Kathryn `Kay' Hitzemann of Elgin
Graveside services for Kathryn `Kay' Hitzemann, 76, will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, at Washington Cemetery, McQueen Station, Ill. The Rev. Thomas O'Connor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Elgin will officiate.
Born Dec. 14, 1922, in Omaha, Ill., to Homer D. and Lola Mae (nee Wilson) Whipple, she died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at Alderwood Care Center in South Elgin.
Mrs. Hitzemann attended Omaha High School and graduated from Ridgeway High School in Omaha, Ill. She had worked at the Elgin Watch Factory. Kay was amember of the National Republican Party, the Washington Cemetery Association in McQueen Station, and the Tucker Automobile Club Association where her brother was a member and employee of the company. Nellie `held court' every dayat the Candy Cane Restaurant in Elgin, serving as the `watch dog' of the neighborhood. She had had several letters to the editor published in the CourierNews, was a great radio talk show fan, and was very interested in national and local politics. She often `fought' the Elgin `City Hall' with her views. Married to Richard Hitzemann in 1952, she purchased a new Lincoln Premiere for him in 1960, a car he had dreamed of owning since his foxhole days during World War II. Kay still owned the Lincoln at the time of her death.
Surviving are her brother, Wilmer W. `Bill' (Sue) Whipple of Kent, Wash.; and nieces, Kristine (Alex) Yokley of Denver, Colo., and Janice Whipple of Seattle, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in 1986; and sister, Maida Brown, in 1972.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, at Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Funeral Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin.
Contributions to the Washington Cemetery Association in Kay's memory would be appreciated by her family.

Donald Hoffmann of Arlington Heights
Services for Donald Hoffmann, 68, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, 302 N. Dunton, Arlington Heights.
Born Dec. 2, 1936, in Oak Park, he died Monday, May 24, 1999, at home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Gardens West, Elmhurst.
A 26-year resident of Arlington Heights, Mr. Hoffman was a retired sales engineer with AFCO Manufacturing in Des Plaines and a self-employed real estate broker.
He was a member of Austin Lodge 850 A. F. & A. M.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Margaret (nee Fierro); children, William (Kimberly) Hoffmann and Susan (Stuart) Hoffman-Rosenbloom; brother, Thomas (late Julia) Hoffmann; sisters, Bonita (Lawrence) Clemans and Sandra (Dimitrios) Dimacopoulos; granddaughter, Ashley Victoria; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with services at 7:30 p.m. held by the Austin Lodge, at Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Thursday, at the church.

Erin Rae Hooker
Services for Erin Rae Hooker, 18, of Park Forest, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Westwood Dr., Park Forest.
Rev. Barry Scott, pastor of Hosannah Lutheran Church in St. Charles, will officiate.
Born June 5, 1980, in Chicago, the daughter of Robert and Betsy (nee Braun) Hooker, she died tragically Saturday, May 22, 1999, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Watseka, Ill.
Erin grew up in Park Forest where she attended high school and was in search of beginning life on her own. She had recently begun working as a restaurant cashier but was looking forward to travelling far and wide as an airline stewardess. A caring and carefree young woman, Erin loved life and made memories to live for, wherever she went.
Survivors include her parents, Betsy Braun Hooker of Park Forest and Robert (Ingela) Hooker of St. Charles; sister, Ariane Dawn Hooker of Park Forest; stepsister, Jaclyn Nicklas of St. Charles; grandparents, Jeanne (Orla) Buehler of Manteno, Ill. and Anna Hooker of Schaumburg; aunts and uncles, William C. Hooker, Diane O'Donnell, Kurt Braun and Bonnie (John) Coffin; many cousins; and a family of good friends.
She joins now her paternal grandfather, William Hooker; maternal grandfather, Fred Braun; and stepsister, Angela Nicklas (May 16, 1999), who preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

William Jacobs of Mount Prospect
Prayers for William Jacobs, 73, will be said at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, at Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights. Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Raymond de Penafort Church, Lincoln Ave. and Elmhurst Rd., Mount Prospect.
Born June 23, 1925, in Chicago, he died Monday, May 24, 1999, at home. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
Mr. Jacobs was a member of the American Legion.
He was the husband for 47 years of Theresa (nee Rizzo); father of Christine Jacobs and Jill (Edward) Hoff; son of the late George and Christina Jacobs; brother of Marie Richer, Sally Steiner, Wilma Weel, and the late Benjamin and Alphonse Jacobs; and grandfather of Megan and Eddie Hoff.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Rainbow Hospice or the donor's favorite charity, are appreciated.

Donald C. Larson of Mount Prospect
Memorial services for Donald C. Larson, 63, will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. at Northwest Hwy., Mount Prospect.
Born June 29, 1935, in Chicago, Mr. Larson died Monday, May 24, 1999.
Survivors include his children, Thomas, Donna (Steven) Heil, Mary Anne (John) Gerritsen, Michael (Lois) and Barbara Larson; and grandchildren, Nathaniel, Marissa, Margaret, Daniel and Jakob.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of the services Thursday, at the funeral home.

