CARMI — Mildred C. Foster, 76, died of heart failure Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Lake Shore Rehabilitation Transitional Living Facility in Homewood, Ala.
She had worked at Consumers Gas Co., White County Abstract and the White County Clerk’s Office.
She was a graduate of Draughn’s Business College in Oklahoma City.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Lynn Wilkerson of Adamsville, Ala., and Delena Foster of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Leona McCray of Spring, Texas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Jack William, died in 1996.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Campbell Funeral Home, with burial in White County Memorial Garden.

Arthur Rhinehart
ST. FRANCISVILLE — Arthur H. Rhinehart, 86, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at his home.
He was a former Denison Township road commissioner and had been an oil field laborer.
He was a Mason.
Surviving are two daughters, Kay E. Doersam of Sumner and and Karen S. LeGrand of St. Francisville; a son, Larry G. of Greenwood, Ind.; two sisters, Elizabeth Moore of Evansville and Violet Clark of Lawrenceville; a brother, Randolph of Sumner; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, L. Maxine (Harris).
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cunningham Nichols Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Lawn cemetery.

Evelyn Behymer
CLAY CITY — Evelyn Behymer, 91, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Lakeland Healthcare in Effingham.
She was a member of Zif Christian Church and Eastern Star.
Surviving are three daughters, Ann Shaffer of Effingham, Louise Moseley of Eldorado and Jane Hancock of Clay City; a sister, Edith Tetrick of Cisne; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Victor. K., died in 1990.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hosselton Funeral Home, with burial in Cisne cemetery.

Lorene Mann
SHAWNEETOWN — Lorene Mann, 89, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Ridgway Manor Nursing Home.
Surviving are three sisters, Winnie Chamberlain and Lydia Oxford, both of Shawneetown and Martha Kelly of Alton.
Her husband, Clem W., died in 1997.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Vickery Funeral Chapel, with burial in Westwood cemetery.

Dorothy Morris
LAWRENCEVILLE — Dorothy E. Morris, 92, formerly of Lawrenceville, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center in Charleston.
She had been a piano teacher and organist at First United Methodist Church for 60 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Alice Jayne Swickard of Charleston; two grandchildren, Laura Worrall and the Rev. Robert Swickard; and four great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Robert N., died in 1992.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Smith Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, with burial in Lawrenceville cemetery.

Patricia Riggs
MOUNT CARMEL — Patricia Louise Riggs, 85, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Wabash General Hospital.
She had worked at Wabash General Hospital for 20 years.
She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Evansville.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and attended St. Sebastian Church and Alder Road Church of Christ.
Surviving are a daughter, Dolores “Suzie” Kennard of Mount Carmel; a son, Joseph M. of Charlotte, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Shelley and Joseph Riggs, Jessica Riggs Davis, Dan and Brett Kennard, Nickie Osborne, Kim Thompson and Denia Worley; 10 great-grandchildren; and her companion, Henry “Hank” Payne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin Shelburn, and a son, Jim.
The body is being donated to medical science, according to her wishes.
There will be no services or visitation at Short Funeral Home.

Lorene Brooks
HARRISBURG — Lorene Brooks, 87, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
She was a member of Saline Ridge Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Carla N. Reed of Harrisburg; a brother, George Gott of Galatia; and a granddaughter, Brianna Reed.
Her husband, Wymand W. “Jack, ” died on June 9, 2000.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Reed Funeral Chapel, with burial in Lindale cemetery in Eldorado.

CARMI — Paul W. James, 40, died of a heart attack Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at the White County Medical Center emergency room.
He worked at Trelleborg as a rubber molder.
Surviving are his wife, Angela (Parker); a daughter, Eva James of Carmi; four sons, Paul Jr., Timothy, Joseph and Zach, all of Carmi; his parents, Claude and Betty (Grant) James of Cecor; a sister, Claudine Griffin of Carmi; two brothers, Alfred of El Paso, Ill., and Eddie of Robinson; and a granddaughter, Allison Marie Shelby.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cook Funeral Home in Carmi, with burial in North Maple Ridge cemetery.

GRAYVILLE — Lula A. Wheatley, 91, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at Oakview Heights Continuous Care in Mount Carmel.
She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Surviving are two daughters, Etta Medford of Brinkley, Ark., and Cora Beth Bryant of Villa Rica, Ga.; a son, George of Las Vegas; four sisters, Audrey McKay of Carmi, Agnes Hawkins of Grayville, Zella Woods of Albion and Bessie Gates of Siloam Springs, Ark.; 20 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Pearl Farris
McLEANSBORO — Pearl A. Farris, 91, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital.
She retired as the cook at the Flannigan Grade School in Hamilton County.
She was a member of the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Sara I. Yoder of Clear Lake Oaks, Calif., and Elsie Reed of New Berlin; a grandson, Stephen Farris; and two great-grandchildren.
Her husband, George, died in 1975.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Gholson Funeral Home, with burial in Enfield cemetery.
