Ardella M. Nelson of McHenry
A funeral blessing for Ardella M. Nelson, 74, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at George R. Justen and Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry, with the Rev. Thomas Burr officiating.
Born March 21, 1925, in Stacyville, Iowa, to Joseph and Gertrude (nee Weber) Kloeckner, she died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at the home of her daughter in Des Plaines. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, McHenry.
Mrs. Nelson was raised and educated in McHenry and graduated from McHenry High School. She was a member of the Church of St. Mary in McHenry.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy (Richard) Galli of Des Plaines; son, Steve Nelson of McHenry;grandchildren, Liz, Christine, Michael and Mark Galli; great-granddaughter, Nicole Galli; sister, Marion (Clarence) Wohlert of McHenry; and two brothers, Alex (Gloria) Kloeckner and Ernest Kloeckner, both of McHenry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard Nelson, on April 7, 1988; her son, Michael Nelson; three sisters,Malinda Kloeckner, Alvina Kloeckner and Rosina Wohlert; and a brother, Gilbert Kloeckner.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral blessing at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
Memorials made to Rainbow Hospice, 444 N. Northwest Hwy., Suite 145, Park Ridge, IL 60068, or Masses, would be appreciated by the family.

Fred Ott of Hanover Park
Services for Fred Ott, 60, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Road, (at Stearns Road), Bartlett.
Born Aug. 31, 1938, in Germany, he died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at St. Alexius Medical Center. Burial will be in Bartlett Cemetery.
Mr. Ott retired as an electrician from Northwestern University after 35 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Margarete (nee Leprich); son, Helmut (Nattalie) of Bartlett; daughter, Christine (Mike) Graikowski of Rolling Meadows; mother, Clara; brother, Gerhard (Herta) of Streamwood; sisters, Erika (Hermann) Volltrauer, Erwine (Joe) Volltrauer and Monika (Mike) Knapp; and grandchildren, Jamie and Neal.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leo; and brother, Johann (Hermine) of Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Ervin W. Palluth of Arlington Heights
Services for Ervin W. Palluth, 76, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights.
Born Oct. 21, 1922, in Chicago, he died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at Long Grove Manor. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Palluth retired as vice president of W. W. Grainger in Niles after 34 years of service. He was a World War IIArmy Air Corp veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Edna C. (nee Gehrke); children, Scott P. (Cynthia) Palluth, Claudia J. (Barry) Levin and Karen C. Fillippi; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Louise Przychocki of Streamwood
Services for Louise Przychocki (nee Preto), 54, will begin with prayers at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, at Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Road), Streamwood/Schaumburg, and continue with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Church.
Born July 28, 1944, in Chicago, she died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Hoffman Estates. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Mrs. Przychocki was a resident of Streamwood for 30 years and employed with First Card for more than 20 years.
She was the loving wife of Henry Adam Przychocki; loving mother of Laura (Ed) Bending of Poplar Grove and Michael (Cheri) Przychocki of Elgin; cherished grandmother of Eddie, Amanda and Zachary; loving daughter of Carmella and the late Peter Preto; and dear sister of Mary Vin Valene, Joan Ziebel andJohn Preto. She is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Earl Pykett
Services for Earl Pykett, 67, of Richmond, Ill., for the past eight years, formerly of Prairie View, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday, from K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road, Fox Lake (The Chapel on the Lake), and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 2206 Main St., Spring Grove.
Born Dec. 6, 1931, in Highland Park, to Milton and Marie (nee Proesel) Pykett, he died Thursday, April 1,1999, at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge.
Burial will be in the church cemetery following Mass.
A carpenter by trade, Mr. Pykett was formerly employed with Hoffman Homes in Hoffman Estates and was a member of Carpenters Union Local 250 of Waukegan.
He attended St. Peter's Catholic Church in Spring Grove.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Pykett (nee Reese) of Richmond, whom he married May 22, 1954; daughter, Theresa (Michael) Lattanzio of Richmond; sons, Earl (Patrice) Pykett Jr. of Orland Park, Leslie Pykett of Richmond, Milton Pykett of Richmond, Richard (Christine `Tina') Pykett of Cary and David (Michelle) Pykett of Hoffman Estates; and granddaughter, Krista Pykett of Richmond.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends of the family may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

