RIDGWAY — Barbara L. Wittlich, 62, died of complications of lung cancer Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Abbey Nursing Center in Carbondale, Ill.
Surviving are a daughter, Dr. Kristi Wittlich of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Bettie Lemons of Hot Springs, Ark., and Joyce Fligor of Carbondale; and a grandson, Paul Wittlich.
A son, Marvin Kent Wittlich, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cox & Son Funeral Home Ridgway Chapel, with burial in Leamington cemetery. Friends may call from noon to service time.

Mildred Stum
ROSICLARE — Mildred Stum, 87, died of kidney failure Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Hardin County General Hospital.
She had been a stenographer and was a member of Hardin County Church of Christ.
Surviving are her husband, Clarence; a stepson, Mark “Bobbi” of Maple Shade, N.J.; a brother, Garrett Kerr of Rosiclare; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hosick Funeral Home, with burial in Fluorine cemetery.

Raymond Ritcheson
McLEANSBORO — Raymond W. Ritcheson, 76, died of a heart attack Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
He was a locomotive engineer for the Burlington Northern Railroad in Cicero.
He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 106.
He attended the Church of God.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; three daughters, Carol Sander of Russelville, Ark., Sharon Rae Birr of Wheaton and Mary Lou Gabriel of Lockport; four sons, Raymond of Minooka, Daniel of Jamesville, Wis., the Rev. John of McLeansboro and Thomas of New Port Richey, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Rosemary D’Ambrosia in 1994 and Ruby Kennedy in 1997; two daughters, Frances and Rosemary Henning; and a son.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gholson Funeral Home, with burial in Maple Ridge cemetery in Carmi.

McLEANSBORO — Leland E. Spradlin, 55, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital of cancer.
He retired from the Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Morton as a forklift driver.
He was a member of Tremont Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine R.; two daughters, Catherine Shelton of Dahlgren and Nancy Walker of McLeansboro; his mother, Kathleen Spradlin of Nicholasville, Ky.; two sisters, Catherine “Dolly” Tartaglia of Jamaica, N.Y., and Jackquelin “Susie” Stinnett of Nicholasville; a brother, Marshall “Riggs” of Nicholasville; and four grandchildren, Lukas Shelton and Mariah, Abbey and Mason Walker.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Gholson Funeral Home, with burial in Richardson Hill cemetery.

McLEANSBORO — Marjorie L. Wilson, 71, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at her home of a heart attack.
She had worked at McLeansboro Healthcare Center from 1986 to 1989.
She was Protestant.
Surviving are a daughter, Becky Ellison of Olney; three sons, Lenny and Jimmy, both of McLeansboro, and Sherman T. of Livingston, Texas; a brother, Charles Enlow of Alton; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W., in 1992 and an adopted son, Gerald “Butch” Minder.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Gholson Funeral Home, with burial in Hickory Hill cemetery in Broughton.

Scott Morgan
HARRISBURG — Scott F. Morgan, 43, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at the Harrisburgh Medical Center of cancer.
He was a chef.
Surviving are two sisters, Barbara Christy of New Castle, Okla., and Diane Halverson of Harrisburg; and a brother, James Douglas of Ozone, Ark.
Memorial service 6 p.m. today at Reed Funeral Chapel, the body will be cremated. There will be no visitation.
Kathryn Williams
ELDORADO — Kathryn Williams, 96, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, in Freeport.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and former member of Eastern Star.
Surviving are a son, Carl of Lima, Ohio; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Stanley, and a daughter, Mary Hilder, preceded her in death.

CARMI — Jerry Foley, 66, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at his home of cancer.
He worked as a servicemen for Sears for 30 years.
He was a member of Stewart Street Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Jo Ann (Martin); a daughter, Jana Land of Atlanta, Ga.; a son, Jerry of Midland, Texas; his mother, Ruby Foley of Springerton; a sister, Dixie Fahs of Springfield; two brothers, Kenneth of Fairfield and Max of Newburgh, Ind.; and three grandchildren, Ian and Megan Land and Cullen Foley.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Campbell Funeral Home, with burial in Kitty Sweeten cemetery in Springerton.

SUMNER — David F. “Sonny” Pauley, 64, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind., of cancer.
He retired in January 2000, after farming for more than 50 years.
He was a member of Chauncey United Methodist Church, charter member of Chauncey Ruritan Club and Crawford County Farm Bureau and participated in the 2000 Relay for Life.
Surviving are his wife, Jenny (Piper); two daughters, Debi Phillips Brown of Evansville and Sheri Phillips Lafferty of Vincennes; his mother, Edna Lucille Baker of Chauncy; and six grandchildren, Derek and Tara Morgan, Chaney Lafferty and Ryan, Evan and Cameron Brown.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home, with burial in Waggoner West cemetery in Chauncey.

WEST SALEM — Mary Cova Myers, 90, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.
She operated a restaurant in West Salem for more than 20 years.
She was a member of Long Prairie Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Merrill of West Salem and Donald of California; a sister, Irene Stremme; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morley Lavene Myers, a daughter, Iva Lorene Keyser and a son, John Chester.

He was a semiretired truck driver and member of Bone Gap Fellowship.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis (Dean); two sons, Thomas Taugaw of Mount Carmel and Mark Stewart of Carbondale; a sister, Janice Bobbit of Mount Carmel and a brother, Paul of Huntsville, Ala.

SHAWNEETOWN — Wilma R. “Toots” Walker, 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, in Harrisburg Medical Center.
She retired from the cabinet factory in Shawneetown.
Surviving are a sister, Elsie Brooks of Shawneetown; and a niece. Her husband, Jim, preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Westwood cemetery. Cox & Son Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

ELDORADO — Violet Deloris Barker, 66, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Ferrell Hospital of heart failure.
Surviving are three daughters, Rebecca Barker, Mary Moles and Elizabeth Pittman, all of Eldorado; four sons, Charles of Eldorado, Joseph of Florida, Paul of Woodlawn and Ron of Mount Vernon; a brother, Charles E. Miller of Mount Vernon; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Two children preceded her in death.
