Harold `Duke' Westerman of Elgin
Funeral services for Harold `Duke' Westerman, 89, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elgin.
Born Dec. 27, 1909, in Elgin, he died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at Maplewood Care Center. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Elgin.
Mr. Westerman had been employed as a bartender at the Hilltop Tap. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Elgin Moose Lodge #799 and a former member of the Riverside Club. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he had been an usher for many years.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Celia R. Stash Westerman in 1990.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, with prayers at 4 p.m., at Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin.
Masses or memorials to the charity of donor's choice would be appreciated.

Ernest Wood of Mundelein
Graveside services for Ernest Wood, 94, will be held at 11 a.m. today, at Diamond Lake Cemetery, Mundelein.
Born Dec. 22, 1904, in London, England, he died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at ManorCare of Arlington Heights.
Mr. Wood had been a resident of Mundelein for 57 years.
He is survived by his children, Anthony Wood of California, Edward (Janice) Wood of Mundelein and Sally (Ted) McIntire of Alaska; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Wood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 535 N. Lake St., Mundelein, IL 60060.
Arrangements were made by Kristan Funeral Home P. C., Mundelein.

Edward Roberts Armstrong of Chicago
Memorial services for `Eddie' Armstrong will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Morningside Apts., 170 W. Oak St., Chicago.
Born May 15, 1915, in Port Huron, Mich., he died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Prior to his retirement in 1982, he was employed in the art departments of Atkinson Inc. and Fuller & Smith & Ross.
During his last 20 years at Morningside, he endeared himself to all the residents with his thoughtfulness and generosity.
An avid reader, he shared his books with many others.

Mary G. Becker of Schaumburg
Services and interment for Mary G. Becker (nee Carmody), 85, will be private.
Born May 15, 1913, in Carrollton, Ill., she died Thursday, March 18, 1999, in Elk Grove Village.
A housewife, mother and grandmother, she was the wife of the late Herbert Baker and the late William Becker; mother of Richard and Robert (Kathy) Baker; and stepmother of Bonnie Simonson.
Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes.
Arrangements were made by Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, Schaumburg.

Opal E. Belden (nee Bish), 85, of Defiance, Ohio, formerly of Hoffman Estates, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999. Arrangements were made by Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance, (419) 784-2441.

Edward P. Bundy, 89, of Elmhurst, died Thursday, March 18, 1999. Arrangements were made by Gibbons Funeral Home, Elmhurst, (630) 832-0018.

Clarence E. Busse of Lake Forest
Services for Clarence E. Busse, 80, will be private.
Born March 10, 1919, in Chicago, he passed away Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Governors Park Nursing Home in Barrington.
Mr. Busse was the president of National Scale of Illinois. He served in the Navy during World War II. His hobbies included collecting antiques and playing with model trains.
Survivors include his children, Steven Busse of Long Beach, Calif., Rhonda (Bill) McKenzie of Lake Forest and Richard (Barbara) Busse of Wauconda; and grandchildren, Jennifer and Lacy McKenzie and Tara Busse.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 1440 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607.

George V. Carracio Sr., 81, of Woodridge, formerly of Burr Ridge, died Thursday, March 18, 1999. Arrangements were made by Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, Lisle, (630) 964-9392.

