Lydia I. Dietz of Schaumburg
Services for Lydia I. Dietz (nee Kauffman), 84, formerly of Northbrook, will be held at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, at Stirlen-Pieper & Davenport Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington. Rev. Linda Philabaun will officiate.
Born May 26, 1914, in Toledo, Ohio, she passed away Tuesday, May 25, 1999, in Schaumburg. Burial will be private.
Mrs. Dietz worked for Ameritech for 30 years as a telephone operator. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Betty Ross Chapter #834 in Chicago. She enjoyed knitting, reading and going for walks.
Survivors include her children, Arthur Jr. (Linda) Dietz of North Bend, Ore., Sharon (Vince) Dawson of Sebastian, Fla., Corrine (Bob) Wahle of Cold Springs, Texas and Ronald (Ann) Dietz of Arlington Heights; sisters, twins, Frieda (Conrad) Wiggs of Arizona and Agnes Schuett of Glenview, Harriette Huyda of Palm Beach, Fla. and Lillian Fogarty of Michigan; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Dietz, whom she married on Jan. 4, 1932; and brothers, Ernie and Arthur Kauffman.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of the services Saturday, at the funeral home.

Jorge Montes Garcia of Elgin
Funeral Mass for Jorge Montes Garcia, 25, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Morrissey officiating.
Born March 21, 1974, in Mexico City, Mexico, the son of Jorge Montes and Guadalupe Garcia, he died Monday, May 24, 1999, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
Burial will take place Monday in Pantion Municipal Cemetery, Zinaparo, Michoacan, Mexico.
Mr. Garcia had been employed as a laborer. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include his parents of Mexico City;one brother, Oswaldo J. Montes; and two sisters, Xochil Montes and Angeles Montes, all of Mexico.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, at Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin.

Felix J. Gervais of Buffalo Grove
A memorial Mass for Felix J. Gervais, 84, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.
Born April 18, 1915, in Currie, Minn., he died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at his home. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, DesPlaines, at a later date.
Mr. Gervais had been a resident of Buffalo Grove for 13 years and had retired from his position as regional traffic manager for Montgomery Ward in March 1981, after 36 years of service. A World War II veteran, he had served with the Marine Corps in the Pacific from 1942 to 1945. After moving to Buffalo Grove from Skokie in 1986, he became active in the Covington Condominium Association and served on the executive board for more than 10 years.
He was the husband of Eleanor L. Gervais (nee Pitchford), whom he married Jan. 17, 1942, in Minneapolis, Minn.; father of Merrily (Lance) Schlichter of Fremont, Calif., Michael (Gail) Gervais of Arlington Heights and David Gervais of Park Ridge; grandfather of Kevin (Michelle), Kimberly and Christina Byers, Laura and Emily Gervais, and the late Eric Byers; stepgrandfather of Kevin and Tamara Schlichter; and brother of Lawrence (Mary) Gervais ofAkron, Ohio, Konstance (Arthur) Goodman of Mahtomedi, Minn., and Eileen (the late Vergil) Hughes of Columbus, Neb.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 625 North Court, Suite 280, Palatine, IL 60067, or to Rainbow Hospice, 444 N. Northwest Highway, Suite 145, Park Ridge, IL 60068.

John W. Givens, 52, of Winfield, formerly of Carol Stream, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999. Arrangements were made by WilliamsKampp Funeral Home, Wheaton, (630) 668-0016.

Royce William Hill of Palatine for 34 years
Prayers for Royce William Hill, 67, will be held at9:45 a.m. Saturday, at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. A 10:30 a.m. Mass will follow at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness.
Born Feb. 7, 1932, in Ardmore, Okla., he died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Interment will be private.
Survivors include his wife, Jane M. Hill (nee Mateja) of Palatine; son, Roger (Rosemarie) Hill of Hutsonville and Duane (Donna) Hill of Island Lake and daughters, Pamela (Thayer) Davis of Palatine and Janet Hill of Palatine. He was the grandfather of Andrea and Katie Davis and Krystle and Blake Hill; brother of Dolores Robinson of Ardmore, Okla. and Jack Hill of San Fernando, Calif.; uncle of Debbie and Michael Robinson, Jackie Jr.
and C. C. Hill; son-in-law of Angeline Mateja; and brother-in-law of Ronald (Susan) Mateja.
Mr. Hill was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Our father leaves his family and friends with many fond memories. A respected local businessman, he was the owner of Hillits Interiors, which operated in Palatine for 25 years on the premise of oldfashioned family service. He was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church prior to the onset of his illness.
His firm foundation in our Lord Jesus Christ will be carried on by his family.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Geraldine `Geri' Hottell (nee Buczak), 65, of Villa Park, died Wednesday, May 26, 1999. Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, Villa Park, (630) 832-4161.

