Olga M. Zonsius of Mount Prospect
Friends and family of Olga M. Zonsius will meet Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Raymond de Penafort Church, 311 S. Ioka, Mt. Prospect. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery Mausoleum.
She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent P. Zonsius; dear sister of the late Leona S. Kreuser; loving aunt of Carol Snyder, Denny Kreuser Meg Gurce and Denise Nemmer; and great-aunt of Kris, Matt, Bill Jr., Todd and Sinan.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, at Hanekamp Funeral Home, 385 Waukegan Road (1/2 mile north of Dundee Road), Northbrook.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made to the American Heart Association of Metro Chicago, 208 S. LaSalle St., Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60604, would be appreciated.

Sara H. Balmes of Algonquin
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sara H. Balmes (nee Hall), 66, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Algonquin. The Rev. Michael J. Tierney will officiate.
Born May 30, 1932, in Norton, Kan., she died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at her home. Burial will be in Windridge Cemetery, Cary.
Mrs. Balmes was a 1954 graduate of Northwestern University and had been a school teacher at St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Cary. She was an active member of the Algonquin Garden Club for many years, handling the Publicity and Library Committees and holding several offices, including club president.
She also served with the Assisi Animal Foundation for many years, working with the Pet Therapy Group in particular. Her participationin the Cary Book Club, the Dundee Walking Club and the Ever So Young Club of St. Margaret Mary, along with severalother organizations, will be dearly missed. Her sharp mind and wit, her warm caring when someone was in need, and her cheerful demeanor and dedication to any task which she undertook has been an inspiration to many.
Her bravery and courage during her long battles with cancer demonstrated how faith could help carry one through life and eventually to a better place.
Thoughts of Sara will be happy reminders of how she touched many lives in many different ways. Her friends and family will miss her and thank God for blessing their lives with her.
Surviving are her husband, John Balmes, whom she married Jan. 22, 1955; son, Mark (Vicki) Balmes of Carol Stream; and daughter, Deborah Balmes of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with wake services at 7 p.m., at Wait Ross Allanson Algonquin Funeral Chapel, 201 S. Main St., Algonquin, and from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday, at the church.
Because of their love and admiration for their friend, Sara, her family and friends are asking that donations be made in her name to the Algonquin Garden Club, P. O. Box7851, Algonquin, IL 60102-2333. All funds collected will be used to purchase and plant Flowering Crab Trees along with a plaque in her memory.

Lucille C. Bravi formerly of Winfield
Memorial services for Lucille C. Bravi, 80, of Glendale, Ariz. for 4 months, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Faith Community Church, 910 Main St., West Chicago.
Born April 11, 1918, in Chicago, she died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at Thunder Bird Inpatient Facility in Glendale. Inurnment will be in Glen Oak Cemetery, West Chicago.
A former resident of Winfield for 20 years, Mrs. Bravi was a homemaker and member of Faith Community Church.
Survivors include her children, Gloria (Richard) Andersen of Fox Lake, Nancy (Bill) Tutor of Glendale and Gerard (Lori) Bravi of St. Peters, Mo.; sister-in-law, Florence Eggersdorf of Charlevoix, Mich.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Selma Eggersdorf; daughter, Bonnie Wester; sister, Arlene Machowski; brother, Warren Eggersdorf; and beloved husband, Joseph J. Bravi.
Memorial visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at Leonard Memorial Home, Ltd., OS033 Church St., Winfield.

Bruce L. Brodie of Mount Prospect
Prayers for Bruce L. Brodie, 34, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.
Born April 12, 1964, in Kenner, La., he died Friday, March 19, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Mr. Brodie was a manager in a steel warehouse. He will be missed by many friends and his music will be missed by all. He lived and spoke from his heart, and in our hearts is where we will most remember Bruce.
`You'll be with us forever--love all. ' He was the loving husband of Mary J. (nee Alterini); dearest father of Olivia Jean and Colin Leland Brodie; dear son of Delores and Morris Brodie of Kenner, La.; loved brother of Glenn, Craig, Karen and Cheryl Brodie, all of Kenner; dear grandson of Eleanore Thuer of Kenner; and dear son-in-law of Jean and John Schmidt of Rolling Meadows. He is also survived by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

John W. Cross Sr., 72, of Glendale Heights, formerly of Villa Park, died Sunday, March 21, 1999. Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, Villa Park, (630) 832-4161.