Charles F. McErlean Sr. of Oak Brook
A funeral Mass for Charles F. McErlean Sr., 87, a longtime resident of Oak Brook, will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Our Lady's Chapel at Mayslake Village, 1801 35th St., OakBrook. He died Friday, May 21, 1999, at his home.
Mr. McErlean, a former vice chairman of United Airlines, president of UAL Corporation, and a member of the Board of Directors of both, retired in 1977 after 32 years of service to the companies. During his tenure at United, he served as head of its law department and chief operating officer. A graduate of Georgetown University Law School, Mr. McErlean practiced law in Chicago and was with the National LaborRelations Board prior to joining United in 1945. He served on the Board of Regents for Georgetown University and the Board of Governors for Briarwood Lakes Condominium Association.
He was married for 60 years to the late Theodora Emerson McErlean. Surviving are his two sons, Charles F. Jr. and Robert E. (Sharon); daughter, Mollie-Mary L.; fivegrandchildren, James (Leone), Laura (Joseph) Enright, Kelly (James) Hunt, Amy (Gregory) Szeszol and Brian; and 11 great-grandchildren, Christian, Katelyn, Andrew, Ryanne, Jacquelyn, Madelyn, Kathleen, John, James, Michael and Matthew. He was also the brother of John (the late Helen), Paul (Catherine), William, and the late James, Neal (Isabelle) and Thomas (Betty).
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Elliston Funeral Home, First and Grant Street, Hinsdale, and from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the chapel.

Adele M. Milz of Naperville
A Mass of Christian Burial for Adele M. Milz (nee Gaisrig), 80, will be celebrated on Wednesday, at St. Patrick's Residence, 1400 Brookdale Road, Naperville, where family and friends will meet at 10 a.m.
Born Oct. 12, 1918, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, she died Saturday, May 22, 1999, at St. Patrick's Residence. Burial will be in Deltona Memorial Park, Deltona, Fla.
Mrs. Milz had moved from Canada to Chicago at a young age. She was a resident of the Marquette Park neighborhood and graduated from Lindblom High School. From 1961 to1967 she lived in Palos Heights and then moved to Deltona where she was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes CatholicChurch. She was also a longtime member and past president of the Darius-Girenas Unit #271 Chapter of the American Legions Women's Auxiliary.
Since 1994 Mrs. Milz had been a resident of St. Patrick's residence.
Surviving are her son, Kenneth Milz of Albany, Calif.; daughters, Juliana (Albert) Kamen of Bolingbrook and Nancy (George) Meyer of Aurora; and grandson, Brian Kamen of Bolingbrook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Milz; parents, Joseph and Anastasia Gaisrig; and brothers, Joseph and Anthony Gaisrig.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, atFriedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

Paul Lennart Pearson of St. Charles
Services for Paul Lennart Pearson, 76, will be held at 11 a.m. today, at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, East Main and Third Ave., St. Charles. Rev. Dr. C. Alfred Patten will officiate.
Born April 15, 1923, in Orkelljunga, Sweden, he died Friday, May 21, 1999, at Delnor CommunityHospital in Geneva.
Burial will be in North Cemetery.
He came to the United States with his parents at age four andgrew up in Elmhurst. He was a veteran of World War II and served with the 32nd Medical Depot Company, participating in battles and campaigns in Normandy, Rhineland, northern France, central Europe and Ardennes in 1945. Before hisretirement in 1987, he was owner of KMH Company Inc. in Chicago and Pearson's Sales and Services in St. Charles.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; daughters, Mindy (Jack) Brandli of St. Charles, Holly (James) Pankow of St. Charlesand Karen (Matthew) Fenneman of Gahanna, Ohio; grandchildren, Karey, Kelly, Katy and Kinsey Gallagher, Kristen and Kristofer Brandli, all of St. Charles, and Chad and Cole Pankow of Oceanside, Calif.; sisters, Astrid Pearson of Elmhurst and Birgit (Robert) Nystrom of Agoura, Calif.; brothers, Roy (Betty) Pearson of Elmhurst and Harry (Marion)Pearson of Downers Grove; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Dagobert Pearson.

Marilyn S. Peterson of Arlington Heights
Prayers for Marilyn S. Peterson (nee Jaros), 60, will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (four blocks south ofPalatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights.
Born Aug. 7, 1938, in Chicago, she died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Interment will be private.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Tom, whom she married on Nov. 23, 1963; children, David (Jane) of Paris, France and Kristin (Kenneth) Carlton of Chicago; and sisters, Joan Jacobs of Chicago and Dorothy (Bob) Stevens of Park Ridge. She was loved by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Harold J. Peterson of St. Charles
Funeral services for Harold J. Peterson, 94, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Grace Lutheran Church, Lily Lake.
Mr. Peterson died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva.

Irving Warren Roane of Gurnee
A memorial service for Irving Warren Roane will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Church of the Holy Spirit (Episcopal), 400 E.
Westminster Ave., Lake Forest. The family will receive friends following the service in the Parish hall.
Mr. Roane was retired from the Navy and Sola Electric. He was a member of Mason Lodge #18 in Racine, Wis.
He was the beloved husband for 55 years of Ethel V. (nee Peterson); loving father of R. Scott (Rae), Robin (Gene) Boydston and Roger (Cathy); grandfather of Kimberly (Martin) Mayer, Brenda and Craig Boydston, Bradley and Jami Roane, and Paige and Hayley Roane; great-grandfather of Kirstyn Marie Mayer; brother of Charles W.; brother-in-law of Carl A. Peterson; fond uncle of Judy Britt, Pam Smith, and Richard and Preston (Sue) Peterson.
