Tony P. Olesky
Prayers for Tony P. Olesky, 85, will be said at 9 a.m. Monday, at Malec and Sons Funeral Home, 6000 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago. Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Tarcissus Church.
Born Aug. 8, 1913, in Lincoln, Ill., he died Thursday, March 11, 1999, at Resurrection Medical Center. Burial will be in Maryhill Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Marge Gurieri Olesky; sons, James (Kathi) and Richard (Jan); daughter, Jean Walsh; brother, Joe Olesky; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Tarcissus Church TLC Fund.

Elaine D. Ostrom of Arlington Heights
Services for Elaine D. Ostrom (nee Reinlie), 83, formerly of Prospect Heights, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Prospect Heights Community Church, 400 N. Elmhurst Rd., Prospect Heights, IL 60070.
Born May 26, 1915, in Chicago, she died Friday, March 12, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery.
For 15 years she headed up `The Stitchers' at Prospect Heights Community Church.
She was the wife of the late Marol J. Ostrom; sister of the late Howard (Elaine) Reinlie; fond aunt of many; and sister-in-law of Elvira Rill.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday, at the church.
Memorials may be made to the church (address listed above).
Arrangements were made by Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral Home, Arlington Heights.

John Joseph Petravicz, 89, of Lombard, died Friday, March 12, 1999. Arrangements were made by Knollcrest Funeral Home, Lombard, (630) 932-1500.

Grace Ann Louise Pieper
Services for Grace Ann Louise Pieper (nee Heintz), 87, most recently of Walworth, Wis., will be held at 5 p.m. today, at Saunders and McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard.
Born in Downers Grove on Oct. 23, 1911, she passed away Thursday, March 11, 1999. Private interment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Mrs. Pieper worked for Weber Marking Systems in Mount Prospect for more than 15 years.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Margee) of Harvard; daughter, Edie (Phillip) Cass of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Pam Higgenbotham, Jean Murphy, Megan Pieper and Madeline Pieper; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Taylor Murphy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, whom she married June 4, 1938, in Riverside, Ill. and who passed away June 15, 1960; one sister; and one brother.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the services today, at the funeral home.

Alva R. Roeske of Arlington Heights
Private family services will be held for Alva R. Roeske, 82.
Born Feb. 13, 1917, in Chicago Heights, Ill., Mr. Roeske passed away Thursday, March 11, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare.
Employed for 50 years as an electrical engineer, he was a graduate of Lewis Institute and member of Arlington Heights Society of Modeling Engineers.
He was the husband of the late Winifred M.; father of Rodman (Bobbi) Roeske and Diane Roeske; and grandfather of Holly and Dana Roeske.
Arrangements were made by G. L. Hills Funeral Home, Des Plaines.

Louis Sandvick of Wheeling
Memorial services for Louis Sandvick, 92, formerly of Arlington Heights, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows. A second memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Lexington Health Care Center, 730 W. Hintz Road, Wheeling.
Born Jan. 25, 1907, in Wisconsin, he died Thursday, March 11, 1999, at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Sandvick was a retired barber with 50 years of service. He had worked at the Palmer House and also at Neumann Barber Shop in Arlington Heights.
He was the husband of Alice (nee Warfield); father of Betty (Richard) Dorn and the late Richard Noyes; brother of Ida Mack; grandfather of six; great-grandfather of17; and great-great-grandfather of four.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

George A. Saunders III of Elk Grove Village
Services for George A. Saunders III, 82, will be held at 8 p.m. today, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road (three blocks south of Biesterfield Road), Elk Grove Village.
Born in Chicago, he died Friday, March 12, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Hospice House, Elk Grove Village. Interment will be in Dundee Township Cemetery.
Mr. Saunders was a former resident of Chicago and had worked as a machinist for the City of Chicago for 20 years prior to his retirement. He was a Gold Member of the AFL-CIO machinists local and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors his daughter, Mary A. (David) Buttitta-Holtman; grandchildren, Tina (Alan) McWethy, Laura (Randy) Russow, George Saunders V and Diane Buttitta (fiance, ChrisGrannis); and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving friend, Cecelia M. Piejda.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Mae Saunders (nee Brooks) in 1995; son, George A. Saunders IV; and sister, Mabel Larsen.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, with services at 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Memorials made to Vitas Hospice would be appreciated.

