Jack Ulrey of Long Lake
Services for Jack `the tomato man' Ulrey, 86, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake.
Born Oct. 6, 1912, in Manchester, Ind., he passed away Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
A resident of Long Lake for 58 years, Jack had retired in 1974 from Burlington Northern Railroad after 47 years of employment. He was a member of American Legion Post #703 of Fox Lake for 48 years.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Josephine Ulrey (nee Landowski); daughter, Mary Jo (Frank C.) Vepley; son, Jim S. (June) Ulrey; grandchildren, Frank R. Vepley, Jim S. Ulrey Jr., Jack R. Ulrey, Kurt J. Vepleyand Jessica L. Ulrey; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sue McNear and Benjamin H. Ulrey; and brother, Bud Ulrey.
Friends and family may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral chapel.

Loretta Wolfgram of Batavia
Services for Loretta Wolfgram, 85, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia. Pastor David Naszowitz will officiate.
Born Dec. 19, 1913, in Rock Island, the daughter of Frederick and Virginia (nee Brown) Shaffstall, she passed away Friday, April 9, 1999, at Provena Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora. Burial will be in West Batavia Cemetery, Batavia.
She was a member of Big Woods Congregational Church in Naperville.
Surviving are her daughters, Sandra Amey of Batavia andBillie (Thomas) Tuttle of Palatine; son, William (Cynthia) Wolfgram of Waterford, Wis.; granddaughters, Michele (Nick) Nixon of Naperville, Wendy (Patrick) Doland of Milwaukee, Wis. and Stacy Skenandore of Batavia; grandsons, Paul (Kathy) Ingram of Canton, Mich., Eric (Katie) Ingram of Reno, Nev. and Christopher Wolfgram of Marshalltown, Iowa; great-granddaughter, Sade Nixon of Naperville; and special friend, `Spike'.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Virginia M. Worth formerly of Bellwood
Services for Virginia M. Worth (nee Brenner), 75, most recently of Hoffman Estates, will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a chapel service at 10 a.m. at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Road), Roselle.
Interment will be in Glen Oak Cemetery.
She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Worth; devoted mother of Kathleen (Dave) Brainer, Mary Ellen (Gordon) Schulz and Phyllis (George) Coalson; fond grandmother of seven; and great-grandmother of four.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Maxine I. Zeller of Rolling Meadows
A memorial service for Maxine I. Zeller, 80, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Community Church of Rolling Meadows, 2720 Kirchoff Rd., Rolling Meadows.
Born Aug. 26, 1918, in Indianapolis, Ind., she died Friday, April 9, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights.
She was a retired secretary for High School District 214 with more than 12 years of service. She was a member of the Community Church of Rolling Meadows and the senior center.
She was the wife of the late Charles; mother of Dwight C. (Pam)and Neal D. Zeller; grandmother of Matthew (Elizabeth), Luke and Jacob Zeller; great-grandmother of Alexander Zeller; and sister of Thelma Wilczak and Faye Bledsoe.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Rd., Rolling Meadows.

Joseph J. Puetz
Services for Joseph J. Puetz, 88, will begin at 9:30 Tuesday, from ColonialWojciechowski Funeral Home, 6250 N. Milwaukee, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Cornelius Church. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Mr. Puetz was a past vice president of the Luxembourg Grand Lodge and a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Cornelius Church. He was also a Boy Scout leader for Troop 949.
He was the beloved husband of Florence Puetz (nee Miller); loving father of Marion and James (Susan); devoted grandfather of Melissa, Tracy, Tricia and Timothy; dear great-grandfather of Sam; and dear uncle and friend of many.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

James `Rusty' Akin of West Chicago
Services for James `Rusty' Akin, 33, will begin with prayersat 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at NorrisWalen Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Church, West Chicago. The Rev. Vern Arseneau will officiate.
Born April 22, 1965, in Winfield, he passed away suddenly, Friday, April 9, 1999, at his home. Burial will be in River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia.
A lifelong resident of West Chicago, Mr. Akin attended school at St. Mary's Chicago and graduated in 1984 from Community High School, District 94. He was a veteran of the Army and was employed by A. C. Soto Construction ofElburn.
Surviving are his children, Michelle, Gigola and James Luigi, all of Glen Ellyn; mother, Betty Akin of WestChicago; brother, John Akin of West Chicago; paternal grandparents, John and Pauline Akin of Wylie, Texas; and aunts, Rose Genovesi of West Chicago, Paula Taylor of Colorado and Charlotte Smith of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his father, James W. Akin Sr., in 1981; and maternal grandparents, Juanita and John Smith.

