Bonita A. `Bonnie' Roby of Arlington Heights
Services for Bonita A. `Bonnie' Roby (nee Pawlek), 74, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights, where she willlie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. The Rev. Karl W. Schmidt will officiate.
Born June 24, 1924, in Oak Park, she died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Mrs. Roby had been employed as a secretary for the Canteen Corporation for more than 25 years until she retired in 1977. She was an active participant and volunteer at St. Peter Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, George H. Roby, whom she married Nov. 26, 1977; stepchildren, Arlene Lyons, George E. (Carol) Roby, Robert G. (Monica) Roby and Kevin J. (Jean) Roby; stepgrandchildren, Angela Dabbs, Rebecca Lyons, and Timothy, David and Elizabeth Roby; nieces, Susan (Ernest) Lassie and Judy (Steven) Unterfranz; great-nephews, Steven and Toby; and sister-in-law, Irene Pawlek.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Orville Pawlek.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Paulette R. Roth formerly of Elgin
Memorial services for Paulette R. Roth, 51, most recently of Las Vegas, Nev., will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Laurence Catholic Church, Elgin, with the Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating.
Born March 18, 1947, the daughter of Paul and Lorraine (nee Goy) Allemann, she passed away Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at her home. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Roth had lived in Elgin for her entire life before moving to Las Vegas a few years ago. She had owned and operated the Best in Hair Salon in West Dundee for a number of years, then moved to working for Better Living for Seniors.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Roth; sons, Donald (Michelle) Thrun of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Daniel and Timothy Thrun of Ingleside; daughter, Michelle (Dennis) Wille of Pond Creek, Okla.; stepsons, Steve (Tracey) Roth of Aurora and Jeff Roth of Vernon Hills; brother, Fredrick (Margaret) Garner of Elgin; sisters, Margaret (Don) Hutton of St. Charles, Edna (David) Mohl of Elgin and Anna Erdman of Elgin; nine grandchildren, Michael, Jacquline, Jimmy, Jesse, Joey, Kyle, Andrea, Stephen and Alana; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; a son in infancy; a grandson, Harlan, in infancy; a daughterin-law, Michiko; and aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin.

Dolores I. `Sis' Rutzen of Des Plaines
A funeral Mass for Dolores I. `Sis' Rutzen, 66, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Mary Church, Des Plaines.
Born Dec. 31, 1932, she died Monday, March 15, 1999, at Holy Family Hospital.
Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.
Retired, she had been employed in public relations for Zenith and was a member of Des Plaines Elks Lodge #1526.
She was the wife of the late Aller Sr.; mother of Allen (Debra) Rutzen, Irene (Dan) Balogh and Melanie (Marty) Mabrey; sister of Bob (Donna) Butler and Rosemary Warnicke; and loving ganny of Jeffrey, Elizabeth, Melissa, Megan, Danny, Matthew and Martin James.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Society.

Jeffrey H. Schmidt of Batavia
Funeral services for Jeffrey H. Schmidt will be held at 11 a.m. today, at Yurs Peterson Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia. Pastor Chris Nilges and the Rev. Richard Watts will officiate.
Born April 17, 1954, to Arthur H. and Francis (nee Nelson) Schmidt, he passed away Saturday morning, March 13, 1999, at his home in Batavia. Interment will be in West Batavia Cemetery.
Jeffrey was a 1972 graduate of Batavia High School and was employed by Amstedt's Finer Foods in Batavia.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Schmidt and son, Wesley Schmidt, both of Aurora; brothers, Jack (Diane) Schmidt of Geneva and Jay (Gina) Schmidt of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Judy (Dale) Osland; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Shawn Osland.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services today, at the funeral home.

