Dorothy E. Rockar of Libertyville for 28 years
A memorial service for Dorothy E. Rockar, 77, formerlyof Lake Forest, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville.
Born Nov. 8, 1921, in Chicago, she passed away Saturday, April 24, 1999, at her home.
Dorothy had been an employee of Period Homes Architectural Firm in Lake Forest. She was also a former advertising copywriter and layout artist, and had been a writer and editor for the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.
Surviving are her husband of 46 years, William Rockar; two children, Andrea Kent of Gaithersburg, Md. and Douglas Rockar of Libertyville; two grandchildren, Victoria and Edwin Kent; and her sister, Claudia Carroll.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dorothy Rockar Memorial Fund at Chicago Botanic Gardens, 1000 Lake-Cook Road, Glencoe, IL 60022.

Joan K. Roets of Batavia
Memorial services for Joan K. Roets will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at the Congregational Church in Batavia.
The Rev. David Foxgrover will officiate.
Born in Belleville, the daughter of Clarence and Gladius (nee Shaw) Kias, she passed away Sunday, April 25, 1999, at her home.
Joan was a member of the Batavia Womens Club and its fine arts club. She devoted a great deal of time to volunteer work. On Sept. 24, 1955, she was united in marriage to Francis Walton Roets.
She is survived by one daughter, Robin (Resse) Peek of Naperville; one stepdaughter, Patricia (James) Dorband of Skokie; three stepsons, Peter James (Heather) Roets of Encino, Calif., Robert (Eleanor) Roets of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Myron Roets, also of Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren; one brother, Michael (Susan) Kias of Indianapolis, Ind.; and one sister, Kay (Irving) Waltman of Miami, Fla.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, Highland Square Suite G-1 222 E. State St., Rockford, IL 61104.
Local arrangements were made by Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home, Batavia.

Dean H. Sunderman of Elgin
Private family services for Dean H. Sunderman, 76, were held at Laird Funeral Home in Elgin.
Born Dec. 27, 1922, in Bible Grove, Ill., to Orville and Vera (nee Specht) Sunderman, he died Sunday, April 25, 1999, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin, following a brief illness. Burial will be private.
A resident of Elgin for most of his life, Mr. Sunderman was a 1942 graduate of Elgin High School and had been employed by School District U-46 for 18 years before retiring. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Merchant Marines. Among his special interests, he was a member of the Kishwaukee Archers of Sycamore and was also an avid artist.
Surviving are his wife, Delores J. Sunderman (nee Anderson), whom he married Aug. 28, 1948; sons, Terry Dean (Nancy) Sunderman of Elgin and Kevin Scott (Judy) Sunderman of Albuquerque, N. M.; grandchildren, Heather Marie and Dean Murray Sunderman, both of Albuquerque; sister, Rose Marie Walsh of St. Charles; brothers, Louie (Christine) Sunderman of Sacramento, Calif., and Doyne (Jane) Sunderman of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or to Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin.

Mary Ellen Taylor (nee Caldwell), 49, of Grayslake, died Friday, April 23, 1999. Arrangements were made by StrangFuneral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., Grayslake, (847) 223-8122.

Kezia E. Thompson (nee Enzenbacher), 78, of Villa Park, died Monday, April 26, 1999. Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, Villa Park, (630) 832-4161.

Beverly A. Tolli of Libertyville
A memorial Mass for Beverly A. Tolli, 54, will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple, Libertyville.
Born May 3, 1944, in Chicago, she passed away Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at her home.
Mrs. Tolli was a 1962 graduate of Maine West High School in Des Plaines. A member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville, she served on the Guild of the Blessed Virgin Mary and participated in the church Bible study group. She was also an avid quilter as well as a member of the Auxiliary of Condell Medical Center.
Surviving are her husband, Dr. Ernest Tolli; her children, Dominic M. Tolli of Libertyville, Gene V. Tolli of Madison, Wis., and Carin E. Tolli of Libertyville; and her parents, Michael and Annabelle Gallichio of Vernon Hills.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Larsen, in 1978.
Friends of the family may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville.
Memorial contributions for Breast Cancer Research at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center would be appreciated.

Walter A. Townsend, 68, a 25-year resident of Wheaton, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999. Arrangements were made by WilliamsKampp Funeral Home, Wheaton, (630) 668-0016.

Mark S. Walter of Wauconda
Services for Mark S. Walter, 40, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Federated Church of Wauconda, 200 S. Barrington Rd., Wauconda.
Born Nov. 28, 1958, in Atlanta, Ga., he died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. Burial will be private.
A 29-year resident of Wauconda, he was a 1976 graduate of Wauconda High School. He received his associate's degree in accounting from College of Lake County. He was a member of the church.
Preceded in death by his parents, Verlene and J. William Walter, he is survived by his brothers, John William Jr. (Linda), James Sidney and Matthew Lee (Laurie); grandmother, Osia Mae Stone; nephews, Steven Grant, Christopher John and Lucas Carl; and cousins, Debra Williams and Lindy Head.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday, at the church.