Lois L. Andersen lifelong resident of Elgin
Private family services for Lois L. Andersen, 76, will beheld at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin.
Born Sept. 19, 1922, in Elgin, the daughter of Arne and Lucia Morten Rovelstad, she died Friday, April 9, 1999, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Hoffman Estates.
Burial will be private.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Jerry) Mills of Elgin and Janet Andersen (Doug Williams) of Streamwood; seven grandchildren, Brian Mills, Amberlynne Pyrek, Kristina (Michael) Hein, Gregory Mills, John Pyrek III, Lauren Mills and Tessa Rae Pyrek; and brother, Dr. James M. (Marie) Rovelstad of Racine, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otis, in 1983; and her daughter, Julie Pyrek, in 1989.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Lung Association.

Anthony T. A. Arciola Jr. of Elgin
Services for Anthony T. A. Arciola Jr., 28, formerly of Kansasville, Wis., will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at Windridge Funeral Home, 104 High Rd., Cary.
Pastor Edward Weiss of Faith World Outreach Church of Bartlett will officiate.
Born June 4, 1970, in Chicago, he died Friday, April 9, 1999, at his Elgin home.
Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.
He was employed at Facilitech of Elgin for seven years.
Survivors include his parents, Anthony Arciola Sr. of Chicago and Dawn (Richard) Smagacz of Kansasville; brothers, Robert (Barbara) Arciola of Bartlett and Brandon Arciola of Chicago; sisters, Rene (Mario) Rodriguez of Kansasville and Nicole Arciola of Chicago; and his loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Kenneth E. Chapleau of Naperville
Services for Kenneth E. Chapleau, 79, will begin with a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 26 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.
Born Aug. 30, 1919, in Chicago, the son of George and Alberta Chapleau, he died Saturday, April 10, 1999, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Interment will be in Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Darien.
Kenneth served in the Army during World War II and began a 30-year career at Western Electric, Hawthorn, shortly afterward. He was active with the Hinsdale American Legion and was a member of the Forty and Eight, Naperville VFW Post 3873 and Knights of Columbus. Kenneth enjoyed his lifelong hobbies of jigsaw and word puzzles.
He is survived by his son, Stephen (Judy) Chapleau of Naperville; grandson, Nicholas Chapleau of Naperville; nephews, George Chapleau Sullivan of Peoria and Thomas Chapleau Sullivan of Pittsburgh, Pa.; brother-in-law, Warren (June) Todd of Plymouth, Mich.; sister-in-law, Betty Willig of Taccoa, Ga.; niece, Jennifer Haruta of California; nephews, Thomas Todd of Michigan, William Willig of Georgia and Andrew Willig of Georgia; and numerous dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernice (nee Willig); brother, 2nd Lt. William Chapleau, who was killed at Anzio in 1944; and his infant son.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Margaret `Marge' C. Dawson formerly of Algonquin
Funeral services for Margaret `Marge' C. Dawson, 80, most recently of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Algonquin. The Rev. Michael Tierney will officiate.
Born Dec. 7, 1918, in Joliet, to John W. and Rachael (nee Baskerville) McRoberts, she died Friday, April 9, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. Burial will be in Algonquin Cemetery.
Mrs. Dawson had been a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Algonquin. She was also an honorary life member and past president of the Algonquin Women's Club, Algonquin Garden Club, Eastview Elementary SchoolPTO, Algonquin Founders Day Committee and the Algonquin Business Association of Lake Havasu City. She was an avid bridge player at the senior center and a member of the Elks and the Gem and Mineral Society.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Dawson of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., whom she married June 10, 1940; sons, John (Shirley) Dawson of Mesa, Ariz. and James (Terri) Dawson of Cary; two grandchildren, Tiffany and Thomas Dawson, both of Cary; and nephew, Robert Michael (Catherine Anne) Turley of Joliet.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Theresa Turley.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main St., Algonquin, and from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the church.
Masses in her name to the church, or donations to the American Cancer Society.

Lillian M. Dettloff formerly of Hampshire
Services for Lillian M. Dettloff, 91, of Culver, Ind., will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire, with the Rev. Bill Shaw officiating.
Born Feb. 19, 1908, in Lone Rock, Iowa, to George and Lillian E. (nee Swain) Worthington, she passed away Saturday, April 10, 1999, in Culver, of natural causes. Burial will be held in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
Lillian married Frank P. Dettloff on Oct. 20, 1930, in Geneva. She had been a member of First United Methodist Churchof Hampshire.
Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Karsten of Hampshire and Helen Silvius of Hot Springs, Ark.; son, Daniel Dettloff of Culver; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, Dec. 25, 1965; sisters, Edith, Hulda, Sylvia and Gertude `Jo, ' and brothers, Enos and Hugo.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
