of Condell Medical Center.
Surviving are her husband, Dr. Ernest Tolli; her children, Dominic M. Tolli of Libertyville, Gene V. Tolli of Madison, Wis., and Carin E. Tolli of Libertyville; and her parents, Michael and Annabelle Gallichio of Vernon Hills.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Larsen, in 1978.
Friends of the family may call from 3 to 8 p. m. Friday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville.

Mark S. Walter of Wauconda
Services for Mark S. Walter, 40, will be held at 11 a. m. Saturday, at Federated Church of Wauconda, 200 S. Barrington Rd., Wauconda.
Born Nov. 28, 1958, in Atlanta, Ga., he died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. Burial will be private.
A 29-year resident of Wauconda, hewas a 1976 graduate of Wauconda High School. He received his associate's degree in accounting from College of Lake County. He was a member of the church.
Preceded in death by his parents, Verlene and J. William Walter, he is survived by his brothers, John William Jr.
(Linda), James Sidney and Matthew Lee (Laurie); grandmother, Osia Mae Stone; nephews, Steven Grant, Christopher John and Lucas Carl; and cousins, Debra Williams and Lindy Head.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p. m. Friday, at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, and from 10:30 a. m. until the time of the services Saturday, at the church.
