Margaret `Mardi' Cankar of Gurnee
A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret `Mardi' Cankar, 75, formerly of Waukegan, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Patrick Church (new church) in Wadsworth.
Born May 29, 1923, in Cheyenne, Wyo., she died suddenly Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at her home. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, following the Mass.
Mrs. Cankar had lived in Gurnee for the past 30 years. She had worked asa secretary at Beasley Clinic, Spero Motors Oldsmobile and Cadillac Dealership, Fannie May Candies of Waukegan, Kalva Corporation in Waukegan, and Salata Ambulance Service in Gurnee. She had also served as a lunchroom mother at Gurnee Grade School. Mardi was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wadsworth, the Steelworkers Retirees Club and the Women of the Moose.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Joseph Cankar; son, Lloyd Cankar of Gurnee;and daughter, Linda Cankar of Arlington, Texas.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee.

Santo Cerami of Schaumburg
Prayers for Santo Cerami, 90, will be said at 9:30 a.m., with a chapel service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Rd.), Roselle. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
He was the beloved husband of the late Ida (nee DiSilvestro); devoted father of Santo `Sonny' (Debra) and the late Richard (Annie) Cerami; and fond grandfather of many.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral chapel.

Armond B. `Craig' Craven of Itasca
A prayer service for Armond B. `Craig' Craven, 71, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 E. Irving Park Rd., Itasca.
Mr. Craven passed away Sunday, April 11, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Hospice House. Interment will be private.
He was the husband of the lateAldine (nee Galloni); father of Jeffery (Melody) of Itasca, Joanne (Robert) Edwards and Jeanne (Frederic) Clausen;and grandfather of Jennifer, Thomas, Lori, Jacquelyn, Kimberly, James, Amy and Emily.
Memorial visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

Johanna A. `Jo' Dagenais lifelong resident of Naperville
Funeral services for Johanna A. `Jo' Dagenais, 86, will be held at 2 p.m. today, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 21 E. Franklin, Naperville, with the Revs. John M. Gillham and Duane Mevis officiating.
Born March 22, 1913, in Naperville, she died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at her home.
Interment will be in Naperville Cemetery.
Mrs. Dagenais was a member of the Naperville Woman's Club and Naperville Garden Club. She had been a member of Wesley United Methodist Church since 1941, and was a member of the Lydia Circle, Church Women United and United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer A. Dagenais, whom she married July 1, 1939; son, Douglas (Christine) Dagenais of Winfield; six daughters, Donna Dagenais of Palo Alto, Calif., Judy Ann Dagenais of Naperville, JoAnn (Russell) Kolkay of Naperville, Marlene (Bernard) Kiefer of Nashville, Tenn., Deborah (William) Longer of Hobart, Ind. and Carole (Alan) Christensen of Naperville; two sisters, Min Steininger and Clem Matter, both of Naperville; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Amelia (nee Nargang) Haman and by her sister, Eva Bauman.
Memorials in Mrs. Dagenais' name may be made to the Wesley Scholarship Fund.
Arrangements were made by Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, Naperville.

Joseph C. Dellacqua of Elk Grove Village
Services for Joseph C. Dellacqua, 88, will begin with chapelprayers at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road (three blocks south of Biesterfield Road), Elk Grove Village, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m. at Queen of the Rosary Church, 680 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove Village.
Born in Italy, he died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Elk Grove Village. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Mr. Dellacqua was a residentof Elk Grove Village for 27 years and was retired from the Illinois Tollway.
He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn R. Dellacqua (nee Templin), who preceded him in 1998; loving father of Jerrold (Barbara) Dellacqua, Richard (Eileen) Dellacqua, Barbara Vogt and Leona (James) Robinson; proud grandfather of Christopher, Dale, Bradley, Gina and Tony Dellacqua, Bryan Vogt and Brett and Andy Robinson; great-grandfather of Ryan, Chelsey, Zachary and Agosto; and dear brother of Maria Castellano of Italy and the late Lena Bravieri.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral chapel.

Lucille R. `Babs' Doherty of Arlington Heights
Prayers for Lucille R. Doherty (nee Whelan), 95, will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, and continue with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 432 Park St., Arlington Heights.
Born Nov. 1, 1903, in Oak Park, she died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at ManorCare Health Center, Rolling Meadows. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hillside.
Mrs. Doherty was a longtime resident of Oak Park and had worked at Marshall Field's for 28 years. She had also worked for Amling's Flowerland for 10 years.
Since 1977 she had been a resident of Arlington Heights and a member of the Our Lady of the Wayside Young at Hearts Club and the St. James Friendship Club.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Lattan and the late James E. Doherty; loving mother of Patricia (Robert) Lowe of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and James E. (Therese) Doherty of Arlington Heights; cherished grandmother of nine; great-grandmother of 19; and great-great-grandmother of one.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Masses or contributions to the Ashton Lowe Medical Expense Fund (great-grandson, who is suffering from cancer), c/o the funeral home, would be appreciated.

