Eladio B. Lombos Sr. of Elk Grove Village
Prayers for Eladio B. Lombos Sr., 65, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Rd. (three blocks south of Biesterfield Rd.), Elk Grove Village. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Julian Eymard Church.
Born in the Philippines, he died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Hospice House. Interment will be in Paranaque Cemetery, Paranaque City, Philippines.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Lombos was employed as a dietary aid at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in the Philippines.
Survivors include his wife, Natividad (nee Deguzman); children, Linda (Nilo) Luna, Rizalino (Gina), Alberto (Erlinda), Zacarias and Eladio Lombos Jr., Lida Lombos, Florcy Lombos, Herminia Castillo and Pedro (Nora) Castillo ; grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Capelle, Brian Luna, Karen Licudine, Resty Lombos, Belinda, Celso, Dante, Erik, Abigail, Disiree, Maye, Rina, Rizza and Michael; and niece, Thelma (Anthony) Caldwell.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

LeRoy E. H. Marks of Crystal Lake
Services for LeRoy E. H. Marks, 75, formerly of Huntley, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Windridge Funeral Home, Ltd., 104 High Road, Cary.
Born June 26, 1923, in Winslow, Neb., he died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at Woodstock Memorial Hospital. Interment will be private.
Mr. Marks was the retired superintendent of schools for the Huntley School District. He was a member of the McHenry County Retired Teachers Association and the McHenry County Historical Society of Union.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Marks (nee Line); son, Grant (Lenoir) Marks of Schaumburg; and grandsons, Kyle and Kevin Marks of Schaumburg.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the McHenry County Historical Society of Union, or to the Hospice of Northeastern Illnois, 410 S. Hager, Barrington, IL 60010.

Thomas E. Maslanka formerly of Mundelein
Services for Thomas E. Maslanka, 47, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Glenview.
Born Sept. 2, 1951, he died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, in Highland Park.
He was the beloved father of Emily and Tommy Maslanka; dear son of Edward T. and Jeanette Maslanka; and fond brother of James (Kathy) Maslanka, Edward (Vonna) Maslanka Jr. and Jeanette (Phillip) Hall.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the William H. Scott Funeral Home, 1104 Waukegan Road, Glenview.

Jean P. Olson (nee Zedrick), 88, of Elk Grove Village, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999. Arrangements were made by Grove Memorial Chapel, Elk Grove Village, (847) 640-0566.

Louis Edward Penny
A funeral Mass for Louis Edward Penny, 87, of Springfield, Mo., will be celebratedat 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. John Neumann Church, 2900 E. Main St., St. Charles, with the Rev. Edward Seisser officiating.
Born Sept. 17, 1911, in St. Mary's, Mo., to John and Mary (nee Layton) Penny, he died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Springfield, Mo.
Mr. Penny had been retired for many years.
He is survived by his children, Ann Fiedler of Mobile, Ala., Michael (Betsy) Penny of St. Charles, Laquita (Randy) Ireland of Kiowa, Kan., and Stephen Penny of St. Charles; grandchildren, Robert Fiedler, Christopher Fiedler, Marcy (Lonny) Madlock, Tony (Tonya) Fiedler, Louis (Jane) Penny, Michael (Kim) Penny, Martha (David) Strauss, Anne Penny, Douglas Dresslaer, Joseph (Maggie) Dresslaer, Erica Dresslaer, Shannon Penny and Dana (Jay) Regier; and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a special friend, Pat Petersen of Springfield, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Ruby Penny, in 1992; and two sons, John Dale Penny, in infancy and Lou Penny, in 1979.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Penny's name may be made to Tri City Family Services, 1120 Randall Court, Geneva, IL 60134; to Provena Pineview Care Center, 611 Allen Lane, St. Charles, IL 60174; to Lazarus House, 214 WalnutSt., St. Charles, IL 60174; or to a charity of donor's choice.

Elaine Pomrening of Schaumburg
Prayers for Elaine Pomrening, 73, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Friday, atMichael's Funeral Home, 800 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Marcelline Church, Schaumburg.
Born April 6, 1926, in Chicago, she died Monday, May 31, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
She was the mother of Barbara Daker; and grandmother of Amy Gronvold and Laura Daker.

Ferne M. Posner
Services for Ferne M. Posner (nee Sugar), 56, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, at the Weinstein Family Services Wilmette Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd.

