Pauline Collins of North Aurora
Services for Pauline Collins, 82, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at River Hills Memorial Park Interment Chapel, 1650 S. River St., Batavia.
Born April 16, 1917, in Troy, Ohio, to Robert and Lucy Burton, she passed away Saturday, May 29, 1999, at Provena Mercy Center Hospital, Aurora.
Pauline was a professional hairdresser and managed the Carson Pirie Scott Beauty Salon in Aurora for more than 20 years, prior to her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Jack A. Collins, to whom she was united in marriage in 1951 in Elgin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, at Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia.
Contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of donor's choice.

William M. Costello Jr. of Naperville
Prayers for William M. Costello Jr., 66, will be said at 9 a.m. Wednesday, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 26 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.
Born Aug. 30, 1932, in Aurora, he died Friday, May 28, 1999, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Entombment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Mr. Costello was born in Aurora and grew up in Naperville. He was a graduate of Naperville High School and was employed with the Naperville Post Office for more than 30 years, as a mail carrier. Mr. Costello was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He coached Little League Baseball and played softball for many years. He loved dogs.
Survivors include hisdaughters, Judith (Jeff) Jansen of Oswego, Ill., Jenny (Wayne) Simkins of Norway, Mich., JoAnn (Brad) Leonard of Naperville, Janet (Gary) Koehring of West Chicago and Julie Costello of Naperville; sons, Roger (Maribeth) Costello of Naperville and Lew (Gina) Costello of Naperville; 11 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Koth of Naperville; andfour nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (nee Spinner) Costello, in 1992; his parents, William and Mary Costello; half brothers, Dale and Wesley; and an infant grandson.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Costello's name may be made to the American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle St., Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60604.

Carl R. Dugger of Elgin
Services for Carl R. Dugger, 38, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. Rev. Phil Congdon will officiate.
Born Sept. 18, 1960, in Akron, Ohio, the son of Richard and Joanne Huegle Dugger, he died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at Sherman Hospital. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery.
A resident of Elgin since 1960, he is survived by his parents of Elgin; sisters, Linda (Pat) Woodliff, Cathy (Douglas) Archer, Marie Dugger, Rebecca Dugger, Annette (Steve) Wilkerson, Melanie Dugger and Angela Dugger; brothers, Donald (Becky), David (Debbie), Mark (Cindy), Paul, Phillip (Katherine) and Stephen; and 28 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and brother, John E. Dugger, in 1993.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and from 11 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Flowers may be given or memorials to Elgin Rehabilitation Center for the Mentally Handicapped, 1484 Davis Rd., Elgin, IL 60123, would be appreciated.

Ruth Alice Gould of Mount Prospect
Ruth Alice Gould of Mount Prospect died Saturday, May 29, 1999.
Born Sept. 10, 1919, she is survived by her cousin, Betty Westerberg of Pompano Beach, Fla.; her mutually agreeable family of Al, Dottie and Linda Oostmeyer; many former colleagues and friends; loving neighbors; a multitude of friends and fond, loving, fellow Christian Scientists.
A graduate of Lawrence University and Carnegie Mellon Institute, she was a librarian at the Art Institute of Chicago and with the Chicago Board of Education until her retirement.
At her request, no services have been planned.
Ruth will be remembered for her quick humor; fondness of quotes, puns, classical music and the arts; and her love for all animals, particularly `Snoopy. ' `She walks in beauty like the night.'. .
Arrangements were made by Matz Funeral Home, Mount Prospect.

Carl S. Groff of McHenry
Services for Carl S. Groff, 78, will be held at noon Tuesday, at McHenry County Memorial Park chapel, 11301 Lake St., Woodstock.
Pastor Roger Schneider of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in McHenry, will officiate.
Born July 30, 1920, in Lancaster, Pa., he died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry. Entombment will follow the service.
A 30-year McHenry resident, Mr. Groff was a retired house painter for International Decorators of McHenry and a member of Woodstock Moose Lodge #1329.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Gayle (nee Kennebeck) of McHenry; daughters, Debbie Groff and Cheryl Lavinder of Petaluma, Calif.; and sisters, Ella Rineer of Christiana, Del. and Reba Smith of Lancaster, Pa.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday, at the cemetery chapel.
Arrangements were made by Windridge Funeral Home, Ltd., Cary.

