James Watkins

GRAYVILLE — James M. “Jim” Watkins, 76, died of heart failure Saturday, March 31, 2001, at his home.

He had been a welder.

He was an Army Air Corps veteran and member of American Legion Post 696.

Surviving are his wife, Emogene (Musgrave); three daughters, Jewell Higginson of Mount Carmel, Frances Akers of Round Lake Beach and Onie Hurt of San Antonio, Texas; five stepdaughters, Betty Dardeen of Mount Carmel, Jo Ann Noble of Waynesburg, Ohio, Shirley Gully of Dexter, Mo., and Nancy Blessing and Aline West, both of Fairfield; three sons, Jimmie Ray of Malvern, Ohio, James M. of Mount Carmel and Donald W. of Grayville; a stepson, Sam Williams of Fairfield; 27 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sturm Funeral Home Grayville Chapel, with burial in Oak Grove cemetery, with military rites.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ada Tudor

LAWRENCEVILLE — Ada M. Tudor, 85, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Ind.

She attended Temple Baptist Church in Scottsburg.

Surviving are a daughter, Wanda Frankenberger of Austin, Ind.; three sons, James of Jacksonville, Fla., Ronald of Montgomery, La., and Donald of Elkville; a sister, Bobby Griffin of Lawrenceville; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Scottsburg, with graveside services at 3 p.m. Monday at Cedar Grove (Ky.) cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Charles Stephan Sr.

CARMI — Charles R. Stephan Sr., 65, formerly of Carmi, died of cancer Friday, March 30, 2001, at Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport, Ky.

He was a salesman and owned his own company.

Surviving are a daughter, Carol Bottonari of Crescent Springs, Ky.; a son, Charles R. Jr. of Strongsville, Ohio; and two brothers, Norman of St. Charles, Mo., and Roy of Riverview, Fla.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Kittinger-Fair Funeral Home Carmi Chapel, with burial in White County Memorial Garden cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Blanche Craig

CARRIER MILLS — Blanche Craig, 101, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

She was a member of Carrier Mills Baber Chapel AME Church.

Surviving are two sons, Jeweus of Charlotte, N. C., and Vance of Carrier Mills; six grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd James; and a son, Floyd James Jr.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Felty Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Hill cemetery in Harrisburg.

Friends may call from noon to service time at the funeral home.

Reba Rothrock

ROBINSON — Reba E. (Cox) Guyer Rothrock, 89, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Crawford Memorial Hospital following an apparent heart attack.

She worked at L.S. Heath & Sons as a quality control lab technician.

She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors of America, Women of the Moose and a 50-year member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Olaf Rothrock; a daughter, Joene Gwin of Marietta, Ga.; a stepson, Kent of Naperville; eight grandchildren, Kerry and Kelly Murphy, Matthew and Robert Gwin, Susan Ruch, Elizabeth Lanzone, and Kathy Quagliano; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Manford Guyer; a daughter, Virginia White; and her twin sister, Ruba Ralston.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pulliam Funeral Home, with burial in Robinson New cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cotillion Ridge Retirement Center, Residents’ Activity Fund.

Norma Shoaf

GEFF — Norma W. Shoaf, 75, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville of cardiac and respiratory failure.

She was Christian.

Surviving are her husband, Wilbur; a stepdaughter, Mary Woodrich of Kankakee; a son, Randal Dean of Fairfield; a stepson, Wilbur Lee of Robinson; three sisters, Mary L. Smith of Albion, Marlene Blake and Sandra K., both of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Duane Wiles of Evansville, Paul Wiles of Little Rock, Ark., and Col. Carl Wiles of Hampton, Va.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are pending. There will be no visitation at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.

Phyllis Yates

HARRISBURG — Phyllis Catherine Yates, 82, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

She was a member of Harrisburg First Presbyterian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and Rebekah Lodge.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Harry; a daughter, Guylene Pait of Harrisburg; a son, Larry of Harrisburg; two brothers, Charles Wilson of Tampa, Fla., and Frank Wilson of Port Charlotte, Fla.; four grandchildren, Danae Fuller, Robin Rivers, Mary “Marnie” Dixon and Larry “Bud” Yates; great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gaskins Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Lawn cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jack Ginther

FAIRFIELD — Jack Ginther, 74, of Elkton, Fla., died Wednesday March 28, 2001 at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Fla., of cancer.

He was a steel worker and a World War II veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Marlene (Jones); a son, Mike of Orange Park, Fla.; two brothers, Keith of Bone Gap and Bill of Chicago; and a grandson, Chris Ginther.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Nale’s Funeral Home, with burial in Bethel cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time.

Wanda Rabourn

CAVE IN ROCK — Wanda L. Rabourn, 67, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at her home from heart failure.

Surviving are her husband, Cecil Rabourn; two sons, James D. Rodgers of Waterloo, Iowa, and Jeffrey of Naperville; her mother, Lula Shore of Rosiclare; two sisters, Magueriete Lampert of Elizabethtown, and Oma Simmons of Cave In Rock; three brothers, Randall Shore of Rosiclare, Marvin Shore of Evansville, Ind., and Lowell Shore of Sparta; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 2, at Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home in Cave In Rock, with burial in Mount Zion cemetery.

Friends may call 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Zion cemetery Fund or St. Mary’s Oncology Department in Kankakee.

Garcia Ingram

CROSSVILLE — Garcia E. Ingram, 85, died Sunday, March 25, 2001 at New Harmonie Healthcare Center in New Harmony, Ind.

He was a former member of the Crossville Rotary Club nd had served on the Town Board.

He attended Crossville United Methodist Church and was a member of Sheba Lodge.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Methel “Peach” (Bryan); two sons, Larry David of Rockville, Md., and Edward Dean of Chalfont, Pa.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home Crossville Chapel, with graveside services at 1 p.m. in Cave Hill cemetery in Cave in Rock.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

June Taylor

MOUNT CARMEL — June I. Taylor, 68, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Wabash General Hospital of cancer.

She worked at the American Legion post and attended Disciples of Christ First Christian Church.

Surviving are her husband, David; a stepdaughter, Dawn Ella Cleveland of Cleveland; a son, Davy; two brothers, William H. Schafer of Bellmont and George E. Schafer of Mount Carmel; a niece whom she raised, Kathie Schafer Hill; and two grandchildren, Beau and McKenzie “Sis” Taylor.

There will be no visitation or services at Cunningham Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

Donald ‘Crow’ Milligan

HARRISBURG — Donald Ray “Crow” Milligan, 60, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Harrisburg Medical Center of pneumonia.

He worked for Smith Packing Co., Dairy Brand, Coca-Cola Bottling Co. and as a security guard.

Surviving are his wife, Sandy (Roberts); a daughter, Kim; a son, Darin of Uniontown, Ky.; two sisters, Sharon Randolph and Carolyn Sue Boyd, both of Harrisburg; a brother, Dennis of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Whitnee and Weston Grimes and Krissy Milligan; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kris Milligan.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Reed Funeral Chapel, with burial in Saline Ridge cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