She was the loving mother of Ross (Debra) Posner and Kevin(Sara) Posner; dear sister of Leslie (Dossy) Sugar; cherished aunt of Susan Sugar, Amy (Ron) Lazzeretti and Marcia(Scott) Clark; and former spouse of Bruce A. Posner. She was also a devoted friend, loved by all who knew her.

Stella Ann Racibozynski of Naperville
A Mass of Christian Burial for Stella Ann Racibozynski, 83, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. Raphael Church, 1215 Modaff Road, Naperville.
Born July 18, 1915, in Chicago, she died Sunday, May 30, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles.
Mrs. Racibozynski had been a resident of Naperville for the past seven years and was a member of St. Raphael Church.
Surviving are her son, Frank (Sharon) Racibozynski of Naperville; granddaughter, Christina Racibozynski; brothers, Edward and Theodore Szyper; sisters, Anne Sterczek, Florence Baran and Helan Wolan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Racibozynski; granddaughter, Andrea Racibozynski; and brother, Casimir Szyper.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

Vera Jean Rad of Itasca
Services for Vera Jean Rad, 67, will begin with prayers at 9 a.m. Friday, at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 E. Irving Park Road, Itasca, and continue with Mass at 9:30 a.m., at St. Peter the Apostle Church.
Born March 16, 1932, in Buckner, Mo., she died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Hospice, Elk Grove Village. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
A homemaker, she was the beloved wife of the late Stanley Rad; loving mother of Julie (Donald) Johnson and the late Thomas Rad; cherished grandmother of Kathryn and Carolyn Johnson; dear sister of Neal (Juanita) Hamilton, Harry (Joan) Hamilton, Mary Sue Laboi and Louise (Jerry) Mershon; and fond sister-in-law of Shirley (Norbert) Maska.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Urban C. Riedl formerly of Huntley
A Mass of Christian Burial for Urban C. Riedl, 89, of Elgin, formerly of Huntley, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Huntley. The Rev. Robert M. Garrity and the Rev. Joseph B. Linster will officiate.
Born March 21, 1910, in Algonquin, to Ferdinand and Hannah (nee Zellhofer) Riedl, he died Tuesday night, June 1, 1999, at Provena Mercy Center Hospital, Aurora. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A veteran, Mr. Riedl had served for four years in the Navy during World War II.
Following the war, he married Ann M. Spicer on Aug. 31, 1946, in Chickopee, Kan. Urban farmed in the Huntley area from 1948 until his retirement in 1972, when he and his wife moved to rural Elgin. In addition to farming, he had also worked for the State of Illinois Highway Department, and continued in this job for another eight years. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Huntley.
Surviving are his wife, Ann; children, James Riedl of Harvard, Mary Ann (William) Diggory of Geneva and Mark (Kathy) Riedl of East Dundee; grandchildren, Gina and Cory Richlen; and brother, Ferdinand (Evelyn) Riedl of Huntley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond Riedl; and granddaughter, Lisa Marie Schmidt.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St., Huntley, with rosary at 4:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund in Huntley.

Janice `Corky' Rivas of Lake Villa
A funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Janice `Corky' Rivas (nee Korakas), 71, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Prince of Peace Church, Lake Villa.
Mrs. Rivas passed away Saturday, May 29, 1999, at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
She was originally from Minnesota and resided in Peoria for many years. She served proudly in the Army during the Korean War, earning the Korean Service Cross.
Janice is survived by her children, Ricardo, Roberto, Renaldo, Randall, Ramon (Patricia), Roxanne and Romaine (Nicolas Mendoza) Rivas; grandchildren, Alejandro (Chris), Damian (Jessica Winsett), Ricardo, Crecencio, Ramon, Rachel A. and Aaron P. (Cassandra) Rivas, Julie Wallace, and Alyssa and Nicholas Rivas; great-grandchildren, Felicia and Dominic; sister, Helene Wilhelm; and brother, George Korakas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro D. Rivas; children, Rebecca and Rory Rivas; and sister, Faye Hockenson.
Friends and family may visit from 5 to 9 p.m. today, at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake.

Peter Robik of Geneva
Private services for Peter Robik, 89, were held Tuesday, at Yurs Wittenberg Funeral Home, Geneva. Rev. Dan Fields officiated.
Born Sept. 30, 1909, Mr. Robik passed away Thursday, May 27, 1999, at Provena Care Center in Geneva.
He is survived by his stepson, Frank (Shirley) Hassel of Geneva.
