Donald C. Osborne of St. Charles
Graveside services for Donald C. Osborne, 73, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Union Cemetery, St. Charles, with the Rev. Philip M. Dripps officiating.
Born June 13, 1925, in St. Charles, he died Monday, March 1, 1999, at Provena Geneva Care Center.
Mr. Osborne was a Master Mason of MasonicLodge Batavia #404, AF & AM. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau and the Pure Milk Association.
He is survived by a sister, Lois (James) McLaughlin of St. Charles; nephews, Rodney (Laura) Osborne and Robert (Janet) McLaughlin, both of St. Charels; nieces, Donna (David) Town of Elburn and Diane (Mark) Duncan of St. Charles; and two grandnephews, Ryan and Daniel Duncan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Osborne, in 1951; an infant sister, Alice; and a loving companion, Bo Duke.
There will not be a visitation.

George E. Payne, 78, of Lombard, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999. Arrangements were made by Brust Funeral Home, Lombard, (630) 629-0094.

Gertrude I. Peregrin formerly of Naperville
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gertrude I. Peregrin (nee Lulinski), 76, a resident of South Bend, Ind. since July of 1998, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 115 Modaff Road, Naperville.
Born March 11, 1922, in Chicago, she died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999,at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, Wheaton.
Mrs. Peregrin was a retired executive secretary for Union Carbide in Chicago and a member of St. Raphael Church in Naperville.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa J. (John) Kovach of South Bend; granddaughters, Emily, Marina and Irina Kovach ofSouth Bend; sister, Loretta Blacerzak; and brother, Al Lulinski, both of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Peregrin, in 1993.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass Thursday, at the church.
Memorials in Mrs. Peregrin's name may be made to St. Monica's Catholic Church, 214 W. Mishawaka Ave., Mishawaka, IN 46545; or the Mental Health Association of St. Joseph County, 211 W. Madison, South Bend, IN 46601.

Elaine Barbiere Pierce of Mount Prospect
Prayers for Elaine Barbiere Pierce, 83, will be held at 9:15a.m. Wednesday, at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Road, Mount Prospect, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Alphonsus Church, Prospect Heights.
Born July 25, 1915, in Weymouth, Mass., she died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at The Moorings of Arlington Heights. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.
Mrs. Pierce was employed as a secretary.
She was the wife of the late Robert T. Pierce; aunt of Thomas, Philip J. (Belinda) and Gerard (Jeanne) Wehrheim, Pamela W. (Daniel) Detzner, Patricia (Joseph) Martin and Wayne (Jackie) and Ralph (the late Julia) Tite; aunt of many grandnieces and grandnephews; and sister of the late Caroline Tite, Louis, Daniel and Ralph (Helen) Barbiere and Phyllis Wehrheim.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Jane G. Stikkers of Arlington Heights
Services for Jane G. Stikkers (nee Sanders), 85, formerly of Glenview, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Mount Emblem Cemetery chapel, Grand Ave. and County Line Rd., Elmhurst. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
Born May 15, 1913, in Chicago, she passed away Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at ManorCare of Arlington Heights. Burial will be in Mount Emblem Cemetery.
A homemaker, she was the beloved wife of John William `Bill'; loving mother of Nancy (Ron) Foellmer, Connie (John) Craig and Ken (Mary Palm) Stikkers; cherished grandmother of Mark (Becky) and Joe (Cindy) Foellmer, Jean (Perry) Lynch, John (Carol) and Kathleen Craig, and Emily and Sarah Palm-Stikkers; dearest grandmother of Michael and Brock Foellmer and Amanda Lynch; dear sister of Muriel (John) Coumbe and the late Mildred Sanders.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday, at the cemetery chapel.