Edna M. Jepson formerly of Elgin
Services for Edna M. Jepson, 90, of Hoffman Estates, will be held at10:30 a.m. Friday, at the Church of the Nazarene, Berner Road and Summit Street, Elgin, with the Rev. Brian Wangler officiating.
Born May 10, 1909, in Almora, Ill., to Raymond and Susan (nee Gerber) Mason, she died Monday, May 24, 1999, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Hoffman Estates.
Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of the Elgin area, Mrs. Jepson was a graduate of Dundee High School, a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Elgin for more than 60 years, a member of the Mayflower Society, and had served on the boards of various church organizations.
Surviving are her daughters, Elaine (William) Jepson-Reese of Darboy, Wis., Beatrice M. (Douglas) Jepson-Wilson of Elgin and Edna M. (Jerry) Jepson-Kinst of Elgin; sons, Martin R. (Marlene) Jepson of Wheaton, Robert M. (Donna) Jepson of Las Vegas, Nev., David C. (Mildred) Jepson of Belvidere, William F. Jepson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kenneth P. (Nita) Jepson of Orlando, Fla.; 27 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Donald Mason of Elgin, Judson (Marian) Mason of Williamsburg, Va., and Edwin (Eleanor) Mason of Fort Myers, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl A. Jepson, whom she married Dec. 23, 1927, and who preceded her in 1982; sisters, Marjorie Mason Keeley and Lorraine Mason Reeder; and brother, LeRoy Mason.
Visitationwill be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Church of the Nazarene.

Bernice Jordan of Palatine
Private services will be held for Bernice Jordan (nee Bober), age 83.
Born Nov. 24, 1915, in Chicago, Mrs. Jordan died Monday, May 24, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights.
Retired from GTE, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Balbina (late Richard) Bober; nieces, Marguerite (Robert) Biegler and Balbina (late Robert) Robinson; nephews, Rick (Paula) Bober and Carl A. (friend, Cynthia Paine) Bober; eight great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L.; and parents, Richard M. and Margaret Sydney Bober (nee Becking).
Arrangements were made by Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, Palatine.

Bernice `Ma Keev' Keevil of McHenry
Services for Bernice `Ma Keev' Keevil, 85, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Peter M. Justen Colonial Funeral Home, 3807 W. Elm St. (Route 120) McHenry, with the Rev. Roger W. Schneider officiating.
Born Sept. 21, 1913, in Chicago, to James and Anna (nee Malloy) Finley, she diedWednesday, May 26, 1999, at Crystal Pines Nursing Home, Crystal Lake. Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
Mrs. Keevil had retired in 1989 from the McHenry Public Library District. Among her special interests, she was an avid VFW Bingo girl.
Surviving are her children, Jim `Keev' Keevil of McHenry, Audrey (Ted) Poppinga of Schaumburg and Art Keevil of Scottsdale, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, George Natzke of Arlington Heights; and niece, Edna Fritz of Naples, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Keevil, whom she married July 7, 1945, at Greenwood Methodist Church; brothers, Edward, Michael and James Finley; sisters, Rose Glende and LaVerne Natzke; and great-grandson, Wesley John Keevil.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Robert David King of Palatine
A funeral service for Robert David King, seven months, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
Born Oct. 19, 1998, in Park Ridge, he died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at Hope Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn. Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
Survivors include his parents, Steven W. and Suzanne M. (nee Kane) King of Palatine; brother, Edward J. King of Palatine; sister, Joanna M. V. King of Palatine; maternal grandparents, Joseph J. and Dolores J. Kane of Naperville; paternal grandmother, Shirley Ann King of Chicago; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of the services Saturday, at the funeral home.

Lidia Kolar of Hanover Park
Services for Lidia Kolar (nee Antoniuk), 56, a resident of Hanover Park for 22 years, will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, at Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Road), Streamwood/Schaumburg.
Born Aug. 12, 1942, in the Ukraine, she died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Hospice House, Elk Grove Village. Interment will be private.
She was the wife of Gerald Kolar; mother of Michael and Travis Ortlieb, both of Seattle, Wash.; sister of the late Nadia Clingen; and aunt of Paul and Diana Clingen.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of services at 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

A member of the Polish Falcons of America and Local Union 705, he was the husband of CharleneLippmann (nee Claesson); father of Marilyn Evert of Elmhurst, Diane Lippmann, Diane Schneider of Streamwood, Sheila (Dan) Leach of Trevor, Wis. and the late Phyllis (late Michael) Gracz; grandfather of Cindy, Jennifer, Anne, Lynn, David and the late Allen; and great-grandfather of Brandon, Elizabeth, Stephen, Nicholas, David and Nathan.