Thelma Jean Quillman of St. Charles
Funeral services for Thelma Jean Quillman, 77, formerly of Westmont, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at The Christian Church of Clarendon Hills, 5750 South Holmes, Clarendon Hills. Rev. Winston Zastrow and Rev. Titus Solomon will officiate.
Born Oct. 5, 1921, in Alma, Ill., the daughter of Virgil C. and Ida Beatrice (Spitler) Gammon, she died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at home. Burial will be in Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Darien.
Mrs. Quillman was a member of the First Christian Church in Elgin, where her father was a founding member. She was a past member of the Christian Church of Clarendon Hills before moving to St. Charles. Mrs. Quillman volunteered for the Salvation Army `Meals of Wheels' program for many years. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Doris Miller Esser of St. Charles; grandsons, Christopher (Megan) Miller of Batavia and Scott (fiancee Jackie Coull) Miller of St. Charles; great-granddaughter, Morgan Ashlee Miller; and sister-in-law, Vista Elliston of Oak Brook.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles.

Melvin E. Rateike Sr. of Palatine
Services for Melvin E. Rateike Sr., 77, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 200 N. Plum Grove Road, Palatine.
Born June 6, 1921, in Des Plaines, he died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at Lexington Health Care Center, Lake Zurich. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Mr. Rateike led an orchestra, The Melody Whips, in which he played the drums.
He and his orchestra played for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and many different celebrations throughout the years.
He was the beloved husband of Evelyn Rateike (nee Brockmann) of Palatine; loving father of Melvin E. (Deborah) Rateike Jr. of Hackensack, Minn., Patricia (Henry) Diebold of Antioch, Marjorie Eichberger of Arlington, Texas, and Robert Rateike and Donna Heurlin of England; proud grandfather of 10; and great-grandfather of seven. He was also the dear brother of Leonard Rateike of Arlington Heights, and brother-in-law of Ruth Rateike of Des Plaines.
He was preceded in deathby his parents, Ferdinand and Minnie Rateike; his first wife, Irene Rateike (nee Leseberg); and brother, Irving Rateike.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway,Palatine, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at the church.

Jerry T. Rogers of Rolling Meadows
Services for Jerry T. Rogers, 57, of Rolling Meadows, formerly of Bettendorf, Iowa, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at McGinnis, Chambers & Sass Funeral Home, 644 River Drive, Bettendorf.
Born Dec. 22, 1941, in Davenport, Iowa, to Elmer T. and Marguerite R. (nee Mohr) Rogers, he died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, following an extended illness. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
Mr. Rogers had been employed with the public school system in Kildeer.
Survivors include his daughter, Teresa McArthur of Rolling Meadows; two grandsons; and sister, Sherry Ehm of Ankeny, Iowa.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Harry W. Thiel
Services for Harry W. Thiel, 93, of Wilmette, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1334 Wesley Ave., Evanston, where he will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mildred E. Thiel; loving father of John (Kathy) Thiel of Arlington Heights; proud grandfather of Kristin and Megan; dear brother of Gilbert (Gladys) Thiel and the late Esther, Anita and Alvin; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, at Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Blvd. (at Old Orchard Road), Skokie.

Mary C. Vitale of Bloomingdale
Prayers for Mary C. Vitale (nee Cummings) will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, with a chapel service at 11:30 a.m. at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/ Roselle Road), Roselle.
She was the beloved wife of Michael L. Vitale; devoted mother of Mary Beth (Lester) Moe, Michael L. (Stephanie), Christine (John) Ortlund and Joseph (Kelly) Vitale; loving daughter of Margaret Schram and the late Arthur Cummings; dear sister of Margaret Burke, Hugh (Leslie), Patrick (Judy) and the late Arthur Cummings; daughter-in-law of Mary Vitale and the late Louis; fond grandmother of Michael Vitale, John Ortlund and Olivia Moe; and sister-in-law of Ann Marie Vitale.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose life ended too soon.
She will be forever missed and forever in the hearts of all who loved her.
