Services for Valeria Weine (nee Matus) will be held at 12:30 p.m. today, at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/ Roselle Rd. ), Roselle. Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum.
She was the beloved wife of the late Edward; devoted mother of Edward (Jessica) Weine, Rosemary(Terrence) Kainz and Gerald (Sandra) Weine; loving daughter of the late Albert and Rose Matus; dear sister of the late Frances Kucenski and Alex (Lucy) Matus; fond grandmother of Edward (Mary) Weine, Pamela (Jerald) Iwanski (nee Weine), Richard Kainz and Jeffrey (Kimberlee) Kainz; and dear great-grandmother of Stephen and Eddie.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon today, at the funeral chapel.

Richard G. `Dick' Wilkins
Funeral services for Richard G. `Dick' Wilkins, 61, will begin at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York Road (1/2 mile north of St. Charles Road), Elmhurst, and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside.
Mr. Wilkins was the owner of Don McAuliffe Buick and Mazda in Villa Park.
He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (nee Lockerbie); loving father of Donna, Thomas (Lauren) and Daniel (fiancee, Cara); proud grandfather of Samantha, Melissa and Abbey; dear brother of Robert (Dorothy) and Jay (Peggy); fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; and friend to many.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 8a.m. until the time of services Thursday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Grade School or the Ray Graham Association.

Rosalie E. Ewald of Chicago
Mass for Rosalie E. Ewald (nee Ullmann), 86, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Josaphat Church, 2311 N. Southport, Chicago.
Born Feb. 22, 1913, in Chicago, shd died Monday, March 22, 1999, at her residence.
Interment will be in Maryhill Cemetery.
Mrs. Ewald was the owner of Joseph J. EwaldFuneral Home in Chicago. A lifelong resident of Chicago, she was a homemaker and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Josaphat Church.
She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Ewald Sr.; mother of Jerome T. Ewald of Chicago, Joseph J. Ewald Jr. of Cary, Susan J. (Joseph) Ewald Obryk of Romeoville, and the late Thomas, James and Michael Ewald; sister of the late Charles, George and John Ullmann and Sophie Garand; and aunt of many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Joseph J. Ewald Funeral Home, 1359 W. Fullerton, Chicago.
In lieu of flowers, Masses would be preferred.

Mary Edith Barthel of Arlington Heights
Services for Mary Edith Barthel, 76, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 333 W. Thomas, Arlington Heights.
Born April 30, 1922, in Chicago, she died Monday, March 22, 1999, at the Lutheran Home for the Aged. Interment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Barthel had worked at Carson Pirie Scott & Company for 11 years as manager of the Men's Department and at Xerox for 11 years as a clerk. She was a charter member of the Christian Church(Disciples of Christ), sang in the church choir and served the church in many other ways.
She was the beloved wife for 55 years of Joseph M. Barthel; loving mother of Kathleen A. (John) Johnston and Judith E. (Jack) Frost; cherished grandmother of Tobin, Elizabeth and Allison Johnston, and Jeffrey and Bethany Butler; beloved daughter of the late Louis J. and Alice Simmons; dear sister of the late Warner A. and Louis C. Knobe; and caring aunt of many niecesand nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows. Mrs. Barthel will also lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Christian Church or to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Norma Crystal Baumgarten
Services for Norma Crystal Baumgarten, 91, of Chicago, will be held at noon today, at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles.
Born June 11, 1907, in Fredrick, Wis., to John and Jennie (nee Andersson) Cole, she died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at Resurrection Hospital. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
A homemaker, she was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Fredrick Baumgarten; loving mother of August F. (Shirley) Baumgarten, Joan (Philip) Borsik, Norma Baumgarten and the late Arthur Baumgarten; dear mother-in-law of Arlene Baumgarten; cherished sister of Myra Westphal; devoted grandmother of 11; and great-grandmother of 10.

