Anthony S. Tangorra of Lake Bluff
A funeral Mass for Anthony S. Tangorra, 80, will be held at 10 a. m. Tuesday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple, Libertyville.
Born March 24, 1918, in Chicago, he died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Entombment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
Retired from Deerpath School in Lake Forest, he was a member of Mundelein American Legion and served in the Army during World War II.
He was the husband of 53 years of Angela; father of Michael (Debbie) Tangorra of Libertyville; brother of Nick (Lucy) Tangorra of Mundelein; and grandfather of Mike, Philip and Launa.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p. m. today, at McMurrough Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville.

Shirley R. Tomasello formerly of Des Plaines
Services for Shirley R. Tomasello (nee Thomas), 78, willbe held at 11 a. m. Wednesday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.
Born July 16, 1920, in Chicago, she died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at the Loving Care Living Facility in St. Augustine, Fla. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Chicago.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Tomasello was a retail manager for the Lutheran General Hospital Thrift Shop in Des Plaines. She had moved to Jacksonville, Fla., in 1995.
She was the beloved wife of the late John C. Tomasello; loving mother of Don L. (Elayne) Tomasello of Jacksonville; cherished grandmother of Mathew J. Tomasello; and dear sister of Doloris (James) Kinnard of Elk Grove Village.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p. m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

Ruth Elizabeth Wagner of Elgin
Services for Ruth Elizabeth Wagner, 80, will be held at 11:30 a. m. Tuesday, at Epworth United Methodist Church, Elgin. The Rev. Dr. Thomas Potenza will officiate.
Born Sept. 12, 1918, in Elgin, to Charles and Norma Blish, she died peacefully, Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at the home of her son, Charles, after a short battle with cancer. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemtery.
Mrs. Wagner was a lifelong resident of Elgin and a charter member of the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. She was an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church of Elgin and enjoyed baking, sewing, crafts and ceramics.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherri (Richard) Baumann of White Bear Lake, Minn.; son, Charles (Peggy) Wagner of Rochelle; and grandchildren, Debbie (Vince) O'Brien, Dede (Jim) Ponto and Wendy (Erik) Gilbert, all of Rochelle, and Beth (Scott) Kromer, Matt Baumann, and an expectedgreatgrandchild, all of White Bear Lake, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Wellington Wagner; and daughter, Donna, in infancy.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. today, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, and from 10:30 a. m. until the time of services at 11:30 a. m. Tuesday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Epworth United Methodist Church or to the Ogle County Hospice Association.

Ruth C. White of St. Charles
Services for Ruth C. White, 84, will be held at 3:30 p. m. Tuesday, at the Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St., St. Charles. Rev. Loy Williams will officiate.
Born Feb. 16, 1914, in Niantic, Ill., the daughter of Earl and Nancy (nee Burke) Cross, she died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at Pineview Care Center in St. Charles.
Burial will be in Brown Cemetery, Decatur, Ill.
She was a member of the Fox Valley Presbyterian Church in Geneva.
Mrs. White is survived by her son, Gerald (Sue) White of St. Charles; daughter, Sharon (Glenn) Newman of Barrington; grandchildren, Christopher White, Melissa (Jim) Wallace and Jeff (Kathy) Newman; great-grandchildren, Scott and Stephen Newman and Zachary and Nicholas Wallace; sister, Leona Bradford of Taylorville, Ill.; and niece, Joyce (Wayne) Langun of Morrisonville, Ill.
Visitation will be from 1 p. m. until the time of services Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Contributions in Ruth's memory may be made to the Fox Valley Presbyterian Church, 227 Eastside Dr., Geneva, IL 60134.

