William Walter Leska
A funeral Mass for William Walter Leska, 66, of Henderson, Nev., will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Gilbert's Chapel, Grayslake.
Born Oct. 6, 1932, in Chicago, he passed away Wednesday, April 14, 1999, in Nevada. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
A paratrooper, he was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired in 1986 after 30 years of service with Illinois Bell/AT&T, where he was employed as a large systems technician. He was a former vice president of the Twilight Twirlers Square Dance Club in Florida and active in promoting organ donation with LifeLink.
Survivors include his wife, Marion; children, William (Dorothy) Leska, Catherine (Michael) Latza and Michael (Diane) Leska; stepchildren, Terrence (Mary Ann) Carden and Andrea (Jeffrey) Kithianis; mother, Florence Leska (nee Kempinski); brothers, Michael (Maria) Leska and George (Margaret) Leska; grandchildren, Heather, Adam, Matt, Julia, Rachael, Andrew, Anne Marie, Coralie and Stavros; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Frank Leska.
Friends of the family may visit from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake.
Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be directed to support organ donation/transplantation.

Theodore J. Mlsna of Wheaton for 33 years
Funeral Mass for Theodore J. Mlsna, 65, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Irene Church (please meet at church).
Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery.
Mr. Mlsna was the director of information services at Mercy Hospital in Chicago for 17 years before retiring in 1995. He was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.
He was the beloved husband of Joanne `Kit' (nee Voldan); loving father of Mark (Jackie), Matt (Linda), Ross (Crystal), Alicia and Reid Mlsna; dear grandfather of Lucas, Roxanne, Sarah, Eric and Rachel; fond brother of Marilyn (James) Morahan and the late Michael Mlsna; and dear brother-in-law of Mary Voldan.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palos Community Hospital Hospice, 15295 E. 127th St., Lemont, IL 60439, or St. Irene Church, 28W451 Warrenville Road, Warrenville, IL 60555.

Bridget Pakula of Naperville since 1978
Funeral services for Bridget Pakula (nee Lacey), 69, formerlyof Addison, will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 117 W. Van Buren, Naperville, and continue to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial.
Born May 24, 1929, in Chicago, she died Friday, April 16, 1999, at her home. A committal service will take place in the chapel of Calvary Cemetery, Evanston, at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Pakula was a homemaker and member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond; two sons, Jeffrey of Chicago and Gary (Laurie) of Decatur, Ill.; one granddaughter, Claire Pakula of Decatur; two brothers, Bill (Mickey) Lacey of North Riverside and Jim (Laurie) Lacey of Naperville; two sisters, Peggy Wishney of Streamwood and Mary Anne Lacey of Addison; and mother-in-law, Lottie Pakula of Naperville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Nellie (nee Broderick) Lacey; brother, Edward Lacey; father-inlaw, Stanley Paukula; and brother-in-law, John Wishney.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Memorials in Mrs. Pakula's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 999 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137; or Illinois Special Olympics, 605 E. Willow St., Normal, IL 61761-2682.

Max `Poppy' Parnell
Memorial services for Max `Poppy' Parnell, 67, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Round Lake. The Rev. Lisle Kauffman will officiate.
Born Oct. 23, 1931, in Lake City, Ark., he passed away Sunday, April 11, 1999, at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry, after battling manyillnesses.
Max was loved by many, including the nurses who cared for him. He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Round Lake.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Parnell, whom he married in 1976; son, Michael (Beth) Nickels-Wisdom; daughters, McGuffy Ann (William) Morris and Candace Jean (Rogelio) Roman; and grandchildren, Gwendolyn Teresa Morris, Rosalinda Roman, Rogelio `Boomer' Roman Jr., Valentine Lexie Roman, Michael Elias Roman, and Lily Anna Roman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Walter Parnell; and granddaughter, Dulce Jean Roman.
Inlieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Calvary Presbyterian Church, 510 N. Cedar Lake Road, Round Lake, IL 60073.
Arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Ltd., Grayslake.