Lucial Jen Cheng of St. Charles
Services for Lucial Jen Cheng, 59, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles. Rev. Peter Wang will officiate.
Born June 27, 1939, in the city of Tai-Hsien, province of Kiang-Su, in China, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Chen, she died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at home. Burial will be in North Cemetery, St. Charles.
Mrs. Cheng graduated from the prestigious National Taiwan University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She did graduate study at the Graduate Commerce Division of the Graduate School, DePaul University. On Aug. 1, 1964, she married Paul Hung-Chaio Cheng in Chicago. She deeply loved God and was the best wife and a mother a family could ever ask for.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Cheng; children, Samuel Cheng of Chicago, Deborah Cheng of Virginia, Elizabeth Cheng of Evanston and Maria Cheng of Indiana; and sisters, Ruth Yuan of Massachusetts and Grace Chen of North Carolina.
Visitation will befrom 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Wayne Lee Clark
A memorial service for Wayne Lee Clark, 56, most recently of Chicago, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, at Grace Lutheran Church, 493 Forest Ave., Glen Ellyn.
Mr. Clark was director of IMC at Bloomingdale's DuJardin Elementary School and videographer for First Light Production in Burr Ridge. He was former AV director of Naperville North High School, and a member of Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club and the Professional Car Society.
He was the beloved husband of Marlene (nee Fuhrman); dear father of Jennifer (Michael) Drew of Lombard; loving grandfather of Cassidy Jane and Samuel Vincent Drew; cherished brother of Carol (Arthur) Barlow of Munster, Ind.; devoted son of the late Raymond and Lucille Clark; fond nephew of many aunts and uncles; and special uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at Tews Funeral Home, 18230 S. Dixie Hwy., Homewood.

Viola K. Collins of Arlington Heights
Memorial services for Viola K. Collins (nee Kasten), 88, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, at St. Simon Episcopal Church, 717 W. Kirchoff Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005.
Born Dec. 24, 1910, in Lebanon, Ill., she died Friday, March 12, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare.
Mrs. Collins was a sorority sister of Chi Delta Alpha.
She was the wife of the late Bernard Hall Collins; mother of Janet (Larry) Shannon and Barbara (Robert) Smyth; grandmother of Gregory and Nina Kennicott, Diane Shannon and Suzanne Smyth; sister of the late Florence Klotz, Harold Kasten, Robert Kasten and Eleanor Lafferty; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the church (address listed above).
Arrangements were made by Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral Home, Arlington Heights.

Jeanette V. Conrad of Gurnee
Visitation for Jeanette V. Conrad, 85, will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 Cemetery Rd., Gurnee.
Born March 4, 1914, in Toledo, Ohio, she died Thursday, March 11, 1999, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Burial will be private.
Survivors include her children, Mark W. Conrad of Lake Bluff and Tony (Paula) Lisiakowski of Toledo; grandchildren, Jerry (Ursula) Lisiakowski of Maumee, Ohio, Joy (Kevin) Creutz of Perrysburg, Ohio, Gina (Keith) Kusz of Scotts, Mich. and Jody Lisiakowski of Toledo; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Osmialowski of Tampa, Fla. and Edward Osmialowski of Toledo; andmany nieces.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Osmialowski.

Delores I. `Dee' Coulson of South Elgin
Services for Delores I. `Dee' Coulson, 48, will begin at 9:30a.m. Saturday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Laurence Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph F. Kulak will officiate.
Born June 13, 1950, in Renfrew, Penn., she died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva.
Burial will be private.
Mrs. Coulson had been a residentof South Elgin for the past five years and had formerly lived in St. Charles for 10 years. She had a 25-year career as a nurse practitioner and nursing educator and was a member of the Illinois Nurses Association, where she had formerly served as president in District 2. She was also a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church in Elgin, and was founder and president of the Esteemed Radko Club.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas Coulson; sons, Greg and Nathan Coulson, both of South Elgin; and sister, Linda (Tom) Saunders of Phoenix, Ariz.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Donations in her memory may be given to the family for the Dee I. Coulson Nursing Scholarship Fund.

Kathryn Einung Gamlin of Lombard
A memorial service for Kathryn Einung Gamlin, 88, formerly of several western suburbs, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 139 E. First St., Hinsdale.
Born Nov. 22, 1910, in Sioux Falls, S. D., she died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at Beacon Hill in Lombard.
She was the beloved wife of Earl Robert; loving mother of Marilyn G. (late Philip) Breiding and Nancy (Richard) Wilen; dear grandmother of Jennifer and Eric Wilen, and Kathy and Mark Breiding; and fond sister of Harriet Gamlin and Talmer (Kris) Einung.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, 1001 E. Touhy Ave., Des Plaines, IL 60018 or Hospice of DuPage, 690 E. North Ave., Carol Stream, IL 60188.
