Daniel J. Holbrook of Naperville
A Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel J. Holbrook, 43, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 2220 Lisson Rd., Naperville.
Born Jan. 24, 1956, in Chicago, he died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton.
A 6-year Naperville resident, Mr. Holbrook was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church and employed by CNA Insurance Company for the past 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen; children, Erin, Sean, Kevin, Patrick and Brian Holbrook; mother, Elaine Duggan of Wheaton; sisters, Ann (David) Berndes of Lindenhurst, Rita (Bill) Vahle of Addison, Patricia (Ron) Ramirez of Chicago, Kathleen (Bill) Mesheimer of Lombard, Mary Ellen (Tim) Neuman of Glenview and Jacqueline (Nathan) Neer of Itasca; brothers, Bill (Christine) Holbrook of Aurora, John (Sheila) Duggan of St. Charles, Thomas (Laura) Duggan of Winfield and Matthew (Lori) Duggan of Glen Ellyn; mother-in-law, Margaret Tyrrell of Westchester; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Holbrook; stepfather, John B. Duggan; and father-in-law, Harold Tyrrell.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holbrook Children Educational Fund.

Ralph H. Knutson of Elk Grove Village
Services for Ralph H. Knutson, 56, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Rd. (three blocks south of Biesterfield Rd. ), Elk Grove Village.
Born in Fargo, N. D., he died suddenly Saturday, March 27, 1999, at his home. Interment will be in Irving Park Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Jean S. (nee Medeen); children, Howard, April Jefferies, Deborah (Lowell) Noel, Brian (Kristin) and Christine Barker; brother, Paul (Cynthia); and grandchildren, Hailey, Dillon and Ryan.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral chapel.

Bernard C. Korcz formerly of Carpentersville
Funeral services for Bernard C. Korcz, 66, of Rockford, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee.
Born June 14, 1932, inChicago, the son of Casmir and Mary Korcz, he died Friday, March 26, 1999, at Vencor Hospital in Sycamore. Burial will be private.
A 32-year resident of the area, he formerly served as a police officer in Hampshire and also a reserve police officer in Carpentersville. He was the former owner/operator of All American Ambulance Service of Carpentersville.
Survivors include his wife, Noreen, whom he married on May 26, 1991; daughters, Patricia (Tom) Douglass of Carpentersville, Bernadette (Kenny) Klatkiewicz of Crivitz, Wis., and Vicki Keough of Sparks, Nev.; stepchildren, William, Diane, Carrey, Michael, Donald and Richard; and 21 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Norbert J. Hladilek (Norm Ladd) of Rolling Meadows
Prayers for Norbert J. Hladilek also known as NormLadd, 71, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Colette Church, Rolling Meadows.
Born March 22, 1928, in Flint, Mich., he died Saturday, March 27, 1999. Burial will be private.
He was the orchestra leader of the Norm Ladd Orchestra.
Survivors include his children, Gary and Dawn (Robert) Lapetina; brothers, Donald (Carol), Richard (Pat) and James; and grandchildren, Stephanie, Zachary, Gregory, Jeffery and Michelle.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Carolyn A. Linzenmeyer
A funeral Mass for Carolyn A. Linzenmeyer (nee Bergen) will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Gabrielle Church in Prairie du Chien, Wis.
Mrs. Linzenmeyer died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Lutheran General Health Center. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin.
She was the wife of the late Earl J.; mother of Tom (Toni), Earl, Nan (Geno) D'Ercoli, Judy (Richard) Moen and Mary (Todd) Karasek; grandmother of Rachele (Bart) Black, Nicole (Jim) Gifford, Gina D'Ercoli, Mary Moen, Stephanie (Scott), Tom (Dawn) and Brian (Holly) Linzenmeyer, and Megan and Michael Linzenmeyer; and great-grandmother of five.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.