Ryan Cole Younger of Naperville
A memorial service for Ryan Cole Younger, 19 days, will be held at 3 p. m. Tuesday, at Wheaton-Salem United Mehtodist Church, 1852 95th St., Naperville.
Born Dec. 12, 1998, at Rush-Copley Memorial Hospital in Aurora, he died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Interment will be private.
He was a beautiful, perfectly formed little boy, filled with a feisty zest for life. He fought gallantly to survive. He died as a result of pulmonary hypertension caused by a congenital diaphragmatic hernia. His spirit and determination to live and capacity to love touched all who had the opportunity to meet him. May hismemory always remain lovingly alive within us.
Survivors include his parents, Douglas and Sandra Younger of Naperville; sister, Bailey; paternal grandparents, Luther and Doris Younger of Claremore, Okla.; and maternal grandfather, Allan Rohlfs of Twin Lakes, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jo Rohlfs; and aunt, Kristin Leimer.

Daniel A. Meschewski of Peoria
Services for Daniel A. Meschewski, 38, will be held at 10 a. m. Wednesday, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Peoria.
The Franciscan Friars will officiate.
Born Sept. 24, 1960, in Chicago, to Richard and Marianne (nee Simon) Meschewski, he died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Peoria.
Mr. Meschewski had worked 11 years as a project engineer for Caterpillar Tractor Company in Peoria. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Meschewski (nee Bagow), whom he married June 11, 1983, in Schaumburg; sons, Eric and Brian, both at home; daughters, Ashley and Meredith, both at home; parents, Richard (Elda) Meschewski of Davis, Ill., and Marianne Rafferty of Hanover Park; brothers, Richard and Matt Meschewski, both of Hanover Park; sisters, Susan Jackson and Linda Brown, both of Glendale Heights, and Lisa Borneman of California; one stepbrother; and five stepsisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p. m. today, at the church, with a rosary at 7:45 p. m., and from 9:30 a. m. until the time of services at 10 a. m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for his children through the Construction Equipment Federal Credit Union (CEFCU).

James E. Lord of Evanston
A funeral Mass for James E. Lord `Mr. Winross', 83, will be held at11 a. m. Friday, at St. Nicholas Church, 806 Ridge Ave., Evanston. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret Fitzgerald Lord; loving father of Marilyn (Carmelo) Milici, Gael Anne, Beth Wilson, J. Michael (Nancy), Casey (Susan Monson), J. Kevin (Patty) and Virginia Lord (Don Fransee); proud grandfather of 20; great-grandfather of seven; loving brother of Catherine Johnson of Crystal Lake and the late Charles Lord of California; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p. m. Thursday, at Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 1571 Maple Ave., Evanston.

A funeral Mass for Elvera M. Altier (nee Sillani), 98, will be celebrated at 11 a. m. Wednesday, at St. Julian Eymard Church, where she will lie in state from 10 a. m. until the time of Mass.
Born in Chicago, she died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at her home. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony A. Altier; loving mother of Joan E. Brennan; cherished grandmother of Tim C. (Robin) Brennan and Sally A. (Anthony) Petrillo; great-grandmother of Grace, Caroline, Maggie, Conor and Brigid Brennan, and Anthony, Kaitlin, Patrick, Mathew and Maria Petrillo; and dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

She was the beloved wife of Carmen; devoted mother of Diane (Henry) Jacobi and Darlene (Richard) Meglio; dear sister of Millie Billenstein, Elvira `Babe' Capasso and Louis Veglia; and fond grandmother of Lisa (Jim) Martin, Ken (Jennifer), Steve and Jeff Jacobi and Richard Jr. and Virginia Meglio.

Esther L. Barnhart of Elgin
Services for Esther L. Barnhart, 85, will be held at 7:30 p. m. Wednesday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin.
Born Aug. 9, 1913, in Labette County, Kan., to Oscar and Pearl Carrier Hills, she died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at Sherman West Court, Elgin. Graveside services will be held Saturday in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Parsons, Kan.
Mrs. Barnhart had been a resident of Elgin since 1943 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elgin.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Barnhart; daughter, Barbara (Herbert) Carson of Farmington, Minn.; son, Kenneth (Jerri) Barnhart of Elgin; 14 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Ruth Hugo of California, Wintress Lett of Stillwell, Okla., and Audrey (Bud) Anderson of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Verna Sprague; and brother, Orin Hills.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p. m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