Mae Vehe of Barrington
Services for Mae Vehe (nee Brandt), 90, a lifelong resident of Barrington, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Stirlen-Pieper & Davenport Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-CookRd.), Barrington. Reverend Joseph Dye will officiate.
Born Sept. 10, 1908, in Barrington, she passed away Saturday,Feb. 27, 1999, at Governors Park Nursing Home in Barrington. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
Mae was a homemaker and an active member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Lake Zurich. She worked on the farm with her husband, Edwin and sold eggs for many years.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Blanche Brandt of Barrington; and nieces and nephews, Audrey (Robert) Knigge of Palatine, Robert (Janet) Meyer of Barrington, Karen (James) Smith of Palatine, Glen Brandt of Florida, Annette (Raymond) Grinelle of Wisconsin, Susan Barnett of New Jersey, Jane (Benjamin) VanBlake of Barrington, David (Oliva) Brandt of Colorado, Saranne Polumbo of Arizona, Kathy (Ronald) Brandt of Colorado, Diddy Salnick of Pennsylvania and Ann (Marvin) Hoskinson of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Vehe, whom she married on Dec. 8, 1939, in Clinton, Iowa; sister, Grace Meyer; brothers, Raymond, James and Henry Brandt; and niece, Janet McDonald.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Harold R. Whaley of Bolingbrook since 1990
Services and interment for Harold R. Whaley, 71, formerly of Pekin and Charleston, Ill., will be private.
Born Aug. 8, 1927, in Collinsville, Ill., he died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at ManorCare Health Services in Hinsdale.
Mr. Whaley was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Cecilia Whaley of Bolingbrook; daughters, Theresa Ainsworth of Naperville and Kathleen (James) Kucera of Darien; sons, Ronald (Kathy) Whaley of Libertyville and Michael (Ann) Whaley of Naperville; seven grandchildren; sisters, Helen Kornegger of California and Bernice Westlake of California; and brother, Raymond Whaley of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Cora Whaley, sister, Opal Johnson, and two grandchildren.

Dorothy M. Bloss of Elmhurst
Funeral services for Dorothy M. Bloss, (nee Harz), 86, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Adams-Winterfield and Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main St. in Downers Grove.
Born July 13, 1912, Mrs. Bloss died Sunday, February 28, 1999, at Elmhurst Hospital. Entombment will be in Acacia Park Mausoleum.
A homemaker, she was beloved wife of the late Edmund; devoted daughter of the late Rev. Theodore Sears and Emma (nee Froenke); and dear aunt of many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services Thursday, at the funeral home.

William E. Chase Sr. of Schaumburg
Visitation for William E. Chase Sr., 58, of Schaumburg, formerly of Grand Rapids, Mich., will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Road), Streamwood/Schaumburg. Visitation will also be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Barto Funeral Home, 1401 Quarry Ave. NW, in Grand Rapids, where services will take place on Saturday.
Born Feb. 9, 1941, in Grand Rapids, he passed away Tuesday, March 2, 1999. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Grand Rapids, following the services.
Mr. Chase devoted his time to the children at W. A. C. O., a volunteer agency for children.
He leaves his children, William (Laura) Chase Jr., Cassie Fontana, Sherrie Chase and Robert Chase; brother, Stan (Harriet) Chase; sister, Bernice (Joseph) Krulek; special friend, Sharron Stidham; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Bernice Chase; and brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Joyce Yancharas.
Memorials may be given to W. A. C. O. in Mr. Chase's name.

Robert L. Darrow III of Wheaton
A funeral Mass for Robert L. Darrow III, 77, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Michael Church, 315 W. Illinois St., Wheaton. Family and friends will please meet at the church.
Born Sept. 17, 1921, in Chicago, he died Monday, March 1, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Interment will be private.
Mr. Darrow was a lithographer and had a patent on color separation and retired in 1987 from the printing industry. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Darrah); loving father of Robert L. IV (Linda) Darrow, Debbie Darrow, Vicki Darrow MD (James McQuade MD) and Rob-Roy (Cindy) Darrow; dear grandfather of Thad, Heather, Heidi, Miriam and Amanda; and fond brother of Donald Darrow and Myra Davis.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd. (one block east of Naperville Rd.), Wheaton.