Thomas Lynch of West Chicago
Services for Thomas Lynch, 86, will begin with prayers at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, at NorrisWalen Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago, and continue with Mass at noon, at St. Mary's Church.
Born July 26, 1912, in West Chicago, to James and Hannah (nee Hahn) Lynch, he passed away Sunday, March 28, 1999, at Wynscape Health Care Center in Wheaton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Chicago.
A lifelong resident of West Chicago, Mr. Lynch was a member of St. Mary's Church in West Chicago and the Father Gaffney Council 1555 of the Knights of Columbus. He was formerly an engineer for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, retiring in the late 1970s after more than 40 years of service. Mr. Lynch was also a World War II veteran, having served in the Marine Corps with duty overseas and in the South Pacific.
Surviving are his sister, Mae Rueland of Georgia; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Lynch of West Chicago and Arlene Lynch of St. Louis, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Mary Carol Newhouse, Ann Welch, William, James, Christopher and Michael Lynch, Leanne Scalf, Kathleen Dukleth, David Fox, Jerry Johnson, and Patti Wimble; and many great-nieces and greatnephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers and sisters, Olive, Edna, Harry, Helen, Glenn and Robert.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Peter F. Mallon of Arlington Heights
Prayers for Peter F. Mallon, 76, will be said at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (four blocks south of Palatine Rd. ), Arlington Heights. Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell Ave., Arlington Heights.
Born Aug. 10, 1922, in Chicago, he died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Northwest Continuing Care Center. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Mallon retired in 1982 after 30 years of service as an accountant for Inland Steel. He was a veteran of the Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Dolores C. (nee McEnerney), whom he married on Jan. 25, 1947; children, Mary (Allan) Weiss of Buffalo Grove and Margaret (Donald) Scheive of Bartlett; grandchildren, Robert, Brian and Colette; and son-in-law, Tom Korman.
He was preceded indeath by his daughter, Patricia; three brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Jane A. McCabe of Skokie
Jane A. McCabe (nee Fowlie), 78, formerly of Evanston, died Friday, March 26, 1999, at her home. No services will be held at her request.
Mrs. McCabe was born Nov. 2, 1920, in Chicago. Interment will be private.
She had retired from Evanston/Skokie School District No. 65, in the food service department.
She was the wife of the late James C.; mother of Michael (Kathleen M. )of Skokie, Timothy P. (Theresa) of Palatine and Kathleen R. of Skokie; grandmother of Kelly, Kylene, Mary, Erin, Casey and Carly; and aunt and great-aunt of many.
Memorials may be made to the Niles Public Library, books on tape program, 6960 Oakton St., Niles, IL 60714 or Skokie Public Library, books on tape program, 5215 Oakton St., Skokie, IL 60077.

Leonard F. Mellen of Elgin
Services for Leonard F. Mellen, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral Chapel, Elgin. Rev. Herbert Hedstrom of Evangelical Covenant Church will officiate.
Born March 24, 1919, in Tamaroa, Ill., the son of Ernest and Minnie Ogrzwalla Mellen, he died Friday, March 26, 1999, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
He was a graduate of Elgin High School, and had served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He had worked as a carpenter for 16 years as a custodian for U-46 School District for 22 years before retiring. He was a Cubmaster for Pack 18 at Columbia School and served as a committeeman for Troop 18.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Martin Mellen, whom he married in 1942; sons, Richard Mellen of Elgin, John Mellen of Wisconsin, Mark (Kamela) Mellen of Algonquin and Paul (Cyndy) Mellen of Elgin; daughter, Kathryn Moeck of Michigan; brother, Edward (Sue) Mellen of Elgin; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; three brothers; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday, at the funeral chapel.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Carmen E. Noble of Gurnee
A Mass of the Resurrection for Carmen E. Noble, 65, will be held at noon today, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Road (corner of Hunt Club and Gages Lake Road), Gurnee.
Rev. Farrell Kane will officiate.
Born May 30, 1933, in Belize, Central America, she passed away Thursday, March 25, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Libertyville.
She came to the United States in 1988 and had resided in Gurnee since Sept. 1998, formerly living in Chicago.
She leaves her children, Rosalia Campos, Suad Holder, Nour Rishmawy, Farida Rishmawy, Faud Rishmawy and Farid Rishmawy; grandchildren, Elizabeth Rishmawy, Kathryn Campos, Tara Holder, Donavan Holder and Brevel Holder; sisters, Olga and Trina; and brothers, Andres and Alfredo.
Friends of the family may visit from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass today, at the church.
Arrangements were made by Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., Grayslake.