Raymond H. Werner formerly of Palatine
Services for Raymond H. Werner, 69, a resident of McHenry for more than 10 years and formerly of Palatine, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palatine.
Born July 20, 1929, in Chicago, to William and Hattie (nee Lippert) Werner, he died Monday, April 26, 1999, at his home.
Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Mr. Werner had worked for Pinkerton Security for 27 years. During that time he had also worked as a lathe operator and grinder at the Hoffman Company in Mundelein for more than 20 years. A veteran, he had served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 911 in Wauconda.
Surviving are his sisters, Dorothy (Raymond) Larsen of Wauconda and Marie(Raymond) Jannusch of Palatine; niece, Shirley Cerer of McHenry; and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alma Werner, Dec. 23, 1988; sisters, Emma Harting and Florence Finger; and brother, Edward Werner.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. today, at the church.
Memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Algie Woods, 58, of Carpentersville, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. Arrangements were made by Laird Funeral Home, West Dundee, (847) 836-8770.

David Zaragoza of McHenry
Services for David Zaragoza, 27, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green St., McHenry. The Rev. Roger Schneider will officiate.
Born July 25, 1971, in Chicago, to Aurelio I. and Norma (nee Ramos) Zaragoza, he died Monday, April 26, 1999, at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, McHenry.
Formerly a resident of DuPage County, Mr. Zaragoza had lived in McHenry for two years. He was a 1990 graduate of Glenbard North High School and served in the Navy during the Persian Gulf Conflict. He then worked for the Sony Corporation in Addison in shippingand receiving. Most recently he was employed as an underwriter for West American Mortgage Company.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Zaragoza (nee Davenport), whom he married Feb. 28, 1999, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in McHenry; daughter, Rebecca; mother and stepfather, Norma and Greg Sauchuk of McHenry; father and stepmother, Aurelio and Vicky Zaragoza of Chicago; brother, Alex Zaragoza; maternal grandparents, Ismael Ramos of Puerto Rico and Isabel (Raymond) Gonzalez of Crystal Lake; four aunts; four uncles; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 7 p.m. today, at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at the church.
Memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Carl Zeffiro, 71, of Addison, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. Arrangements were made by Humes Funeral Home, Addison, (630) 628-8808.

Karel Zgrabljic of Mount Prospect
Prayers for Karel Zgrabljic, 78, will be held at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Road, Mount Prospect, followed by a funeral Mass at noon at St. Thomas Becket Church, 1321 Burning Bush Lane, Mount Prospect.
Born June 15, 1920, in Croatia, he died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at his home.
Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Mr. Zgrabljic was a retired pipefitter andmember of Pipefitters Local #597.
He is survived by his wife, Sabina; son, Drago (Barbara) Zgrabljic and daughter, Zlatka Pavlovic; and grandchildren, Christopher, Alex and Robert Pavlovic and Karina Zgrabljic.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Apolonia M. Adams of Niles
Funeral services for Apolonia M. Adams (nee Juszkiewic), 78, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Juliana Church, Chicago.
Born Feb. 8, 1921, in Chicago, she died Tuesday, April 27, 1999, at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
Mrs. Adams was a floral designer at Haberkamp's Florist. She was an active member of St. Juliana Parish and president of Philharmonia Choir.
She was the wife of Stephen H. Adams; mother of Steve T., Phillip (Gloria) and Arlene (Edward) Juracek; sister of the late John and Alexander Juszkiewicz and Antoinette Gniadek; and grandmother of Grant, Andrea and Robert.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles.

Maria Kaczmarek Aydt of Elgin
Services for Maria Kaczmarek Aydt, 74, of Willow Lakes Estates in Elgin, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. The Rev. Richard Russo will officiate.
Born Aug. 12, 1924, in Germany, she died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Burial will be private, in St. John's Cemetery, Dahlgren, Ill.
Mrs. Aydt had been a resident of Elgin since 1985. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a supervisor for the Florsheim Shoe Company. Afterwards she continued to work part time for K-40 Electronics. She attended St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Aydt, whom she just recently married; stepson, Jim (Mary) Aydt of Elgin; stepgrandsons, Michael, Stephen and Peter Aydt; and one cousin in Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Frank Kaczmarek.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 4 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

George O. Bedard Sr., 84, of Lombard, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. Arrangements were made by Brust Funeral Home, Lombard, (630) 629-0094.

Erling R. Berg of Elgin
Services for Erling R. Berg, 84, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin. The Rev. Paul C. Meyers will officiate.
Born April 27, 1915, in Chicago, to John and Hilda (nee Hansen) Berg, he died Tuesday, April 27, 1999, at Sherman West Court, Elgin. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Chicago.
Mr. Berg had been a resident of Elgin for the past 17 years. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, now Cornerstone United Methodist Church of Plato Center, and served on various committees when he was still active. A 1937 graduate of the University of Illinois, he worked as an accountant at the Crane Company in Chicago for many years and retired from a position with the State of Illinois. During World War II he was in the 82nd Airborne Division where he served in the office of judge advocate. A Mason, he was a member of Masonic Lodge Monitor Lounsburg #522.
Surviving are his wife, Jeannette Berg (nee Gilbertsen), whom he married Aug. 30, 1941; daughters, Susan (Terry) Maulding of Streamwood and Nancy (David) Miller of Rockford, Iowa; grandchildren, Jon, Jill and Anne Maulding, and Kyle and Tim Miller; and sister, Helen (Bill) Laise of Louisville, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Roff Berg.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral chapel.
Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Church or to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.
