Mary Johanna deVeze of Antioch
Services for Mary Johanna deVeze, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Strang Funeral Home, 1055 Main St. (Route 83), Antioch. Rev. Lisle J. Kauffman, pastor of Calvary Presbyterian Church of Round Lake, will officiate.
Born Sept. 9, 1918, in Glenwood, Ill., the daughter of Robert J. and Wanda (nee VonMatuszewski) Borrows, she passed away Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center in Lindenhurst. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Antioch.
After living in Wheaton for many years, she moved to Antioch in 1992. She assisted her husband in his machine shop as a bookkeeper and had also been a telephone operator, bank receptionist and vault manager.
She is survived by her son, Richard R. W. (Nancy J.) deVeze of Antioch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. L. deVeze on June 9, 1987, they were married on March 25, 1942; her parents; and sister, Viola Burrows in 1997.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Kate Goodwill Anderson of Elgin
Services and interment for Kate Goodwill Anderson, 22, will be private. Tom Ostrander of Morris Methodist Church, formerly First United Methodist Church in Elgin, will officiate.
She was born Oct. 2, 1976, in Elgin, the daughter of Paul Lawrence Anderson and Mary Ellen Goodwill both of Elgin, and both teachers at U-46 High Schools. Kate, a beloved daughter, sister and friend died suddenly at her home Wednesday, April 7, 1999.
Kate was a native of Elgin graduating from Elgin High School in 1994. She received her B. A. degree from the University of Iowa in 1998.
Survivors include her parents; grandparents, Paul and Betty Anderson of Iowa City; sister, Tracy Grote of Oxford, Iowa; and brother, Peter Warren Zalesky of Algonquin.
She was preceded in deathby her maternal grandparents, Helen and John Goodwill of Chelmsford, Mass.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today, at the Anderson home at 736 Douglas Ave., Elgin.

Ray A. Carlson of St. Charles
Services for Ray A. Carlson, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Geneva Lutheran Church, 301 S. Third St., Geneva. The Rev. Paul Hammar will officiate.
Born July 18, 1918, in Geneva, the son of Iver and Mabel Carlson, he passed away Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Geneva.
Mr. Carlson was an active member of Geneva Lutheran Church and aveteran of World War II. He loved to fish and also enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha; stepson, Marvin (Peggy) Rauhut of Chicago; sister, Jean (Donald) Fitzsimmons of Martinez, Calif.; brother, Robert Carlson of St. Charles; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
He was precededin death by his parents; brother, Norman; and sister, Gertrude Peine.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday,at Yurs Wittenberg Funeral Home, 1771 W. State St. (Route 38), Geneva.

Jeff Coleman of Round Lake Beach
Services for Jeff Coleman, 46, will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake.
Born in Grand Rapids, Mich., he passed away Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at Condell Medical Center. Private interment will be held in Grand Rapids.
Jeff was a proud alumnus of I. I. T. and a fraternity member of Pi Kappa Phi.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Coleman (nee Stach); son, Matthew Coleman; brothers, Brent and Ken Coleman; sister, Tracy Coleman; stepmother, Sandra Coleman; grandparents, Gertrude Coleman and L. Verne Wilson; and best friend, Cody.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon in 1992; mother, Lois in 1965; grandmother, Helen Wilson in 1997; and grandfather, Kenneth Coleman in 1986.
Friends and family may visit from 3 p.m. until the time of the services Sunday, at the funeral chapel.

Ann F. Muldoon Davis longtime resident of Wheaton
Funeral services for Ann F. Muldoon Davis, 91, willbegin at 9:30 a.m. Monday, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton, continuing to St. Michael Church, 315 W. Illinois St., Wheaton, for a 10 a.m. Mass.
Mrs. Davis died Friday, April 9, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery, Winfield.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, Raymond Muldoon; a brother, Leo; and sisters, Helen, Celia, Stella, Victoria and Marie.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