Mary E. Stoneski (nee Gernenz), 70, died Friday, March 12, 1999. Arrangements were made by Ahlgrim and SonsFuneral Home, Schaumburg, (847) 882-5580.

John Yates, 90, of Elgin, died Saturday, March 13, 1999. Arrangements were made by Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, (847) 741-8800.

Michael Zugin of Algonquin
Michael Zugin, 49, passed away Friday, March 12, 1999, at Sherman Hospital. He was born Oct. 27, 1949, in Chicago, the son of Gilbert and Dorothy Gillespie Zugin.
He was a filmmaker, artist and poet. He was owner of Zugin Merchandising.
Survivors include his wife, Carol (nee Redmer) Zugin of Algonquin; sons, Zachary and Devan of Algonquin; granddaughter, Paige of Algonquin; brother, Patrick of Algonquin; sisters, Kathy (Jeff) Smith of Algonquin, Terri (John) Nelles of Elgin, Lisa (Tristan) Gallagher of Madison, Wis. and Wendy Zugin of Houston, Texas; his parents of Mount Vernon, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no services.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements were made by Madison Funeral Home, Elgin.

Evelyn J. York Tarrant passed away Monday, March 8, 1999, and was laid to rest at St. Clements Catholic Church in McLeansboro, Ill., on Thursday, March 11.

Augusta J. Thoennes of Chicago
A funeral Mass for Augusta J. Thoennes (nee Schoenberger), 90, will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Immaculate Conception Church.
Born Feb. 24, 1909, in Chicago, she died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at Resurrection Nursing Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove.
Mrs. Thoennes was a homemaker and also volunteered her time in many capacities. She was a life member of the Resurrection Hospital Women's Auxiliary, a former director of the volunteers at Resurrection Hospital, and a member of the CCW.
She was the wife of the late Dr. Lawrence Thoennes; loving mother of Sr. Virginia Thoennes, S. L. W. of Arlington Heights, Richard Thoennes of South Carolina, Charles (Carol) Thoennes of California, Martha (Ron) Eicker of Park Ridge, Mary (Frederic) Welk of Chicago and the late Lorraine Thoennes; dear grandmother of 27; and great-grandmother of 17. She was also the fond sister of the late Mary, John, Frances and Peter; and aunt of John Schoenberger Jr., Marie Moore, Marie Mason, Marguerite Daum, Rudy Huck and Edward Doutlick, and the late Francis Huck.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Kolbus Funeral Home, 6841-57 W. Higgins, Chicago.
Memorials may be made to the Sisters of the Living Word Ministry Fund, 800 N. Fernandez Ave., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.

Daniel R. Bolek of Addison
Prayers for Daniel R. Bolek, will be said at 9 a.m. Tuesday, at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Rd. ), Roselle. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
He was the loving son of Walter and Loretta Bolek; dear brother of Don (Linda) and Dean Bolek; and dear uncle of Brittany and Donny Bolek.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral chapel.

William R. Brodtke of Arlington Heights
Services for William R. Brodtke, 75, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.
Born Aug. 1, 1923, in Chicago, he died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Brodtke had been employed by Zenith Radioand Television for 35 years.
He retired on Sept. 30, 1986. A veteran of the Marines, Mr. Brodtke served during World War II between Jan. 5, 1943 and Dec. 13, 1945. He served in the Illinois Militia prior to entering into active service.
He was the husband of Ruth (nee Hermanson), whom he married Oct. 27, 1956; dearest father of Judy (Richard) Reussow of Greeley, Colo. and the late Wayne Allen Brodtke; dear grandfather of Richie, Cindy and Rob; great-grandfather of Nikki, Ryan, Vince and Bradly; and fond brother of Josephine Briarton of Carpentersville and the late Delbert Noffke.
Visitation will be from 3 p. m until the time of services, Tuesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.