Josephine DiCarlo (nee Scorsone), 87, of Bartlett, died Sunday, March 21, 1999. Arrangements were made by Countryside Funeral Home, Bartlett, (630) 289-7575.

James M. Doohan
Mass for James M. Doohan, 82, of Oak Park, formerly of Chicago, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Raymond Church, Elmhurst Road (Route 83) and Lincoln St., Mount Prospect.
Born Sept. 20, 1916, in Chicago, he died Saturday, March 20, 1999, in Oak Park.
Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Mr. Doohan, a Marine veteran of World War II, was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Company prior to his retirement.
He is survived by his nephew, James (Mary) Barrett and niece, Elizabeth Barrett (Robert) Reda.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the church.

Mark S. Garelli of Elk Grove Village

He is survived by his parents, Judy Carell and Mario Garelli; brothers and sisters, Concetta (Jack) Hedrick, Denise (Greg) Scurto, Carol Hellman, Michael Garelli and Dara Carell; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Melvin H. Heiden of Arlington Heights
Services for Melvin H. Heiden, 88, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights.
Born Feb. 10, 1911, in Arlington Heights, he died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Glenbridge Nursing Home in Niles. Burial will bein Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
A retired accountant for Northwest Community Health Center for 15 years, he retired in 1978, as the director of finance.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Helen (nee Cody); children, William (Linda) Heiden, Nancy (Jack) Karczewski, Merilyn (Donald) Freko and Dianne (Paul) Cottrill; brother, Ralph Heiden; sister, Shirley (Gerry) Heitman; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Heiden; and sister, Laverne.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday, at the funeral home.

John A. Heiser of Libertyville
Private services for John A. Heiser, 88, were held at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, Libertyville.
Born Feb. 3, 1911, in Philadelphia, Pa., he passed away Sunday, March 21, 1999, at ManorCare Health Services in Libertyville. Interment was in Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst.
He moved to Chicago during his youth, and had also been a resident of California. He had been living in Libertyville since 1984.
Surviving are his sister-in-law, Rhoda Ross-Heiser of Libertyville; nieces and nephews, Marjorie (James) Jobs of Grayslake, Virginia `Moppy' (Tim) Towne of Libertyville and Stephen (Norma) Heiser of Banks, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Kathryn Heiser; wife, Ruth in 1984; brother, Stephen Heiser in 1989; and sister, Claire Monsenin 1992.

Larson J. Jensen of St. Charles
A funeral Mass for Larson J. Jensen, 86, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Patrick Church, 408 Cedar St., St. Charles. Rev. Jon Jensen will officiate.
Born Dec. 1, 1912, in Rensselaer, Ind., he died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Pineview Care Center in St. Charles. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Geneva Township.
He was co-owner of Jensen's Bakery in St. Charles and after that he was president of St. Charles Ready Mix until his retirement. Mr. Jensen was a veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Post #5036, American Legion Post #342 and St. Patrick Catholic Church, all in St. Charles.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; and son, Father Jon Jensen of Tijuana, Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bing, Red, Boband Al Jensen; sisters, Thelma Hummel and Olga Jensen; and parents, Jens and Celena.
There will be no visitation.

David Brian Joslin of Glen Ellyn
A memorial Mass for David Brian Joslin, 29, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Petronille Catholic Church, 420 Glenwood, Glen Ellyn.
Born Sept. 25, 1969, in Oak Park, he died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at home with his family.
A lifelong resident of Glen Ellyn, he attended grade school atSt. Petronille in Glen Ellyn, graduated in 1987 from Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn and attended College of DuPage.
Survivors include his parents, Charles W. and Margaret L. Joslin of Glen Ellyn; brothers, Michael Joslin of Peoria, Ill., Mark Joslin of Eureka, Calif. and Matthew Joslin of Chicago; sisters, Ann Andric of Madison Wis., Nancy Hogenkamp of Lakewood, Colo. and Sharon Joslin of Denver, Colo.; two nieces; and two nephews.
