Spencer R. Griffiths Jr. of Wheaton
Memorial services for Spencer R. Griffiths Jr., 83, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton.
Born April 8, 1916, in Chicago, he died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield.
Interment will be private.
Mr. Griffiths had been a resident of Wheaton for 15 years and previously had livedin Park Ridge for 35 years. He had worked as a sales engineer for Central Steel and Wire Company of Chicago. A member of Wheaton Community Radio Amateurs, Mr. Griffiths' personal call letters were W9HZM.
He was the beloved husband of Lorene Griffiths (nee Lund); loving father of Gail (Erick) Peterson and William (Rita) Griffiths; devoted grandfather of Katie and Carrie Peterson; fond brother of George (the late Beth) Griffiths; and dear uncle of Lee Paul and Lynne Allen.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Andrew (Andy) David Hartwig of Barrington
Services for Andrew (Andy) David Hartwig, 20, will be held at 11 a.m. today, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 720 S. Dundee Ave., Barrington. He will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Reverend John Hartwig and Reverend Gerald Schalk will officiate.
Born Dec. 13, 1978, in Park Ridge, he passed away Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn. Burial will be in White Cemetery, Barrington.
Andy was a sophomore at the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana, studying history education. He was an honor student at the University and made the Dean's list every semester. He graduated from Barrington High School in 1997, where he was a member of the soccer and baseball teams. Andy loved music and played the bass guitar. He was a founding member of the Creepers Jazz Band. Andy was also a member of St.
Matthew Lutheran Church, and his interests included cycling, running and writing.
Survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Jill Hartwigof Barrington; paternal grandparents, Floyd (Bill) and Evelyn Hartwig of Crystal Lake; maternal grandparents, Daveand Betty Hartley of Downers Grove; aunt, Julie (Gary) Nass of Naperville; uncles, Reverend John (Natalie) Hartwigof Salem, Va. and Bill (Nancy) Hartwig of Woodstock; six first cousins; many great-aunts, uncles and cousins; and his dog, Spike.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Andrew Hartwig Memorial Music Scholarship Fund, attn: Christine M. Sherman, Barrington Bank and Trust Company, N. A., 201 S. Hough St., Barrington, IL 60010.

Rose Krusbe of Elgin
Funeral services for Rose Krusbe, 80, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin.
Born Nov. 28, 1918 in Chicago, the daughter of Arthur and Hermine York, she passed away Friday, April 23, 1999.
Interment will be private.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; two daughters, Ruth (Jerry) Pool of California and Carole (Jim) Bracher of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Winnie Inez Lee of Naperville
Funeral services for Winnie Inez Lee, 96, of Naperville, will be private.
Born July 17, 1902, in Ashland, N. C., she died Friday, April 23, 1999, at ManorCare Nursing Center, Naperville. Interment will be private.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Lee was a self-employed beauty operator.
There are no immediate survivors.

James D. Lehning of Elk Grove Village
Services for James D. Lehning, 62, will begin with chapel prayers at 9:30 a.m. Monday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road (three blocks south of Biesterfield Road), Elk Grove Village, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at Queen of the Rosary Church.
Born in Chicago, he died Thursday, April 22, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Hospice House, Elk Grove Village. Interment will be in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles.
Mr. Lehning had been a resident of Elk Grove Village for 21 years and was employed as a driver for Continental Express Lines.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia J. Lehning (nee Gandor); loving father of Richard A. (Frances) Lehning, Denise L. (Mark) Gaggiano and Cynthia A. Lehning; proud grandfather of Anthony, Stephen and Sean; and dear brother of Ernest, Thomas, Michael, Elizabeth, Cheryl and the late Robert.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral chapel.

Keith F. Macdonald of Grayslake
Services for Keith F. Macdonald, 60, will be held at 3 p.m. today, at the United Protestant Church, Park and Whitney Sts., Grayslake, (847) 223-8131.
Born July 5, 1938, in Evanston, he passed away Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Interment will be private.
A 27-year resident of Grayslake, he was a proud veteran of the Air Force and an employee of Fohrman Auto Dealership in Waukegan.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (nee Kaluzny); sons, Keith Macdonald and Kevin Macdonald; grandchildren, Keith `KJ', Kari Anne and William Macdonald; and sisters, Karen Daley, Sandy (Padget) McGuire and Bonnie Macdonald.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Lois Macdonald; sister, Shirley Slusser; and brother, Bruce Macdonald.
Friends and family may visit from 2 p.m. until the time of the services today at the church.

Irvin H. Nicklas of Mount Prospect
Services for Irvin H. Nicklas will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 S. School St., Mount Prospect, where he will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Mr. Nicklas was a member of Decalogue Lodge #160 A. F. & A. M., Medinah Temple, and the Oriental Band.
He was the beloved husband of Dona Nicklas (nee Dalton); loving father of Barbara (Donald) Roberts, Robyn (Ken) Kilberger, Shannon Nicklas, Robert (Candi) Vercruysse, Ronald Vercruysse, and Timothy (Laura) Vercruysse; proud grandfather of Brandon, Bridget, Casey, Aisha, Bryce, Christian, Morgan, Nikki, Kendall, Dominic and Jack; and brother of David (Carol) Nicklas, Virginia Hawkinson, Michael (Darlene) Oblak, Blake (Angela) Oblak, Pamela Oblak, Stanley (Judy) Oblak, Debbie Oblak and the late Donna (Lee) Bier and William Oblak.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Road, Mount Prospect, with Masonic services at 8 p.m.

Memorial services for Marion E. Olsen (nee Gabrielson), 75, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Community Protestant Church, 418 N. Prairie Ave., Mundelein.

Born Jan. 5, 1924, in Chicago, she died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at home.
A 25-year resident of Mundelein, she was a member of the Mundelein Senior Center and the Community Protestant Church. She was an avid pinochle player and was formerly employed by Kakenmaster Associates in Libertyville and Kemper Insurance in Long Grove.
Survivors include her children, Robert Olsen of Vernon Hills, Gail (Dennis) Nickelsen of Mundelein and Gary Olsen of Mundelein; grandchildren, Robert Olsen of Waukegan, Jenny Olsen of Waukegan, Christy (Eric) Hooshmandi of Mundelein, Lynn (Randy) Merritt of Round Lake, Jon Hopkins of Mundelein, Josh Hopkins of San Diego, Calif. and Raymond Hopkins of Waukegan; and great-grandchildren, Jake and Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Olsen; and daughter, Jeanne Hopkins.

Joleen Sleeman of South Elgin
Private funeral services were held for Joleen Sleeman, 70, of South Elgin.
Born Sept. 27, 1928, in Elgin, to Joseph and Lydia Zito, she died Thursday, April 22, 1999, at ManorCare in Elgin. Burial was private, in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Sleeman had been a resident of South Elgin for the past 42 years. She was employed as a waitress and also took care of children. Joleen was a member of the Baptist Church of South Elgin.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Sleeman; son, Terry Melahn of Arkansas; daughters, Pamela (Steve) Jorgensen of Elgin and Evaughn (Joe) Hackett of Wasco, Ill.; grandchildren, Jim Timze of Elgin, Kelly Forbes of Elgin, Leon Krueger of South Elgin, Stepanie Melahn of DeKalb and Dough Melahn of Elgin; great-grandsons, Jimmy and Blake Timze; mother, Lydia Moore of Elgin; and brother, Robert Zito of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Zito.