William L. Donovan Jr. of Libertyville
Services for William L. Donovan Jr., 61, will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville. A memorial Mass in Polish will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, at St. Constance Parish, 5843 W. Strong, Chicago.
Born Dec. 25, 1937, in Melrose Park, he passed away Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at Lake Forest Hospital.
Mr. Donovan had been a Libertyville resident for the past 27 years. He was a chemical engineer and had received his bachelor of science and master of science degrees from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Mr. Donovan was the director ofcompliance operations in the Pharmaceutical Products Division of Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago and was an active member of the American Society of Quality Control. He also loved classical music and was a `super' with the Lyric Opera in Chicago.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine Sherry Donovan of Libertyville; sons, William L. (Barbara) Donovan III of Park Ridge and David Donovan of Rochester, Minn.; and grandchildren, Jack and Katherine Donovan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Genevieve Donovan.
Friends of the family may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home, with services at 7 p.m.

Anna Marie Gedbaw of Des Plaines
Services for Anna Marie Gedbaw (nee Shoen) of Des Plaines will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.
Born Jan. 17, 1928, in Potsdam, N. Y., she died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at Holy Family Hospital. Burial will be in Fort Sheridan Cemetery.
Mrs. Gedbaw was a retired factory supervisor for Acco, located in Chicago.
She was the wife of Ralph; mother of Jean (the late Ernest) Russell of Fairchild, Wis. and Tammy Jankiewicz of Romeoville; sister of Ruth Sprigs and Eileen Shoen of Ogdensburg, N. Y. and Helen (Clayton) Trumbly of Rensselger Falls, N. Y. and the late George, Aletha and Emma Jean Shoen; grandmother of Tim and Jessica; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Violet Hayes formerly of Lombard
Prayers for Violet Hayes (nee Romanauskas), 85, of Winfield, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church. Rev. Herbert Essig will officiate.
Mrs. Hayes died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, Winfield.
She was a 38-year Lombard resident.
She issurvived by her sons, Ronald (Kathleen) of North Carolina and Ralph (Patricia) of Herrin, Ill.; daughter, JoAnne Langeler of Winfield; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Edward (Rita) Budvidas of Naperville.
Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband, Carl G.; and son, Richard.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Eve S. Johnson of Campton Township
The family of Evelyn Steinbeck Johnson will hold a gathering of friends and family from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at Garfield Farm Museum in Campton Township.
Eve, born Aug. 6, 1922, near Cunningham, Ky., died at her Campton home on April 2, 1999. Founder of Garfield Farm Museum, land trust Campton Historic Agricultural Lands, and Restorations of Kane County, and a board member of Campbell Center Restoration - College Association of Mount Carroll, Ill., she had worked with dozens of regional historic preservation efforts in spite of a 27-year fight with breast cancer.
A 1942 bachelor of science graduate of Murray State University, she taught school and later joined the war effort, manufacturing TNT. In 1946 she married Martin E. Johnson of rural Elburn. She worked through the 1950s at the Little Traveler in Geneva. In 1992 Mrs. Johnson was designated the Distinguished Illinois Preservationist by the Landmark Preservation Council of Illinois. She was an active member of the Thornapple Questers chapter and the Pottawatomie Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry MadisonSteinbeck and Annye Choice Moyers Steinbeck; in-laws, A. Martin and Anna Peterson Johnson; brother, Stanford Steinbeck; and sisters-in-law, Eloise Bragg Steinbeck and Therese Pobutsky Steinbeck.
Surviving are her husband, Martin E. Johnson; daughter, Ceil `Chris' Choice Johnson; son, Jerome Martin Johnson; daughter-in-law, Ann Brack Johnson; brother, Julyn G. Steinbeck of Bardwell, Ky.; and niece, Wanda Marie Steinbeck, also of Bardwell.
Eve's ashes will be scattered in Illinois and Kentucky. Memorials in her name may be made to Garfield Farm Museum.

Marian Katzmarek of Elk Grove Village
Services for Marian Katzmarek (nee DiGiovanni), 85, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Rd. (three blocks south of Biesterfield Rd.), Elk Grove Village.
Born in Chicago, she died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at ManorCare Nursing Center. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
She was a 23-year resident of Elk Grove Village and a 30-year employee of J. P. Seeberg Corporation before her retirement.
She was the sister of John L. (Frances) DiGiovanniand the late Michael T. and Joseph DiGiovanni; and aunt of many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral chapel.