Russell N. Biggerstaff of Buffalo Grove for 16 years
Funeral services for Russell N. Biggerstaff, 75, formerly of Wheeling and Chicago, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, with the Rev. Abner Baumanofficiating.
Born Feb. 27, 1924 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, he died Monday, March 22, 1999, at Northwest CommunityHealthcare, Arlington Heights. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum in River Grove.
Mr. Biggerstaff was superintendent of production for Ekco Products and Tenneco Packaging Division, having served them for 42 years. He was an active member of Arlington Countryside Church, and a World War II Army veteran, having served with Headquarters Company 1st Battalion, 35th Infantry, 25th Division.
He was the loving husband of Betty S. (nee Skelton) and dearest father of Gloria G. Davis of Birchwood, Wis. and Debra A. (Steve) Simon of Wawaka, Ind. He was preceded in death by Marillyn A. (nee Wolenberg) who died Dec. 17, 1972. They were married July 8, 1944 and he was preceded in death by his son Brett R. Biggerstaff. He was the dear grandfather of Christine L. (Dwayne) Lydick of Island Lake, StevenC. Simon Jr., Russell B. Simon, Marillyn A. Simon and David D. Simon, all of Wawaka, and dear great-grandfather ofMiranda B. Lydick of Island Lake. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Hugh, David and Frederick Biggerstaff and his sister, Laura Norris.
He is also survived by his stepsons, Brad (Judy), Randy (Kori) and Greg (Janet) Mahoney and seven stepgrandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Steven Paul Burks of Grayslake since last Sept.
Mass of the Resurrection for Steven Paul Burks, 34, formerly of Chicago, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Gilberts Catholic Church, Grayslake, with the Rev. Robert Beaven, pastor, officiating.
Steven was employed by American Hotel Register of Northbrook for more than four years and was a member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church in Grayslake.
He leaves his wife, Mary Burks (nee Keane);children, Timothy Michael and Bridget Elizabeth; sisters, Linda (Jesse) Maya of Aurora and Karen Small of Tennessee; brother, Jack Burks of Chicago; mother, Marilyn (Donald) Coleman of Chicago; brother-in-law, Thomas (Deborah) Keane of Grayslake; and stepmother, Ruth Burks.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Burks, in July 1997.
Friends of the family may visit from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake.
Memorials may be given to the family for the education of Steven's children.

Timothy C. Daley of Palatine
A memorial service for Tim Daley, 44, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Visitation will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m.
Born Dec. 5, 1954, in Chicago, he passed away Friday, March 19, 1999, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
He was the beloved brother of Maureen (Keith) Madelung; dear nephew of Arleen (the late Tony) Kaitschuck and Marjorie (Lennart) Lindstrom; and fond cousin of Sue (Lenny) Lachapelle, Diane Ford and Kris (Ed) Milhousen. He also leaves many loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy and Lorraine Daley; and his grandparents, Carl and Margaret Ladendorf.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Dennis J. `Denny' Ellithorpe of Lisle
A memorial visitation for Dennis J. `Denny' Ellithorpe, 59, will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
Born Feb. 29, 1940, in Wayne, Neb., he died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at Edward Hospital, Naperville. Interment will be private.
Mr. Ellithorpe had lived in Lisle since 1968. He attended the University of Nebraska where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He graduated in 1961, receiving his bachelor of science degree in mechanicalengineering.
He served in the Air Force from 1963 until his retirement at the rank of colonel in 1992, and was a veteran of the Vietname War. Among his achievements during his military career, he received the Distinguished ServiceMedal and seven Air Medals. Mr. Ellithorpe later worked as a captain for American Airlines and was a financial adviser for Pritchard, Hubble & Herr since 1996. He was a member and former O'Hare chairman of the Allied Pilots Association and a member of Silver Stripes and Grey Eagles. Among his other activities, he was an avid golfer, tennis player, and traveler. He will be especially remembered as a dedicated family man.
Survivors include his wife, Maggie Ellithorpe of Naperville, whom he married in 1962; daughter, Lisa (Van) Hutcherson of Hinsdale; son, Jeff (Ingrid) Ellithorpe of Hinsdale; grandchildren, Alec and Grant Hutcherson and Anna Margaret Ellithorpe; mother, Faye Livingston of Memphis, Tenn.; mother-inlaw, Doris McLaughlin of Lisle; and brother, Jack (Linda) Ellithorpe of Plainview, Texas.

Lorraine I. Furmanski of Schaumburg
Visitation for Lorraine I. Furmanski will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at Martin Funeral Home, 333 S. Roselle Road, Roselle.
Born Feb. 26, 1937, she died Saturday, March 20, 1999.
She is survived by her husband, George Furmanski; sister, Cheri; children, Bonnie, Lori, Phil (Tammy), Paul (Kathy) and Ron; grandchildren, Mallory, Stacy and Nicole; nieces and nephews, Doreen, Chuck, Bob, Nancy and Becky; her Aunt Esther and Uncle Hank; and her Aunt Shirley and Uncle Abe.

Nicole Michelle Gersch of Gilberts
A memorial service for Nicole Michelle Gersch, 12, will be held on Saturday, at the Church of the Cross, 475 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates, IL 60195. Visitation with the family will begin at 11 a.m. and services will begin at 1 p.m.
Surviving are her mother, Nancy Gersch of Gilberts, and father, James Gersch of Black Canyon, Ariz.; grandmother, Marie Schubert; grandfather, William Gersch; sisters Kelly and Jamie; and brother, James Ryan. She was also the dear niece of Ken (Sun) Schubert, Linda Schuessler, Donna (Tim) Powell, Mary Schubert, Bill (Sandy) Gersch and Kim (Gary) Beer; and great-niece of many aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Church of the Cross or to the Leukemia Society of America, 100 W. Monroe St., Chicago, IL 60603.