Charles J. Grom of Arlington Heights
Services for Charles J. Grom, 84, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights, where he will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services.
Born Nov. 5, 1914, in Barrington, he died Sunday, May 30, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Burial will be in St. Peter Church Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Mr. Grom had been employed as a salesman for Kehe Food Distributors for more than 17 years prior to his retirement in 1985. A veteran, he had served proudly in the Navy submarine service during World War II, receiving numerous medals and honors. He was a life member of Arlington Heights VFW Post #981 and a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where he was anusher for more than 20 years, and played in the Arlington Heights Golden Golfers golf league.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Grom (nee Kastning), whom he married Jan. 10, 1942, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church; children, Gary (Barbara) Grom of Kildeer, Gayle (Charles) Jacobson of San Rafael, Calif., and John (Mary) Grom of Andover, Minn.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Gertrude (Jack) Raprager and Lorraine (William) Laidig; brother Robert (Jackie) Grom; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Grom.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.

Adolph S. Guziec of Mount Prospect
Services for Adolph S. Guziec, 75, will begin with prayers at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road (at Northwest Highway), Mount Prospect, andcontinue with Mass at noon, at St. Raymond Church.
Born Jan. 22, 1924, in Chicago, he died Friday, May 28, 1999. Interment will be in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles.
He was the husband of the late Hester Guziec; father of Julia (Dwight) Harvey, Gail Hajduk, Deborah (Gary) Gayton, Sharon (Douglas) Loveless and the late Laura Guziec; and grandfather of10. He is also survived by his brothers, Edward and Walter Guziec.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Joseph P. Hutchings of Arlington Heights
Services for Joseph P. Hutchings, 48, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights.
Born March 25, 1949, in Arlington Heights, he died Thursday, May 27, 1999.
Interment will be private.
Mr. Hutchings was the owner/operator of Bart's Barber Shop in Deerfield.
Surviving are his nephew, Dean C. Hutchings; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Sophie Hutchings; and his brother, Paul J. Hutchings.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Edward G. Dorn II of Palatine
Visitation for Edward G. Dorn, 63, a resident of Palatine since 1968, will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Afuneral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 1152 E. Anderson Road, Palatine.
Born Sept. 1, 1935, in Detroit, Mich., he died Friday, May 28, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
With a dream to become a successful artist, Mr. Dorn left Detroit and worked as an advertising manager with major corporations. He later established two companies. In 1960, he founded Cel Publications where he authored and self-published books for advertising, camping and cooking. Proceeds from various publications were donated to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit. In 1971, he founded an advertising agency, Edward G. Dorn & Associates (EGD), which is still family owned and operated in Rolling Meadows.
In his free time, he enjoyed oil painting, reading, and vacationing in Door County, Wis., with family and friends.
A loving husband for more than 40 years to wife, Cecilia A. Dorn (nee Cass), he believed in raising his 16 children with a Catholic education. He was a devoted father to Donna (Ed) Molony, Kathleen (Roger) Williams, Mary, Edward (fiancee, Kim), Linda (Tom) Chernesky, Robert (Crissy), Stephen (Traci), John (Renee), Brian (Dawn), Jeff, Michael, Scott, David, James, Mark and Daniel; and proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren.

John E. Legowski of Schaumburg
Prayers for John E. Legowski, 77, will be said at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.), Streamwood/Schaumburg. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Marcelline Church, Schaumburg.
Born May 23, 1922, in Chicago, he died Friday, May 28, 1999, at home. Cremation will be private.
He was the husband of Dolores Legowski (nee Kaminski); father of John (Florence), James (Susan), Christine, Maryellen (Wayne) Bach and Jeffrey (Leanisa); grandfather of Pamela, Holly, Julie, James, Timothy, Thomas and John Legowski, Kenneth, Kevin and Ryan Bach, and Nicholas, Matthew and Jennesa Legowski; great-grandfather of Kyle, Philip and Brittney Legowski; and brother of the late Cecelia, Helen, Bernice, Jerome, Casimer, Max and Aloysius.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the prayers Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Louis Mace of Elgin
Memorial services for Louis Mace, 85, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. Rev. Carl Meyers will officiate.
Born Dec. 27, 1913, in Newberg, N. Y., the son of William and Amy Webster Mace, he died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at the University of California Medical Center in San Diego, Calif. Burial will be private.
He had been a resident of Elgin for the past 40 years. He was employed by Western Electric for more than 35 years before retiring in 1972. He was also employed part time at Sherman Hospital as a parking lot attendant. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy. Mr. Mace was a member of the Sherman Hospital Auxiliary for 15 years and SHIM.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Beyer Mace; stepchildren, Craig (Maria) Benner of Arizona, Arthur (Faith) Benner of Joliet and Gayle Benner of Elgin; four stepgrandchildren; one great-step-grandchild; and nephew, Kenneth Mace of Philadelphia, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Margaret Mace; and brothers, Edward and Harold Mace.
Visitation will be at the time of the services only.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Deicke Low Vision Center, 219 E. Cole St., Wheaton, Ill.
