Ellen A. Cook of Naperville
A memorial service for Ellen A. Cook, 43, will be held at 1 p. m. today, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. The Rev. Dr. Thomas Hanson will officiate.
Born Feb. 16, 1955, in Oak Park, she died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Interment will be private.
Miss Cook grew up in Villa Park and attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb and the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. She was a resident of Naperville for the past 10 years and was employed by Petco of Aurora. Miss Cook was a member of the Villa Park Christian Church. Loving, generous and thoughtful to others, she was beloved by family and her many friends. Her five nephews were her pride and joy and they thought of her as their second mother. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her mother, Ruth Cook of Sister Bay, Wis.; sisters, Cathleen Fields of Eden Prairie, Minn.
and Jennifer (Martin) Welch of Naperville; sister-in-law, Lynn Cook of DeKalb; and nephews, Kevin, Brian and Derek Welch and Russell and Ian Cook.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Ellen A. Cook Memorial Fund, for the purpose of fostering appreciation of the arts in Naperville.

Richard S. Costante Sr. of Downers Grove
Services for Richard S. Costante Sr., 63, will begin with prayers at 8:30 a. m. Monday, at Salerno's Galewood Chapels, 1857 N. Harlem Ave., Chicago, and continue with Mass at 9:30 a. m. at St. Giles Church. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia Costante (nee Moreth); devoted father of Michele Ann (Patrick) Rogers, Michael Richard Costante and Richard Severio Costante Jr.; proud grandfather of Anthony Michael; dear uncle to many nieces and nephews; and loving friend to all.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p. m. Sunday, at the funeral chapel.

Thomas J. Cox, 72, of Lombard, formerly of Villa Park, died Wednesday, Dec. 30. Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, Villa Park, (630) 832-4161.

Emily Reed Daniels of Hampshire
Services for Emily Reed Daniels, 88, will be held at 11 a. m. Monday, at First United Methodist Church in Hampshire. The Rev. Bill Shaw will officiate.
Born Nov. 17, 1910, in Florence Township near Wilmington, Ill., to George and Hattie (nee Whitmore) Reed, she died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, at her home. Burial will be in Willard Grove Cemetery, Channahon, Ill.
Mrs. Daniels was only a few months old when her family moved to Channahon to help care for her mother's father. Emily attended school there and on Sept. 17, 1939, at the Channahon Methodist Church, she married Vivian Daniels of Charter Grove and became a farmer's wife. The couplehave been residents of Hampshire since 1975 and Emily was active in the First United Methodist Church of Hampshire, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school for more than 20 years.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Vivian Daniels; children, Ethel Daniels of Hampshire and Earl Daniels of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; grandchildren, Christ Daniels, Kim (Jeff) Winfree, Karrie Barnes, Kelly (Michael) Blanchar and Erica Daniels; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Kathy Daniels; brother, George Reed; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Ralph, at birth; and brother, William Reed, in 1989.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p. m. Sunday, at Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire, and prior to the services on Monday, at the church.

George Henry DeHaeseleer of St. Charles
A funeral service for George Henry DeHaeseleer, 77, will be held at 11 a. m. Monday, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1145 N. Fifth Ave., St. Charles. The Rev. Kenneth Ahlstrand will officiate.
Born June 3, 1921, in St. Charles, the son of Remie and Maria (nee Haelterman) DeHaeseleer, hedied Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, St. Charles.
A lifelong resident of St. Charles, he served in the Army with the 94th Division. George had been employed as a foreman with Moline Malleable Iron Company in St. Charles and he retired in 1982. He was a member of the churchand St. Charles VFW Post 5036.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Irene (nee Hanson); son, Dan (Ann) DeHaeseleer of Maple Park; daughter, Gail DeHaeseleer of Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren, Timothy and Erica; brothers, Arthur (Phyllis) Haeseleer of Agoura, Calif. and Gerald (Wilda) DeHaeseleer of Templeton, Calif.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Julie Krieger; and brother, Robert Haeseleer.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p. m. Sunday, at Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St., St. Charles and from 10 a. m. until the time of services Monday, at the church.

Herman Engelking of Arlington Heights
Services for Herman Engelking, 97, will be held at 10:30 a. m. Monday, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights. He will lie in state one hour prior to services.
Born Oct. 19, 1901, in Arlington Heights, he died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at Northwest Community Healthcare Center. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Engelking, a lifelong resident of Arlington Heights, was a retired farmer of the Arlington Heights area. He was a former custodian for Palatine High School District 211, where he worked from 1955 to 1972, and an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.
He was the husband of the lateAlma (nee Krueger), whom he had married Nov. 28, 1929, in Elk Grove Township; dearest father of Richard (Janet) Engelking of Palatine and the late Robert, Marvin and Dennis Engelking; loved father-in-law of Bernice and Carolyn Engelking; dear grandfather of 12 and one late grandchild; dear greatgrandfather of 12; and fond brother of Gus Engelking of Arlington Heights.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p. m. Sunday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights.