G. Edward Shearhod of Hoffman Estates
Services for G. Edward Shearhod, 89, will be held at 6:30 p.m. today, at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Road), Streamwood/Schaumburg.
Born Oct. 15, 1909, in St. Louis, Mo., he died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Hoffman Estates.
He was the beloved husband of Maxine Shearhod (nee Brumleve); loving father of Greg (Mary) Shearhod of Orlando, Fla.; proud grandfather of Jaclyn, Jesica, Gregory Jr. and John; and dear brother of Marie Bannon and the late Rolland and Orville Shearhod.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of services at 6:30 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Mary Ann Shield of Mount Prospect
Visitation for Mary Ann Shield (nee Craig), 58, formerly of Ripley, Tenn., will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. today, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. at Northwest Hwy., Mount Prospect.
Born Dec. 8, 1940, in Ripley, she died Monday, March 15, 1999, comfortably at home. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Ripley.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Milton Shield; children, James (Terry) Fusco, David (Danielle) Shield, Mikkel Shield and Susan (Tri) Le; grandchildren, Jonathan Fusco, Elyse Fusco, Jaren Fusco and Sydney Le; parents, James Craig and Betty Brown-Mohr; brother, James Robert (Jean) Craig; and sister, Pennie Craig-Kirby. Also left behind were many close and loving friends who were by her side.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Helen Koch Spillman of Schaumburg
Services for Helen Koch Spillman, 95, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. Rev. Donald Schmidt will officiate.
Born Dec. 21, 1903, in Chicago, the daughter of Michael and Mary (nee Stadler) Koch, she died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at Friendship Village. Burial will be in Irving Park Cemetery, Chicago.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Charles) Zimmerman of South Elgin; son, Jack (Collette) Koch of Naples, Fla.; grandchildren, Akia Woods, William (Domenica) Koch, Eva(John) Carroll, Michael Koch and Carol Chico; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Samuel Koch in 1964; second husband, Eugene Spillman in 1980; and brother, Sherman Koch in 1958.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Marcella Sprengelmeyer formerly of Wheaton
Funeral and burial services for Marcella Sprengelmeyer will be held today, in Dubuque, Iowa.
Born June 26, 1909, she died Friday, March 12, 1999, in Appleton, Wis.
She was a longtime resident of Wheaton and a parishioner of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Survivors include her sons, David (Charlene) of Austin, Texas and Lee J. (Lois) of Wausau, Wis.; daughters, Laura Sprengelmeyer of Larchmont, N. Y., Mary (John) Burroughs of Denver, Colo., Elaine (Dan) Putman of Menasha, Wis., Joyce (Ron) Gemoll of Fox Point, Wis. and Lois (Thomas) Riley of Middleton, Wis.; and numerous grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee A. Sprengelmeyer.

Alice L. Stromberg of Naperville
Services for Alice L. Stromberg, 79, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 117 W. Van Buren, Naperville. Rev. Nathan Bartel will officiate.
Born Feb. 24, 1920, in Detroit, Mich., she died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at Edward Hospital. Interment will be in Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park, 9100 S. Archer Ave., Willow Springs, Ill.
Mrs. Stromberg was a resident of Naperville since 1934, coming from Downers Grove. She worked for 30 years at Russell's Cleaners. She was an avid reader.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Frank Stromberg of Naperville; son, Douglas Stromberg of Palm Springs, Calif.; and sisters, Fern (Bernard) Sesselman of Naperville and Lorraine Parz of Redding, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Louise (nee Bauer) Albrecht; and sister, Phyllis Jones.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Evelyn M. Szukala of Mundelein
Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn M. Szukala (nee Brzostowski) will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. today, at Santa Maria del Popolo Chapel, 116 N. Lake St. (Route 45), Mundelein.
She died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Interment will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles.
Mrs. Szukala was a devoted member and treasurer of the Friends of Fremont Public Library in Mundelein, and a member of the Widows Outreach Network of Condell Medical Center, where she also volunteered on the Hospitality Committee.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine (Alan) Johnson of Mundelein and grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Andrew, Paul and Peter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; son, Paul; and sisters, Adele Miron and Roma Brzostowski.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fremont Public Library, 470 N. Lake St., Mundelein, IL 60060.