Lillian L. Payes of Barrington
Memorial services for Lillian L. Payes (nee Langhamer), 87, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine.
Born May 5, 1911, in Chicago, she died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at Good Shepherd Hospital. Interment will be private.
Mrs. Payes had assisted her husband, William, in his positions as president of the Builders Chicago Corporation, director of public works for the State of Illinois, and chairman of the Citizens for Kennedy-Johnson committee. She was also the past president of the Women's Auxiliary of Medinah Temple and a member of the Chicago Civic Opera, the Chicago Symphony and the Art Institute of Chicago.
She was the beloved wife of the late William Payes Jr.; loving mother of Joanne Barrett, Penney (Gary) Lowmiller and the late William J. Payes III; cherished grandmother of 12; and great-grandmother of 14.
Memorials may be made to the Countryside Association for the Handicapped, 21154 W. Shirley Road, Palatine, IL 60074, or to the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Joseph A. Reising of Mount Prospect
A funeral Mass for Joseph A. Reising, 81, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Raymond Church, Elmhurst Road (Route 83) and Lincoln Street, Mount Prospect.
Born April 18, 1917, in Aurora, he died Friday, April 16, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights.
Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
A World War II veteran, Mr. Reising had served as a lieutenant inthe Navy in Washington, D. C., and Pearl Harbor and was a member of the Naval Reserve and the Retired Officers Association. He was a retired sales manager for Eaton Manufacturing Company. Among his other accomplishments, Mr. Reising had been an All-American basketball player at the University of Southern California in 1941 and was the founder of Mount Prospect Federal Savings and Loan.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine Reising (nee Ferstel); sons, Joseph A. Jr., William G. (Mary) and Donald E. (Marie) Reising; daughter, Lauretta M. (Bruce) Letten; grandchildren, Claire, Will, John, Julie, Diana and Joseph Reising, and Matthew, Michael, Timothy and James Letten; brother, Richard Reising; and sister, Rosalie Kidd.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Valentine Reising.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road (at Northwest Highway), Mount Prospect, and from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the church.
Memorials to the Arthritis Foundation would be appreciated.

Josephine M. Rickert of Naperville
Services for Josephine M. Rickert, 90, formerly of Chicago, will be held at 9:30 a.m. today, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. The Rev. Gregory Rothfuchs will officiate.
Born July 1, 1908, in Chicago, she died suddenly Friday, April 16, 1999, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Interment will be in Naperville Cemetery.
Mrs. Rickert was born and raised on Chicago's West Side. She married Helmuth O. Rickert on Jan. 29, 1938, and they moved to Naperville. Primarily a homemaker, she was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Naperville, the Rebekah Lodge and The Homemaker's Extension of the University of Illinois.
Survivors include her daughter, Rosemary Rickert of Naperville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975; parents, Dominic and Rosina (nee Quirino) Mattiaccio; and sister, Esther Sheehan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Rickert's name may be made to a charity of donor's choice.

Joan A. Rogers
A memorial Mass for Joan A. Rogers (nee Almquist), 79, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Transfiguration Church, 310 W. Mill St., Wauconda.
Born June 10, 1919, in Naugatuck, Conn., she died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at home. Burial will be private.
A member of Transfiguration Church, she was preceded in death by her husband, Judson Rogers, and is survived by her children, Paul, Holly, Mark and Penny; and granddaughter, Kelly.
A memorial gathering will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass Saturday, in the vestibule of the church.
Memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
Arrangements were made by Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, Wauconda.

Alfred J. Rosauer of Palatine
A funeral Mass for Alfred J. Rosauer, 70, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Colette Church.
Born Jan. 16, 1929, in Chicago, he died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at his home. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Mr. Rosauer was the former owner of the J. Rosauer & Son Decorating Company. A veteran, he had served during the Korean War.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret E. Rosauer (nee Miehle); loving father of James G., Debora G., and Joseph G. Rosauer; and dear brother of Bernard (Judy) Rosauer and the late Elmer (Josephine) Rosauer.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Services for Mae Rose, 87, of Antioch, formerly of Elmhurst, will be held at 11 a.m. today, at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.
Born Oct. 31, 1911, in Chicago, she died Friday, April 16, 1999, at home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace.
Survivors include her son, Ray (Florence) Rose of Palatine; grandchildren, Mark (Mary) Rose of Glen Ellyn and Michelle Rose of Crystal Lake; sister, Agnes Rowland of Franklin, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Edward H. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