Martha L. Engelking of Des Plaines
Services for Martha L. Engelking (nee Moehling), 85, formerly of Lake Geneva, Wis., and Arlington Heights, will be held at 11 a. m. Monday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights.
Born Aug. 18, 1913, in Des Plaines, she died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at her home.
Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
A homemaker, she is survived by her children, Shirley Roberts, Roger Engelking and Marjorie (John) Kitch; grandchildren, Andrew, Lisa, Donna, JoAnn, Julie and Kara; and five greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Wilbert Moehling, and sister, Helen Schalk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex H. Engelking; and brothers, Arthur, Adolph, Ernst, George and John Moehling.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p. m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Matthew Gill Feliciano of Elgin
Services for Matthew Gill Feliciano, age 2 months, will be held at 10:30 a. m. Monday, at Grace Evangelical Church.
The Rev. David Boyer will officiate.
Born Oct. 27, 1998, to Gilbert and Lilia (Barbosa) Feliciano of Elgin, he died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at his home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents; brother and sister, Marcus and Lauren Feliciano, both at home; paternal grandparents, Filomeno and Luciona Feliciano of Elgin; maternal grandmother, Concepcion Barbosa of Elgin; uncles, Manuel (Linda) Barbosa of Elgin, Eliseo (Sharon) Barbosa Jr. of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Luis Antonio (Alejandra) Feliciano of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; aunts, Jane Barbosa of Elgin, Connie Zapata of Elgin, Elisa (Frank) Avina of La Harra, Calif., Lupe (Victor) Morales of Elgin, Santa Feliciano of Elgin, Mary (Andrew) Chramowicz of Elgin and Blanca (Scott) Schlytow of St. Charles; and 16 cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eliseo Barbosa; aunt, Carmen Barbosa; and an aunt and uncle, Juanita and Juanito Feliciano, in infancy.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p. m. Sunday, at O'Connor & Homeier Funeral Home, 364 Division St., Elgin.

Forrest `Woody' G. Gardner of Palatine
Memorial services for Forrest `Woody' G. Gardner, 54, will be held at 4 p. m. Sunday, at All Saints Lutheran Church, 630 S. Quentin Road, Palatine.
Born Nov. 14, 1944, in Chicago, he died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998, at home. Interment will be private.
Mr. Gardner had been employed as a real estateappraiser for Washington Mutual and was the senior lead staff review appraiser in the wholesale mortgage division. He was also a youth football coach for 15 years in the south suburban area. Mr. Gardner was a member of All SaintsLutheran Church, and American Legion Williams Post #81 and Moose Lodge #906, both in Monticello, Ind.
He was the beloved husband of Carol Gardner (nee Essler); loving father of Keith Gardner, Julia Tobin and Kris (Stephanie) Gardner, and stepfather of Eric A. (Sheri) Bovino, Heidi (Keith) Kirchner and Jessica A. Bovino; cherished grandfatherof Kevin, Lisa, Jermey, Cassie, Kaitlyn, Michael, Matthew and Hannah; and dear brother of Carl (Claudia) Gardner.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, 625 North Court, Suite 280, Palatine, IL 60067, would be appreciated.

Gladys Jeanette Goetze of St. Charles
Services for Gladys Jeanette Goetze, 88, will be held at 4 p. m. Sunday, at Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St., St. Charles. The Rev. William Tucker of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Mount Prospect will officiate.
Born Oct. 18, 1910, in Chicago, to Ernest and Lillian (nee Colby) Mielke, she died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at Provena Geneva Care Center in Geneva.
Burial will be on Monday, in River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia.
Mrs. Goetze loved to crochet, enjoyed good food, and was known by all around her as a sweet, cheerful person. She was employed for many years by the Dunham Woods Riding Club and was a former member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Charles.
Survivors include her daughter, Marlene (Charles) Black of Mount Prospect; son, Arnold (Regina) Goetze of St.
Charles; grandchildren, Karl (Tammy) Goetze, Gretchen (Bob) Heim, Kurt (Sue) Goetze, Heidi (John) Lewis, Amy (Michael) O'Brien and Paul Black; and great-grandchildren, Dylan Goetze, Damon Goetze, Zachary Taylor, Alex Haley, Regan O'Brien, Jeanette O'Brien and Alyssa Black.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Goetze; and brothers, Harold and Ernest Mielke.
Visitation will be from 2 p. m. until the time of services Sunday, at the funeral home.

Katharina Gutzeit of Mount Prospect
Private funeral services will be held for Katharina Gutzeit (nee Ebner).
Born in Viechtach, Germany, she died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, in Arlington Heights. Interment will be private.
Mrs. Gutzeit was a homemaker and had formerly resided in Chicago.
She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Gutzeit; loving mother of Evelyn (Hans) Rebsamen of Mount Prospect; dear sister of Berta Wanninger of Wilmington, Del.; cherished grandmother of four; and great-grandmother of two.