The Rev. Henry Demler of Arlington Heights
Services for the Rev. Henry Demler, 82, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at St. John United Church of Christ, 1445 W. Algonquin Road (at Roselle Road), Palatine.
Born Sept. 1, 1916, in Lincoln, Neb., he died Wednesday, April 7, 1999, in Arlington Heights. Interment will be in Memorial Park, Skokie.
The Rev. Demler was the former pastor of St. John United Church of Christ, where he had served until his retirement in 1979. During his career, he had also served in churches in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Iowa, and, after his retirement, remained a supply pastor in Illinois. He was a 1941 graduate of Moody Bible Institute and had received his master's degree from Chicago Theological Seminary in 1947.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Demler (nee Kinast); daughter, Sharon (George) Lemke; son, Maj. James Demler D. O. of the U. S. Army; grandchildren, Michael (Dana) Lemke, Wendy Demler and Luke (Lisa) Demler; brother, David; and sister, Lydia.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, George, Peter, Mary, Ann, Esther, Ruth, Martha and John.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road (at Northwest Highway), Mount Prospect. He will also lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Monday, at the church.

Irene E. Drinan recently of Wheaton
A memorial service for Irene E. Drinan, 81, a longtime resident of Chicago, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 Carlton Ave., Wheaton.
BornJuly 25, 1917, in Duluth, Minn., she died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Hospice in Elk Grove Village. Interment will be private, in Mount Olive Cemetery, Chicago.
Among her special interests, Mrs. Drinan had been a member of VFW Auxiliary Post 3579 in Park Ridge, St. Andrew Presbyterian Church and Norwood Park Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was later involved at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton where she was active with the Presbyterian Women, the Naomi Circle and the Library Volunteers.
Surviving are her children, Karen (George) Johnson of Schaumburg, Gregory (Susan) Drinan of Wheaton and Deborah (David) Adkins of California; grandchildren, John Mede, Kathleen Trapani, Christopher Mede, Katherine Fleming, David Drinan and Melissa Grube; great-grandchildren, Liane, John, Joseph and Scott; and sister, Edith Gregorie of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert T. Drinan Jr.
Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church Library Fund, 715 N. Carlton Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187.

Patricia A. `Pat' Etzel of Carpentersville
Memorial services for Patricia A. `Pat' Etzel, 73, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, at Trinity United Methodist Church of Carpentersville. The Rev. Robert Baker will officiate.
Born in Ames, Iowa Dec. 3, 1925, the daughter of Lyman and Evalou (nee Ragsdale) Osam, she died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago. Burial will be private.
Mrs. Etzel, a resident of Carpentersville for 36 years, was an active and devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Carpentersville, Dundee Township Senior Citizens Organization, 50+ Club and the Singing Seniors Choir. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, `Pied Piper' and neighborhood chairman with the Sybaquay Council Girl Scouts of America.
Survivors include her son, Doug (Paula) of Santa Margarita, Calif.; three daughters, Paula (Warren) Redmond of South Elgin, Elizabeth (Bill) Landau of Germany and Cheryl (Dean) Liveris of Crystal Lake; 10 grandchildren, Tacy, Steven, Keli, Aaron, Lindsay, Evan, Rachel, Zachary, Ashley and Alex; great-grandson, Thaddeus; one brother, Duane (Dodie) Osam of Little Rock, Ark.; and nephew, Dr. Patrick (Teresa) Osam of Little Rock, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland `Lee' Etzel Dec. 13, 1989, they married Oct. 3, 1947; and her grandson, Jonathan Day, on March 14, 1988.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Carpentersville.

Robert P. Greer of Wheaton for 30 years
Graveside services for Robert P. Greer, 65, will be held Monday at Wheaton Cemetery.
He died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
Mr. Greer was a retired employee of Sears.
He was the beloved husband of Ruth C. (nee Wedereit); loving father of Patricia (Peter) Capela and Elizabeth Greer; devoted grandfather of Stephen and Courtney; and fond brother of Charles (Julie) Greer.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (oneblock east of Naperville Road), Wheaton.

Surviving are her daughters, Lynn (Russell) Slaughter of Coral Gables, Fla., and Carol (Richard) Grelch of St. Charles; sons, Ronald Gregory of Bangor, Maine, Ted (Ruby) Gregory of Green Oaks and Marion Gregory Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren; twobrothers; and three sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Gregory.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
